Unique? Not Really

There's a nice, short, article in this mornings chronic's. nfl notebook about Dante Hall finding a "unique" way to honor his mom for mothers day. He bought her a house. Nice gift from a grateful son to be sure, but hardly meets the definition of unique. IIRC our own Earl Campbell did the same thing for his mom  in 1978 after signing his Oiler contract.
This article was sandwiched in between John McClains column. Surely John knows better. No biggie, just can't let a KC player steal Earls thunder. (no reflection on Dante, actually just another sports writer with a short memory)
Very nice gesture all the same.

Main Entry: unique
Pronunciation: yu-'nEk
Function: adjective
Etymology: French, from Latin unicus, from unus one —more at ONE
Date: 1602
1 : being the only one :

Hope this is not percieved as bashing Dante. Just giving Earl his props.

When compaired to other multi-millionairs it isn't that unique, but compaired to your average person its a big deal. I cannot remember a time in which someone I knew bought their mom a house.

Although it isn't "unique," it is a very generous gesture and probably brought mom to tears. Sometimes boys can do significant damage while rough housing at home, so it could be damage replacement with interest. :jk: Way to go Dante! :)

yep, and when you consider those multi-millionares are probably about 1%-5% of our population, Dante doing this becomes very unique.

What a nice gesture from a loving son. I hope she lives happily in her new home. She deserves it. :)
