Underclassmen Declarations for 2009

You aren't going to go anywhere with just SS, though. If improving this team is 'flipping' Slaton off then too bad. I'm not for drafting a RB in the first round, but we do need another RB in the mid rounds (3rd, 4th, 5th round) to help with the workload.

Which is why I want to draft 2 RBs this draft. You never have enough Rbs, look at Denver last season 6 RBs on the IR.

heck we had Taylor, Green, Brown all on the IR this season, you need depth, quality depth.

Swallow the hype....or better go back two years and read mine. I stand by what I posted. The guy in the first place doesn't fit with his skill set. And in the second he's hurt. So how many time do I have to watch the CS to know what he is all about ? He runs too GD high and he has no first step at the hole. That's what I know.

Well judging by his quotes, Slaton is working towards his rice bowl pay day. It's not silly. There's a reason the kid dropped into the third. One of those reasons was a maturity question. Now they may upset the apple cart and draft a RB high. But I bet they leave that sleeping tiger lay and look for something else. If it's working Einstein why would you monkey with it ? I wouldn't do it. Flip the finger to Slaton and see what happens.

I get it...you believe he's Earl Campbell. Well he's not. He's Ron Dayne...and we just cut that.

Wow I dont know where to begin. First off, doesnt have the skill set????? WTF are talking about???? He has the perfect style for a ZB team like ours. Secondly, I never compared him to Earl Campbell that would be about as stupid as comparing him to Ron Dayne. I compared him to Slaton. They have a very similar running style.

WOW, CS???? Aparently you need to watch him alot more. You seem to have some personal feelings about the guy that are clouding youre judgement.

So - Terrence Cody officially is returning to Alabama? I know he said he was several weeks back, but I take those early declarations with a grain of salt.

Alabama nose tackle Terrence Cody is returning to Alabama for his senior season. The All-American nose tackle said he's not submitting his information to the NFL draft advisory board, though he did consider it.

"I mean, it was a big deal -- am I coming back or am I leaving?" Cody said. "I talked to Coach (Nick) Saban, told him what I really wanted to do and he felt like it was good for me to do that. I told him I felt like I needed another year to get my full control, get my knee back to full health, and get in better condition."

Cody claims that he never seriously considered declaring and that his girlfriend pulled a prank by changing his Facebook status to "Terrence Cody is going pro", which apparently sent shockwaves through the Crimson Tide fanbase.

Either way, Cody is a terribly overrated prospect. For a guy his size, he doesn't really hold his ground very well, or penetrate for that matter. He got completely laid out a few times by Utah's guards during the bowl game. An extra year may do him some good.

Yeah, that story is the one I was taking with a grain of salt. That was before their bowl game, and just too early to take at his word.

But obviously, it's evening now and we've not heard otherwise, so clearly he is staying in school.

He didn't impress me in the Sugar Bowl. He wasn't even double-teamed all that much, and I don't think he was on the field in one single third down situation.

Utah ran a hurry up offense all night. It's hard to rotate any players when the offense is moving the ball quickly. You can't really slip 370lbs onto the field unnoticed. Utah ran the perfect offense to counter Alabama's larger defensive players. Cody is the best NT in the nation, and he had a great year.

I've got all three of his Texas games on DVD....I've watched him vs Michigan twice. I've seen all of his highlights. I don't need to watch him any more. He is what he is. A power back who's lost a step since his freshman year. He's got no where to go but down.

So you're going to pay the beaner how much for how many touches per game ? One of us has lost contact for sure.

What does Cody do better than Raji in youre opinion?

Unless you are talking about someone other than McCoy its definatly you thats lost contact because neither Michigan nor any Texas team has been on Pitts schedule the last 2 years. On top of that McCoy isnt and never has been a power back. He is probably the most shifty back coming out this year.

:gun:

Just to clear up the confusion, 3TP is talking about Beanie Wells, whereas you're talking about Lesean McCoy. Hope that helps.

Well that explains alot. NEVER MIND!!!!!!! Sorry 3tp! I thought you had lost youre mind.

You should actually watch the players sometimes instead of just reading about them online.

Does that look like a slow first step to you??? IMO McCoy is the closest thing to Slaton you will find in this draft. If you dont think a RB is important enough to draft high that is fine but dont not draft one just to not upset Slaton. That is just silly. Alot of teams are loading up their backfields with 2 qaulity backs now. The season is just to long and the RB's take to much punishment for there to be only one good RB anymore.

quite impressive.. but seems to bounce it outside a tad too much for my liking
