UM's Eric Winston will miss the rest of the year

Fiddy

Replays showed Winston was hurt when it appeared a Georgia Tech defender's helmet smacked into Winston's left knee, after which quarterback Kyle Wright fell into his lineman. Winston might have a torn anterior cruciate ligament or even more extensive damage. Winston's knee was stabilized in an air cast and he was carted off Grant Field.
He was going to be one of the first offensive lineman taken if he came out this year...

Luckily hes only a junior so he'll atleast have his senior season, but he will probably petition the NCAA for another year of eligibility if he wants it.

according to someone that is an inside buddy with Winston, he was SERIOUSLY considering leaving this year, but the knee injury has ceirtainly pushed that back

that is a huge loss for miami, eric was probably their best offensive player. hopefully he can fully recover and return to his original form next year.

Oh I have no doubt he would have come out his year, he would have been a first rounder but that aint happening now.

yeah, he was a top 10 talent this season

hopefully he didnt pull a mcgahee and stopped going to class cuz he knew he was leaving

I just read this guy's profile over on hpf
despite how awful this injury is, if it gives us a better shot at him next year, it might be better for everybody involved
if anyone can come back stronger, the Neanderthal can
does anyone know his weight when he commited at Miami?

He was around 260 coming out of high school and was projected as the top TE in the country. He even started his career at Miami as a TE before being moved to LT (smart move on both parts).

he was 260 when he got to miami and had trouble keeping his weight under 280 so they decided to move him to LT. Now he is 320 and they say he can still run a 4.8, but i don't know about that 4.95 more like it

Winston(LT) and Orien Harris(DT) announced that they are both returning to Miami for their senior year.
