One of the former Shasta mascots explained the code of conduct over at coogfans.com. Typically, the mascots will have "pretend" wrestling or fighting matches. It is customary for the visiting mascot to get "beat up" in front of the student section as entertainment.

Oregon disciplined this mascot for not following, in their words, the Code of ConDuck and issued an apology to UH. Their duck will not be on the sidelines for their next home game.

I just noticed that the Yahoo version of the story suggests Shasta was imitating, and therefore mocking Oregon's tradition of doing push-ups after a score. Shasta has been doing push-ups after UH scores in games since the 1970's. Someone forgot to tell their stupid duck.

Guess it dosen't do to po the duck. Arm the cougar with barritoes befor the game....bean and egg barritoes. She can spray the other mascot.

My cousin told me the guy in the Cougar outfit was a red-shirt freshman that could have held his own to say the very least, but there was no way he was going to risk getting in trouble with the coaching staff or the school over such a stupid thing as the Daffy did.
