Two Steelers Footballs Reportedly Came In At 11.4, 11.8 PSI Vs. Giants
The NFL was quick to brush aside another potential Deflategate scandal involving the Pittsburgh Steelers, but according to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, that might’ve been a little premature.
The story started in Week 13, when the Steelers earned a 24-14 win over the New York Giants at Heinz Field. FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported Sunday that the Giants got suspicious and ended up inspecting two of the Steelers’ footballs that they earned on turnovers, and both came in under the minimum PSI.
The Giants sent the footballs to the NFL — they confirmed this with Glazer — and the league released a statement Sunday saying the footballs were in compliance and that New York never filed a formal complaint. But Florio received the same news as Glazer, and a source even told him the footballs were well below the minimum PSI.
