trading down.......but not in 1st round

The first pick of the 2nd round will be pretty valuable on draft day. If our main targets don't fall to the 2nd rd. (Winston, Cromartie, Mangold, John Joseph, Donte Whitner etc.), wouldn't it make sense for us to trade to a lower position in the 2nd since the players we would target if our main targets are gone could go much lower in the 2nd round (Colledge, Ced. Griffin, Ko Simpson, D'Qwell, Hodge, John Scott, Davin Joseph, Jean-Giles)

let me know what ya'll think and maybe come up with some possible scenarios

I like the idea of trading down about 10 spots and grabbing an extra pick or two and still having a chance of getting Ko Simpson, considering his stock is falling. We can get some good players with those extra picks too

I think there is just way to much talent through the first three rounds to trade, especially since we have a couple holes to fill. What will be interesting is the 4th round pick. I'm sooo glade we got Moulds for a 5th and not our fourth. It's the first pick of the second day and i bet there will be a few players who grade out with 2nd or 3rd round grades who slip to this pick. There may be teams salivating for a certain player here and we may end up getting a later 4th and possibly a pick next year.:twocents:

so, the more picks we have in the 1st 3 rounds the better

Maybe, if a team would trade for that round plus a later day 1 pick. Teams just get tight with those picks. I was not criticizing:ok: im all for your plan as you stated the more the better, i just have a feeling as the draft gets rolling along everyone will know the obvious, that they dont want to give away day 1 picks.

You would have to go to #53 and trade with NE to get their #73. I'm not sure Colledge or Scott will still be there at that point.
I think we need an OT in the 2nd rd. and if we can't be sure one that we want will be their with the trade down we have to take them early. I think we need to draft for need in the 2nd.

If Eric Winston, Nick Mangold, Johnathan Joseph, and Antonio Cromartie are all gone I'd think about moving down depending on what we can get in return for it, but I'd want to stay high enough that we can come away with Donte Whitner, Ashton Youboty, or Bobby Carpenter. Cedric Griffin, Abdul Hodge, and Jonathan Scott are all 3rd round prospects anyways, and Max Jean-Gilles is the farthest thing from a zone-blocking OLineman in this draft. I probably wouldn't really target D'Qwell Jackson or Ko Simpson either, Davin Joseph would be a decent target though.
