Trade with Redskins??

Daonly

Waterboy
Since they don't have a 1st rounder, Im seeing them looking to move up and grab our 2nd rounder for their 22nd overall in the 2nd round and their 3rd overall 22nd, or moving Lavar Arrington to us and there 3 round pick, any thoughts? My first prediction on a trade. :stirpot:

I doubt it is offered, but I would happily trade the #33 pick for the #54, #86, and LaVar Arrington.

Nahh what I meant was Their 2nd and their 3rd for our second, or their 3rd and Lavar Arrington... what you guys think of that trade?

I don't see it because we need to address our OL,at #33 there are still Quite a few outstanding linemen available.OUr LB can be addressed in FA,and probably better than Arrington.Or address that position in the 3rd round

If we are going to trade down in the 1st then I would definitely be all for the trade as we will pick up an extra high 2nd round pick, so between #4/5 and #36/37 we can get a DE and OT and while adding a 3rd round pick to either trade down 21 spots in the 2nd round or to pick up LaVar Arrington (I'd prefer the Arrington part of the deal). If we don't trade down it would be more difficult to agree to, but it would also depend on what is available at #33, if the top few OTs that could play LT within a year or so are gone then I'd be more open to making the trade.

So u guys are saying that we could get LaVar Arrington, and possibly D'Brick
It sounds like the texans are going to have a confusing yet a great draft this year.

I haven't heard anything about a proposed trade with the Redskins other than on this thread, although right now their top pick in the draft is at #54, so they could be looking to move up, and if they are still not especially pleased with Arrington they could include him in the trade, but I don't really see them adding many extra draft picks to the deal since they already have so few, at least not this year's picks. I think a more likely deal would be swapping 2nds and we get their 2007 2nd and Arrington:

Redskins get: 33rd pick in 2006
Texas get: 54th pick in 2006, 2nd rounder in 2007, and LaVar Arrington

That way they move up and have the #33 pick and still have their 3rd rounder this year, and if they feel they have a couple other good OLBs and don't really plan on having Arrington as one of their starters then I could maybe see this deal happening if there is someone at #33 that they really want.
I also wouldn't expect this type of deal to actually go down until draft day after the Texans see who is available at #33. If someone like Eric Winston is still available then I think they would definitely take him to help our OLine (assuming we draft Bush at #1) but if some of the top OTs (D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Winston Justice, Eric Winston, Jonathan Scott and any other good LT-quality prospects) are gone and there isn't a DE that we like at #33, then I could see us accepting this offer and targeting a guy like Nick Mangold or else looking for another OLineman, CB/S, or DE at #54. If we trade down in the 1st and acquire that team's 2nd this year and 1st next year, I could definitely see us making this deal. If, for instance, we trade with the Jets to swap 1sts, acquire their 2nd rounder this year (#36) and 1st rounder next year, I could definitely see us sending #36 to the Redskins for #54, their 2007 2nd, and Arrington. That way, out of the combined trades we get:

#4 (DE/OT), #33 (OT/DE), #54 (OG/C), #65 (CB/S), #66 (TE) this year, so we have 5 out of the top 66 picks, plus we get an extra 1st and 2nd round picks next year and LaVar Arrington.

That wouldn't be a bad series of events for us, but again, this is all pure speculation at this point.

I think we keep #33. We should get a first round talent at a position we need (OL/TE) and pay 2nd round money.

If we deal, we might both 3rds or something else (take our reject players please; Buchy/Coleman/Wade/Robaire/etc.)

Besides, while Lavar looks like Superman, he is often hurt and performs like Huckleberry Hound (ok, maybe not that bad but he really has underperformed his hype).

Dang, I would give them #33 straight up for Arrington.

Last year I would have but with this year's draft class I wouldn't, I would at least get a lower 2nd round pick in exchange.
