Trade BACK into the first round?

That's the news now, using our 2nd round pick and who knows what else to maybe pick up another RB. Interesting...

I think we'll look into trading back into the first round, maybe using a 2nd and one of our 3rd round picks to draft a conerback or maybe going after Winston Justice.

NFL Network reported earlier our personnel have been studying film for 2 days of RB's that could go late 1st round or in the second round. I look for us to trade back up into the 1st and take a RB.

My personal thoughts on it is trading our 2nd (#33) and 4th (#98) to Chicago for the #26 if Laurence Maroney or maybe Joseph Addai are available, I think they like Maroney and would be willing to trade up for him, if he's not there then I think they stay at #33 and take the best CB or OT.

I have been getting this vibe for a couple days now, I would like to direct everyone to my latest mock draft that predicted both Mario and trading up for a RB.

We didn't need a RB in the first place, just Reggie Bush was so much better than everyone else available that we were going to get him. I would be even more disappointed than what we just did by signing Williams if we traded up to get Maroney or Addai when we could use it for a real need. That would mean up until our 3rd round pick we wouldn't even have a player to fill our needs.

NFL Network's Adam Shefter reports that Houston plans to trade back into the first round to draft a running back if they take Mario Williams with the first pick.
The Texans have an extra third-round pick to dangle and could be interested in Laurence Maroney or LenDale White. Both players look like great fits for coach Gary Kubiak's imported zone blocking scheme from Denver. Apr. 28 - 7:26 pm et

Sure the Texans will trade back into the first. They'll give a division rival the rest of their first days picks to get back in and select someone from a small school who nobody else was thinking about until the top of the third or another QB.

sarcasm, or are you in really that sad a state right now?

c'mon kid, keep ya head up

Sarcasm but I'm also very angry with the Texans right now.

They did that trick in 2004 when they moved back up to grab Jason Babin. We made Floyd Reese's day when we did that. Stroke of pure genius. A year later we passed on Derrick Johnson and got Travis Johnson instead.

I figure this year they outdo themselves and manage both moves in the same draft. First they pass on Young, then Bush, and finally draft Williams who a sizeable number of their fans find to be a huge letdown. Then they will trade back up into the first to grab someone that will be there deep into the second round and possibly at the first pick of the third. This time I bet we give the Colts all of our picks.

Seriously man, I'm pissed as I ever get over how they did this. Casserly stockpiles draft picks but he gives them away as fast as he collects them.

I sense bitterness.

why do we need another RB (especially on the 1st day)?
we have a good starteer and a good young backup, which is all a 1st day pick would get us, another good back up.

Picking up White at the end of the 1st would be an ok consolation prize, but now you have to give up one of you picks in the mid-60s and you also give up your shot at picking up Winston at #33. Oh well, blame it on Charlie.

Would that be Lendale White? Lets take care of all of our grunt positions (O and D Line) now and draft some more pretty boys next year. Big uglies really win games.

Sure, they could've used their #33 on an O-lineman. Now they will be targeting a back in the late 1st/early 2nd.

This franchise is out of control. If they waste two draft picks to trade up and grab a running back, that will push everyone over the edge. DD is a stud and can carry the load blah blah blah. Morons.
