Trade Advice Thread 2013

So I didn't see a thread for trade advice, although it's generally not discussed much here it can be vitally important not to be the guy on the wrong end of a trade.

Here's my team:
QB: RG3, Palmer
WR: Wayne, Vincent Jackson, Josh Gordon, Antonio Brown
RB: Foster, Forte, MJD, Gio Bernard, Lamar Miller
TE: Jared Cook, Gronk

Our league is a 6pt TD (Pass/REC/Rush) 0PPR set up; I feel that I am RB heavy, and I'm a little down on Foster, MJD and VJax. I think that Wayne, Gordon, Brown, Forte and Gio Bernard are going to be the real producers for me this season (I wish the Bengals would get rid of that stupid ass timeshare they have going, BJGE sucks). The commissioner of my league has been steadily trying to get me to trade him an RB, this is what his roster looks like:

QB: Newton, Schaub
WR: Megatron, D. Thomas, Fitzgerald, Tavon Austin
RB: CJ2K, Ryan Matthews, Bernard Pierce, Willis McGahee (lol), Montee Ball (lol)
TE: Bennett

I'm thinking about sending him some combination of MJD/Foster (one or the other) and Vincent Jackson (Because the Bucs are imploding badly on the offense, feel sorry for Doug Martin owners) for Megatron and Bernard Pierce.

Thoughts?

Will he make that trade? I doubt he'd take MJD, and even Foster might be a bit questionable right now. If you could offload MJD and Vjax for Megatron and Pierce you take that and run.

He took Foster/Vjax for Megatron straight up. I'm okay with that, just have to hope it doesn't get vetoed.

Shouldn't be a problem, IMO. Arian is still a top 5/8 RB & VJax drops to top 20, but with uncertainty if he clicks with Glennon.
 
Its a neutral trade imo. Both side have high values but haven't lived up to the potential yet.

And you have depth so no real downside

Unfortunately, the reason that I'm low on Foster and VJax doesn't really pertain to the talent level of the players themselves, but the guys around them. Foster and the Houston O-line has been pretty middling in the rushing department, and with Foster not being as obviously better than Tate as in years past, Tate is cutting into the yards production. Since Foster has only been to the EZ once in the first 3 weeks I'm worried that this trend is probably going to persist playing the Seahawks, 49'ers and Rams in the coming weeks.

With VJax it's all about the Freeman hoopla that's been going on the last week or two. Guy did decently, but it's pretty obvious that something is up with the Tampa offense, and now that they have a giraffe shaped ginger rookie under center, I'm not making pretty faces. To be fair though, this trade was offered to the other guy a few days ago before this glennon stuff broke.

Woah woah woah. Calm down there. As a ginger I just want to say that Glennon is totally blonde.

And also he won't succeed in the NFL. VJax's value just dropped immensely I think. Glennon cannot read the field to save his life.

I agree with that. Megatron still has the most potential and has no reason not to get back on track.

As for Foster and V Jax they deffinately will have some hard times to come
 
So, I figured I'd uh, update this thread with a little nugget:

This was some smack talk by the guy who got Foster/Vjax while giving me a shot at the playoffs (Megatron). I haven't responded yet since I'm still in a dog fight for the playoffs with one game left (2 technically if you count this week's but unless Brees puts up an 85 point performance I'm good)(Screw you Drew Brees if you do that).

I'll paste the whole thread that he started after the trade once somebody teaches me how to stitch two cropped screenshots together in photoshop. It's pretty hilarious since the first post of the thread he's calling me out as a sucker for trading Foster/Vjax for Megatron (If I owned Calvin Johnson there is no way I would've traded him for Foster/Vjax this year) and I was just pretty quiet since this is the first year I had joined the league.

I think you made out like a bandit. Lions are fighting for the division so you know they'll be playing hard. Arian is obviously hurt and Tampa just sucks.

Yeah. It was dumb of him to trade CJ for Arian, and a WR that's just a tier or maybe two tiers below CJ. I was actually surprised when he accepted the deal, and was further surprised when he made a thread in our league forums mocking me for it and had other players backing him up lol.
