Torrey Smith!!!!!!!!!

what do you guys think about Torrey Smith from Maryland as our number two WR.

His projected to go in the middle of the 2nd round.
I think he would be the best WR option for us and he would complement AJ so well.

His 6.1 and 200 bs and his QUICK. i have read around the net his project 40 will be somewhere around the 4.40

His a return specialist which will solve our problem their as well.

Could you imagine the power and brilliance of AJ and the speed and playmaking ability of Smith of the other side. I personally think it will be devastating.

Check out his awards that his won as a return man. But his a quality WR as well. This season he had over 1000 receiving yards and 12 TDs

I have R1 von miller
R2 smith
R3 quinton carter

because in FA im hoping for a CB and NT.

Trust me guys have a look at him on the net...EXPLOSIVE!!!

I have Smith as my #4 WR right now. I think he goes early-mid 2nd. Very quick and explosive athlete.

Don't think too many Texans fans would be very happy with a WR in the 2nd though.

I'd be happy with a WR in the second round as long as a couple of holes get plugged via free agency.

So if for argument sake that we sign a NT and CB in FA then draft like i have above what would you think??

On defence we cover all levels, Defensive Line (NT from FA), Linebackers (OLB from Draft) and secondary (CB from FA and FS from draft)

Saw his highlights on Youtube. I can't clearly see how he catches the ball but seems to me his is using his body or just may be catching it very close to his body and only a few plays clearly caught the ball by his hands. Hopefully, I am wrong but what you think?

Yeah i see what you mean, but there are a couple in there that he had to stretch out for. but majority of them were either on the chest or close to the body, he does get open a lot from what i have seen (minimal and off youtube) and from analysts i have read they say he has good release and uses his hands great when the CB is playing bump and run so this could be a reason why his open and catching on his chest a lot

Hopefully you are right about Smith should we decided to draft him in the 2nd. However, I think it is still a remote idea that we will be going for #2 WR in the 2nd. It is indeed a sexy idea nevertheless.

Ya I would be more then OK with that scenario. After watching our team without AJ for some stretches of time this year it was clear that we really need more WR depth. I think having an extra pass catcher could really help us out with our struggles in our first half offense. A healthy OD will help out in that respect a lot as well.

You are referring in part to me. I wanted Blackmon in the first because I though he was an amazing specimine. But I am not interested in Smith in the 2nd. I dont think he would be able to come in and contribute day 1 like a Blackmon, or Green would.

I guess we will wait and see what the coach thinks about Jacoby. Also, WR's can be had in FA or trades if we really want another one. Hell, Boldin, Housh, TO, Holmes, Marshall, Moss all have been moving around the league.

And it will continue. 2011 should have Lee Evans, Steve Smith (Carolina) and Vincent Jackson just to name a few.

I think if the Texans take a receiver they will take one in the 2nd round or later. I think Kubiak will look at what he has and feel like he wants to add another piece of weaponry, but I don't know how high of a value he will place on that.

If they are going to take a receiver in the 2nd round though, I'd prefer that they take Jerrel Jernigan out of Troy though.

I think he could come in and instantly contribute in the slots as well as be a return man.

Dude is a game breaker. People like to say Jacoby is a guy that can catch a short pass and break a long one, but this guy would make us potent in the slot as well as be a formidable return man...

I also think that he wouldn't really threaten the chemistry of the team...I think he skill set is different than our other receivers.

Well, the only person I think he'd really threated is DA.

He's not just a fast guy though...Dude is tough and he's a real receiver...

I would be happy with those picks in the first 3 rounds but I think Quinton Carter is projected to go in the 2nd. Also, like you have stated, it would be good to get a NT and CB in FA. In fact, I think who we get in FA, if anybody, will really impact the way we draft this year more so than in past years, due to the switch back to a 3-4 Defense.
