Just goes to show how disappointing Osweiler has been.Andre lost a step. We don't want him.
Arian is injury prone. missed dang near a whole season since O'b has been here. Don't want him.
Tony Romo has missed the majority of the last two seasons due to injury & y'all think we should move heaven & he'll to get him.
trade our 1st & 4th to get him, draft OL early, then trade our 2018 draft to get Romo's replacement.
brilliant

Is it really "out of whack" to expect the shiny new, 6'-7" QB with the (reportedly) strong arm to statistically perform better than the guy he replaced?OR how out of whack our expectations were.

With the playcalling being historically inept and entire new offensive line and wr's, yeah
I'm probably more in line with your thinking than it appears, especially with respect to the peculiar play-calling. And it wasn't too long ago that folks were pointing to how O'Brien got the best out of Fitzy and Hoyer. I'm just befuddled that he (and Godsey) haven't been able to do the same with Osweiler.Over the next seven games? Not at all. over his first nine games in this offense, with a new Center, RG, & a sub at LT, a new RB, two rookie WRs & George Godsey actually having to mentor a young QB for the very first time... not so much.
This would.be a move of desperation. Bad teams make moves of desperation - it's one of the reasons they remain bad teams.

Who cares? It's not your or my money.
Our defense is set - no need to spend more there.
Just need good QB play and an olineman.
A chance at some great play from our team to cheer for - priceless.
I don't understand my friend. The Texans will be 7-3 if they defeat the Raiders on Monday Night. Since when is 7-3 considered a bad team? That's pretty good through 10 games by any standard. Especially when you consider we're doing all of this with our best player injured for the season. I'd never have guessed we'd be this good, record wise, without J.J. Watt. While I agree, the Texans *are* a bad team.

Sure, we may not be a sexy team to watch and our young and inexperienced offense will frustrate all of us. Brock Oswelier even admits and will say himself he has to play a lot better. We understand that. But they're getting better and we're still winning games. I'd rather have an ugly win over a pretty loss. Stats are for losers. All I want to focus on are the wins.
TR has conceded the starting QB job to Dak Prescott.
This opens up the possibility for a trade.
What is he worth?
Not what he'll be asking for should this trade "happen"
To a struggling franchise desperate for good veteran QB play, one would have to think at least a first round pick.
rotflmao
Yes, he is 37 years old and has certain injury issues but we would still have Osweiler as his primary backup.
And you wanted to see Dallas get a first rd pick for him?
If you say that Dallas wouldn't trade their backup, then we can sweeten the deal by offering the guy Jerruh admires so much - Brandon Weedon, into the deal.
lmao
If this is not enough, I would additionally offer a fourth or even third.
what happened to the first rd pick you were offering?
Such a trade will admit the Osweiler trade was a lemon, but he could sit and learn behind Romo and retake the reins when Romo calls it quits or if Romo gets injured.
Swapping a lemon for a lemon please tell me this trade deal is for real?
In the meantime you restructure Osweiler's contract.
Romo's contract will require more than 1 restructure
I ain't no capologist or trade expert, that is the GM's job - surely he (they) could make such a trade happen?
crossing fingers please do make it happen
Romo may not be elite, but he is better than anything we have had in here with the exception of best Schaub.
true
We would not have to upgrade our D -
interesting
we get JJ and Kevin Johnson back next season so we use our remaining picks to nab the best Olineman available even if it means moving up.
betting the farm eh?
We have the nucleus for a good team - I am certain some veteran quality QB play and leadership will lift this team to the next level to at least compete with the best.
Romo as much as I like him is not your answer (can't believe I just said that)
The window is shortening for opportunities for the team as currently structured.
Window slammed shut you get Romo
We would have a legitimate QB and be legit contenders.
2 playoff wins yep real legit
I'm in - make it happen Rick.
Fingers crossed
Even before he started getting injuries he was a choke artist.
