Tom Brady.......

If Tom Brady and the Patriots part ways......I think he would be a perfect fit in Miami for a couple of seasons.

IMHO, the Patriots will probably offer Brady a 1 year or maybe a 2 year deal to keep him with the organization. If for any reason they don't, then it just seems like Brady in a Dolphins uniform would be a good fit.

Miami has good picks in the upcoming and 2021 draft which means their two biggest needs.....LT and a shiny new QB could be addressed in the draft. The new QB could enjoy a couple of seasons being mentored by Brady before taking the reins. I'm not saying the QB has to be RD1 pick, he just needs to possess the tools that could be groomed.

I hope he leaves. Belicheck left him empty of weapons for the last two years when he was over 40 years old. That's not at all how you treat a guy that is your starter at any age much less over 40. Pats are cap struck as well so it isn't that likely that they completely turn around that offense in one off season.

Josh McDaniels is leaving most likely, so a brand new offense would be installed any way most likely.

He can possibly find the right place with the right weapons there and that could be added.

There are a few places that could possibly be good choices.

I still think BB is p!ssed over having to trade Jimmy G.

Places like Indy?

He pouted the whole rest of the 2017 season all the way to the SB. Some question if the Malcom Butler thing was tied to that. We'll never know, but their relationship was never really the same. I think Brady would be crazy to go back there as this point.

Indy and SD have been mentioned. One place I was thinking about was Tampa Bay. They've got a lot of weapons that Brady could use over there. Their coach worked really well late in Kurt Warner's career with Arizona and maybe they could have a similar chemistry. He also had a similar connection with Carson Palmer. If they could improve their defense and tighten up their offensive line that doesn't look so bad.

The other place which won't happen, but would be perfect is Dallas. They don't seem to be fully into Prescott and they might be right about it. They could trade Dak and get another QB if they wanted to or use the picks for talent and use Brady for two years with a strong offensive line, receivers, and everything else on offense in tact. Just prove the defense some more and the Cowboys would be the talk of the NFL just like Jerry wants them to be. Its an easy division that Brady could feast on with Zeek and the talent at WR.

Arians and Brady would work very well together.

Tampa's defense is actually very talented they're just young.

Just my 2c but can't imagine any way whatsoever Brady anywhere other than NE or LA.
I can't believe I'm saying this about the GOAT. But who wants to build around Brady? He will be 43 at the start of the 2020 season. Any honest observer will say his velocity (never his best trait) as eroded to the point of being a huge detriment. He still has the instincts, but even Tom knows he can't put the ball into tight windows, anymore. I think Belichick is ready to move on from Brady.

I think it's time for Tom Terrific to say goodbye.

Or they keep him on one more year to mentor a shiny new QB and then hire him as QB coach and/or Assistant OC.

The NFC is tough but that division is winnable, especially if Brees moves on.
AFC West is about like the NFC South, just gotta beat Mahomes.
He could follow about to be former NE coach, Judge to the Giants. Having Barkley in the backfield wouldn't be bad deal. Already has Solder there at LT.....which might elevate his game with Tom throwing the ball. The Giants have the 4, 36, 100, 132, 164, 196, and 213 picks in the draft.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jon Gruden backed up a Brinks truck to bring in Brady for a couple of seasons. New digs in Vegas, and I have no doubt that Gruden loves him some Brady. That would certainly put some butts in the seats.

Tampa is an interesting one. . .

Brady is a winner, he is not going to go anywhere just so the team can compete. The Chargers would be a good bet bet they already have an aging QB who is a top competitor. Tampa Bay is not what I would consider a good fit as Brady's game is not stretching the field like Arians likes. Indy has WR issues just like the Patriots do now. TBH I think its all just media fodder and he will be back in NE and the Pats will decide for the future if Jarrett Stidham is the guy or maneuver to draft someone they can get.

This isn't necessarily true. Only because he hasn't had the weapons to. Even with this horrible group of WR's Tom had the 2nd best grade in the league on throws longer than 20 yards down field with a clean pocket (96.5). Two years ago when he won the MVP he was leading the league in long pass completions and this was after many questioned how well he could be with the long ball at his age. That was the season they had Brandin Cooks as well which is no surprise.

I've wondered about that myself. I just wonder if Gruden could build up a team quickly enough in this off season to make them real competitive. They are in the Chiefs division as it is. If they did do it, I guess one would wonder if they could be like Gruden/Gannon.

Indy had been mentioned. I could see some nice things there, but are they really that complete of a team right now? Vrabel and the Titans had been mentioned all the way back to the pre season because of Tom's relationship with Vrabel, but that was before Tannehill went off of course. I'm sure they'll roll with Tanny now. I figured McDaniels was out there door with all of those job interviews, but now it seems that a lot of those vacancies are already filled. I think it is more likely that McDaniels stays in NE which would heavily increase the odds for Brady to stay from where they were. At first I thought that if McDaniels went to the right team there was a good chance that Tom would go with him.

They were hit with the injury bug hard this year but we know their defense is stout when health. Offensively, all they'd really need is to get him another weapon outside to go with Hilton which could be had via FA b/c they have a crap ton of cap space &/or the draft; they'll be picking in the teens somewhere. I'd sure as hell hate to see it, but he could definitely do some damage with them. Their TE group is decent & I think the system that Reich runs would be perfect for where Brady is at in his career. Ballard's response the other day about Brissett told everyone that they're not sold on him & i think they'll be keeping an eye on the Phillip Rivers / TB12 and Drew Brees situations in the offseason.

Im betting he stays in NE for 1 last season though.

Brady might be a winner but Father Time is the ultimate winner. You're right about him not being a good fit in TB. They've got some stretch the field type guys there and I just don't think Brady has the arm to go too far downfield anymore.

I think Brady would benefit more on a team with a strong run game, where he doesn't have to throw a ton like he has his whole career. Oh, and somewhere with top level TE play and a quick little slot guy as well.

I just posted earlier that Brady had the 2nd highest grade in the league for completed passes over 20 yards at 96.5 so that is factually wrong. There wasn't a single good deep threat on his team since 2017 where he led the league in deep throws for most of that season. Their offense changed a lot that season, because they didn't have Jules either and they became more vertical. Before that season, people were questioning the same thing about Brady's arm.

That was supposed to be this season, but Belicheck failed him and the team. Belicheck screwed that up as well, by waiting on Gronk all off season and letting Jared Cook go to the Saints.

I agree with Tex. Brady looks completely capable of playing at a high level & would kill with our offense.

I'm not ready to give up on Watson, not saying that. But he'd still look like a HOFer with our offensive talent

While I understand that it's inevitable that as he gets older his arm strength will decline, he is still better than more than most as a QB. With that said, leading the league in long pass completions may not be enough for the overall pic. My eyes may be tricking me but when I (only twice) see him attempt a deep ball it lacked velocity and seemed to hang. I prefer not make comparisons of opinions based on stats but if you look at avg intended air yards and avg completed air yards regarding Tom Brady vs Jameis Winston there is a big gap. This is what I am referring to when I speak of him being in Bruce Arians offense.

Did you watch the last game against Tennessee? He threw several long balls that had nice velocity. He threw a long Hail Marry into the end zone to end the half as well. It went for like 60 yards. The game before that he threw a really nice bomb to Dorsett down the field. He doesn't have a deep threat on that team. Dorsett is supposed to be one, because he has the speed, but he can't ever beat one on one coverage. Velocity has not been a problem for Brady this season. Missed throws has been here and there in certain games. Some of that had to do with him suffering from an injured Tendon Elbow that kept him out of practice a lot. That isn't an easy injury to deal with. I've had it myself. I would say more than anything the "tendon elbow" issue would be Tom's biggest concern moving forward. Is that a sign of things to come injury wise where things don't heal as fast and they hurt longer? Tom's arm was not a problem at all to me this year. In fact I thought he played better this regular season than last year.

As much as I love Brady, no way I'd swap out him for Watson. Watson is to good right now, and Brady is about to retire.

I wish the Cowboys would make that move. That would be a fun team to watch with Brady and that offense. People were predicting he'd maybe end up on the Titans earlier this year, but that was before Tannehill tore it up so I'm sure that Tannehill will get resigned. Might be a good thing for the Texans if Tanny ends up going back to normal next year and can't stay healthy.

They were talking about Brady in Tennessee and that seems to make the most sense to me. Great offensive line. Powerful, young RB. Emerging super star wide-out. A very good slot receiver. And an athletic TE.

If Brady winds up in Tennessee, I could see them as the front runners in the AFC.

That would be my luck. The one thing that would make me not root for Brady (besides when he plays the Texans) is if he became a Titan.

One thing Brady does do that Watson doesn't all that often is throw short to intermediate passes very accurately.
He also knows how to set his protection like a master.
I agree half and half on that one because it's not a full picture. Yes, Brady does throw the short and intermediate passes accurately but his offense also called them more often, schemed receivers to get open with rub routes, crosses, etc., and of course he has had better personnel for the slot and tight end more often not than what we have. Not really an apples to apples comparison. Not to mention he can call all the blitzes he wishes at the line but it doesn't make anyone block for him. Saw Watson do the same especially this post season and the line still bent faster than a Kardashian in front of a wealthy man.

Have to remember one reason we have players that are more of the middling range as blockers (except Mr. False Start) that the coaches accounted for Watson buying himself time. So yeah Brady would be a sitting duck with that line no matter what blitz he recognizes. He had much better playcalling in Pat land and personnel except maybe this past season. Even when Billy Boy was the offensive coordinator they had tons of speed and Gronk and the murderer.

If Brady is not done, he can see done from where he’s at. He’s not a top 20 QB in the league now, much less better than Watson.

Interesting. Why?
All the talk last month or so made it sound like the Pats were ready to move on. At least that's the way I interpreted it. But after reading that article & Brady seeking a commitment to the offense I see I interpreted wrongly.

Fair enough.. Guess I just never saw anything where Brady seemed desperate to stay.. rather the complete opposite in fact.

At this point, Brady is just like P Manning. He just needs eyes in the sky to give him input but he'll essentially adjust the play at the line after he's observed the defensive formation.

Most recent news has NE throwing a 30M 1 year deal to Brady.....great for Brady but damaging to the team in regards to their cap space. I don't know how the Patriots could keep their pieces and add the one's needed to make this team better. They may get a slew of COMP Picks but I just imagine those will be what turns the tide in 2020.

For promotional purposes and money.....going with the Raiders would be huge for both parties. Losing Carr could be something the team would regret later if they can't draft Brady's eventual successor in 2020 or 2021. They'd have to trade Carr but would probably get a couple of nice picks in the process. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if NE and Beli jumped at making an offer for Carr......it would be a typical shrewd Beli deal if they have to move him and his contract to absorb Brady's new deal.

For winning purposes and timing......Brady's best move could be the Bears if they were willing to admit that Trubisky was a blown pick. The Bears are truly a QB away from being a completely different team. Trubisky may not bring much back in return but his loss would be much easier to swallow if Brady delivers.

Is this how the Tom Brady in Nashville rumors got started?

Makes you wonder now where the real truth lies.............
People speculated this idea before last season actually since Tom still wasn't extended on the contract. That was before Tannehill of course, so the odds would be a lot lower now. Depends on what Tannehill demands I guess.
