Titans get flamed!

Funny stuff:

Tennessee Titans (Last Year: 10-6)

2008 NFL Draft Picks:

24. Chris Johnson, RB, East Carolina
The Titans are either really dumb or really smart. I say that because they either didn't learn a single lesson from drafting Chris Henry last year. Or, they want Vince Young to fail. Either way, Tennessee is not putting itself in the best position to win. This is a huge reach. (Pick Grade: F)

54. Jason Jones, DE, Michigan State
I'm going to copy-paste this out of my 2008 Live NFL Draft Blog because I can't think of anything better to say here:

Dear Vince Young,

We hate you. We will never give you a good receiver. We will surround you with crap like Justin McCareins and Eric Moulds. We want you to fail. We will salt your wounds and burn your lands. Death to the Philistines!

Sincerely,

Titans Front Office (Pick Grade: F)

85. Craig Stevens, TE, California
What a surprise, the Titans pass on a receiver once again and reach for another player. (Pick Grade: D)

103. Williams Hayes, DE, Winston-Salem
Who!?!??!? This is the equivalent of a guy taking Rex Grossman in the ninth round of a fantasy league because he forgot his fantasy mag and is running out of players off the top of his head. Williams Hayes may also be an assassin the Titans front office has hired to take out Vince Young. (Pick Grade: F-)

Yeah I was scratching my head with their first pick..... perhaps they are trying to save on their food expenses by replacing Lendale I guess.

I was too. Two speedy runners (QB and RB). That's fine. But guess they don't care about passing. Maybe they want Vince to just run or hand-off most of the time.

Strange.

In my mind, i think Johnson is the best back in the draft. He's the fastest on the track and on the field. He catches well and is a great 1 cut downhill runner. Unlike Henry from last yr, he has great production. He avg 16 ypc and 6 ypcarry.

The other guy was targeted by alot of 3-4 teams. Hes a big atheletic freak that can play the 5 technique. He's a former basketball player and actually was recruited in michigan as the number 1 basketball player. I hate draft grades because everyone always has something to say about what they think. In 3 yrs it will all shake out.

I think Johnson will be offensive rookie of the yr.

the Titans started this trend of ultra-stupid draft picks with Vince Young. haven't really looked back since.

They are sneaky.....I'm telling ya, they are going the triple option. It's going to set the league on fire.

Thank all that's holy that they didn't pick up Sweed and/or Charles, otherwise the Texans would have been completly pushed out of the Austin area

believe me, the austin area is pissed like when mario was taken over the "the first son of the football GOD"

Yeah... I would have started calling them the Tennessee Longhorns if that happened. Huge Longhorn fan but as soon as Young and Griffen were drafted by the Titans they became public enemy #1.

It times like these that make me thankful that we no longer have to deal with Bud Adam's BS (maniely that whole organization). Thank god for the Texans and Smithiak! :texflag:

Same here. Sure, it's nice to support ones Alma Mater. But once Vince went to Tenn. He became my enemy. Drives me crazy to hear Texans "fans" cheering for Vince when he visits our stadium. That's a sure way to get killed by the Titans.
Befriended by your enemy and then get stabbed in the back! Beware! :pirate:

On the other side of the AFC South I thought that the jags did a very, very good job with their draft....

I'm thought it wasn't that good, but I'm not from Florida, so I don't think too much of Derrick Harvey. Thats a lot of pressure on the kid, since they gave up a lot of picks to get him.

Quentin Groves was a good pick, and I think the others were all right, but they were 5th rounders so they really probably won't contribute this year.

On the other side of the AFC South I thought that the jags did a very, very good job with their draft....

I kinda thought that it smacked of desperation. It was as if Del Rio and company were trying to cobble together some kind of pass rush to rattle Peyton so they could finally sneak past them in the AFC South.

Picture Del Rio as Wil E. Coyote, if you will:

Plan to thwart the Colts option A: Acme big armed QB who looks like Gary Coleman.
Result: Failure. Del Rio plummets off cliff.

Plan to thwart the Colts option B: Acme power rushing game.
Result: Failure. Del Rio has anvil fall on his head.

Plan to thwart the Colts option C: Big physical Acme wideouts to complement power rushing game.
Result: Failure. Del Rio runs into tunnel painted on wall.

Plan to thwart the Colts option D: Huge physical run-stuffing Acme D-line to make the Colts one dimensional and vulnerable.
Result: Failure. Del Rio gets blown up by his own bomb.

I guess now we're on "Plan to thwart the Colts option E: Stud Acme bookend pass rushers."

Hopefully our OL is up to snuff by the time we play them... An already scary defense adds Harvey and Demps YEESH!!!

Uh huh, Harvey and Groves added to freeny and Vanden Bousch....that's a lot of stuff on one guys plate. Brown will either be an all pro in a couple of years or they'll kill him. prety good division rotation. their draft tells me the jags are going for broke this season.

The idea with Chris Johnson may be to move him to WR. I don't know why, as I think he will be a better RB than WR.

But if that is their thinking, he has the speed for sure, and maybe the hands.

If they drafted him to play RB, then I don't see Mr. Young throwing too many passes this year.

i personally don't want to live in a world where people are allowed to say something about what they think.

Well, the Bush administration has worked for 8 years to make sure you never have to face such a world. I think we all owe them a debt we can never repay for that.

I am really thankful I'm not a Titans fan. I would be so upset over the draft, if I was. I think they easily had one of the worst drafts this year.

I thought they had the worst draft in the league, thankfully. I mean are they just trying to piss VY off or does Jeff Fisher have a death wish?
