Thursday night football to be on CBS

Looks like it's only for 8 weeks, starting in September:

Does anyone know if NFLN will also still be broadcasting games? I hadn't realized that there were broadcast rights up for bid at all - are the other packages also being re-bid?

Yeah - they'll simulcast the 8 weeks CBS does the games, and then do their own games the remainder of the season.
"CBS will broadcast the eight games, which also will be simulcast on NFL Network, which had owned the Thursday night rights previously. NFL Network then will also televise eight late-season games leading up to the playoffs, which includes a mix of Thursday night games and two late-season games on Saturday."

Are folks tieing you down in front of the TV and propping your eyelids open again?

Just making a joke, man.

To address why I posted that, other than just making a joke, I think I had high expectations of the show and it disappointed no matter the expectations.

Why the high expectations? Actually I don't know. Robin Williams hasn't made me laugh since the '90's. :rake:

So is the NFLNetwork cut out of Thursday night games, or will they still get to
do part of the 2014 season on Thursdays ?

Just a guess, but it sounds like it'll be like NASCAR's coverage. There, CBS takes the first part of the year, then ESPN for x-amount of races, then Speed Network, something to that effect.

I'm guessing CBS the first half, then NFLN the second half. Don't know, though.

CBS. Bring back Gus Johnson. That is all.

That would've helped but even when the texans played on a Thursday night it's just harder to have big time interest. The only time I want Thursday football is on thanksgiving and in may - July when there is no football in sight.
