This Just In...Andre Ware Reports...

I just heard Rich Lord bust in with "a story that Andre Ware broke this morning..."

Coach Fran To Resign At Season's End....Richard Justice has been saying this since last week. Said the deal is done.

RJ also said he heard Spurrier was in College Station last week. Thanksgiving Friday would be a good time if Spurrier sets up shop.

610 has been a good station. I hope they are not freaking cuz of Granato & the boys. LOL

Oh wait...this just coming onto our tickers...Roy Firestone reports "that Texas A&M coach....."

Dennis Franchione agreed to a buyout Monday from Texas A&M and is out as coach. It was not initially clear if Franchione will remain as coach through the remainder of the season.

As CBSSports.com reported two weeks ago, Franchione began speaking to school officials about his buyout.

The Aggies are 6-4 after losing to then-No. 6 Oklahoma 42-14 on Saturday.

Spurrier and Mack do not get along.

Spurrier has some beefs about S Carolina's administration.

Bringing in the Ol' Ball Coach? Instead of a blank check just give him the dang book.

lots of rumors about Tubberville. Some speculation the Defensive Coor. will take over until the end of the season.

I really hope he is out the door now and not at the end of the season.

I think the problem with changing college coaches in the middle of the season is a lot of your potential signees now have no idea who they are playing for nor who they might be used; and that potentially makes them very nervous about their college football careers.

I'd be certain that Mack Brown and his recruiting staff are calling all of the kids who verbally committed to a&m right now. AS is Stoopes, Leach, the guy at TCU who's name I cannot remmeber, Nutt, etc.

Where else can they find a coach that won't run the ball at all in the first half of games, though?

:specnatz:

I am just happy to hear the Fran is officially out of here. I would love Tuberville but Spurrier is perfectly fine with me.

Dennis Franchione's days as the head coach at Texas A&M appear to be numbered.

Texas A&M is talking about buying out Franchione's contract, sources have told ESPN college football analyst Andre Ware.

Franchione has been in hot water with the university for a newsletter he was sending out to donors willing to pay $1,200 for inside information. In mid-October, Texas A&M officials admonished Franchione for his secretive, for-pay newsletter and said the embarrassing episode would be a factor in deciding whether he returns next season.

The school said it would report the results of an internal investigation to the NCAA because of possible rules violations, and Franchione was ordered to shut down his Web site, CoachFran.com. He also will receive a "letter of admonishment.""The Aggies are embarrassed right now," athletic director Bob Byrne said in October. "

This has been a very unfortunate incident we do not want to experience again."

Franchione, who came to Texas A&M from Alabama in 2003. He's 31-27 overall with the Aggies. He also coached at TCU and New Mexico.

Texas A&M is reportedly researching whether Franchione violated his contract with the income he received from the newsletter. If he is found in violation of the contract, the Aggies may not have to pay the coach anything upon firing him.

Franchione's contract pays him $2 million per season and runs through 2012. A buyout will be $141,667 per month for the remainder of the contract, or about $8 million. Ware reported Monday that Texas A&M is looking for a buyout in the $2 million range.

Ware reported that Texas A&M wants to talk to Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville for a potential vacancy. He reported that the school is working with Chuck Neinas, who runs a consulting firm specializing in hiring coaches.

Texas A&M is 6-4 this season heading into a game at Missouri on Saturday.

The Aggies may be embarrassed, but it has nothing to do with Franchione's newsletter. If they were 10-0 and heading to the Big 12 title game, the newsletter thing would be swept under the rug.

Sure, and if Mack Brown were the head coach, no one would care if six players got arrested in a nine month period.

Just putting you in perspective here.

There was no talk of the Aggies changing coaches when they went through a simialr sting of arrests a couple of years ago.

Something about stones and without sins comes to mind.

I turned on 610 just now and thought I heard Andre Ware was negotiating to be the coach. Now that threw me. I then read this thread. I do not care who is the Aggie coach but think they do need a new coach.

That's all A&M needs.

Another coach who wants to throw the ball downfield when they dont have the talent to do it.

It is all over the Texas A&M Forums.

Thank you, thank you.

Please don't be teasing me - that would be too cruel.

Crap, I knew it was too good to be true. Chronicle now says no change and they will evaluate at the end of the season. I was so happy for a little while. Why did they have to burst my bubble?
