The value of Matt Schaub

I don't know. This Colt defense is alot better at stopping the run than the one we saw last year.

They have been good against smallish East-to-West runners. They have not been really tested by a powerful North-to-South runner.

I think the Colts like TC said stacked the box and never paid for it. Which is why Andre just being there as a threat helped. Also Dayne worked against the Colts so well because their defense focuses on speed, so if you have a power back in there you'd expect them to fall forward 5 yards consistently.

I agree with this analysis as well. The loss of Andre Johnson was huge in the way it effected the Colts Defensive adjustments.

I'll reiterate what I said in the "WOW" thread. ...this team is different. People were ripping Schaub some yesterday and I didn't get it. We were down 17 pts, didn't have our top 2 receivers, didn't have our top 2 RBs, didn't have our starting center and yet he completed 14 straight passes. They were talking about this on the radio this morning too. That's incredible considering that the Colts knew what we had to do and just laid their ears back. He took some shots and still kept us in the game.

I'm glad Schaub isn't a "Made by a WR" Qb. I half expected him to suck without AJ to bail him out, but he did a good job.

I'm glad you said that because pre-game Smith said something to the effect that this team is a "system" team and that while Andre is a stud and it hurts, they hope that you plug in an "X" receiver and he still gets the job done.
