The Perfect Draft

1-Darrelle Revis
Top CB prospect to pair up with Dunta.

2-Joe Staley
Athletic LT in case Spencer is done or moves to OG or RT.

3-Kareem Brown
Big DT that can rush and take pressure off Mario.

4-Michael Johnson
Solid FS with instincts.

5-Desmond Bishop
Big hitter who can stop the run, will move to SLB.

6-Danny Ware
The Georgia RB is 6'1 220lbs and reportedly has 4.4ish speed. My sleeper pick.

7-Whoever

Analysis
Our secondary is a big problem and is the main problem on defense. It may be a result of poor pass rush, but we get a DT to man up with Mario and 2 secondary players who can make plays. Some say we need a new QB, I say we need to solidify the OL to start with. A year of experience and a better OL could go a long way for Carr. Bishop is a high instincts type player who is great vs the run. Not very good against the pass, but we now have a better secondary to deal with that and an increased pass rush. Bishop and Johnson fall to us because they won't wow anyone with their 40 time, but Demeco proved that measurables are just numbers. Danny Ware is an RB with size and speed who never got the chance to show his stuff at Georgia. He will take Lundy's spot as Lundy never showed me anything.

Respectable...are you looking for the next Tarrel Davis? Ware fumbles alot but maybe worth a shot in the late RDs.

I like it....

i really dont know. i was reading an interview about Ware and he has prototypical size for an RB and should run in the 4.45 area or maybe better. he's raw, but for a 6th rounder, im willing to take a risk.

I don't think it's about finding Terrell Davis..... we've got a lot of RBs here, we're going to have to let someone go, that someone likes..... Gado.... Taylor.... Lundy..

Don't need to spend alot of money for a position we have too many of to begin with, especially when we need real help elsewhere.

I don't see us going RB, WR, or QB until next years draft, when hopefully we aren't still looking for starters at the core positions.

2-Joe Staley
Athletic LT in case Spencer is done or moves to OG or RT. I don't see him being worth this pick. I would rather us get better value here. Maybe Sears, Grubbs, Blaylock for us instead of Staley.

3-Kareem Brown
Big DT that can rush and take pressure off Mario. I like it.

4-Michael Johnson
Solid FS with instincts. Value, but nothing special. Not much upgrade over what we have.

5-Desmond Bishop
Big hitter who can stop the run, will move to SLB. Big kid who moves well enough. Fills the holes and wraps up. Good instinces, SAM.

6-Danny Ware
The Georgia RB is 6'1 220lbs and reportedly has 4.4ish speed. My sleeper pick. I could live with it. Ware needs to work on his handles like Taylor, but has a good combo of measurables it seemed like in his limited role.

7-Whoever Insert PK or P or undersized but explosive DE not from an elite school.

Good overall mock for this early. I wouldn't complain. YTF would approve at this point.

Denver in the past has horded running backs, lets them battle it out at camp, and then takes the best ones.

Kubiak has said he wants some playmakers on offense. Dayne isn't going to be that unless we continue to play the worst run defenses in the league.

I think we can count on always taking a RB in the draft with Kubiak, even if it is late.

thanks. with an upgraded corner, safety isnt as big of a need anymore, so thats why i went with johnson. its not like brown doesnt have speed, he ran 4.47 at the combine, but his instincts arent so great.

that is what scares me about him. you may want to look at Weddel or put merriweiter in the 3rd and the DT in the 4th. Miami players never hurt a team.

You know he came out early because he was relegated to the #3 running back and with Stafford doing so well the throwing the ball there was going to be less chances for him to even see the ball.

yes i know that, but i mean, 6th round...wuddya have to lose. im just looking at measurables in the 6th round and maybe see if the coaching staff can make something of him. we took a RB last year with great numbers in college but had terrible measurables, look at how he did.

lemme put it this way, 6'1 220lbs 4.45 40yd...im taking him in the 6th if we dont have an RB yet.

Very good effort. You put some effort in your picks. I like it . You hit all the needs. Not going to pick apart your picks. Great job.

I'm not arguing that at all...... I was offering an explanation for not drafting RB until the 6th..

I have no problem dumping some of the guys we have at RB... But our first day picks will be for possible starters.

We have no starting DTs...... unless you count Weaver...... & we need 2.

We have no starting CBs.... unless you count Dunta.... and we need 2

We have no starting FS.... Unless we can get Lewis Sanders to play FS..

We have no starting LT.... Unless you count Spencer.

We have no starting C......... Unless you count McKinney(I have to eat some crow on this one...... he was the best Center on the team)...

Dayne's a starter....... I understand if you don't like him as a starter, but he's a starter.

DDW is a starter..... I'm praying for a 100% return..

Lundy, Taylor....Gado..... not exactly starters but probably as good as anything we'd get in the draft short of AD or Lynch.

I like a lot of it but I have to disagree with your first round pick. Pairing a rookie with Dunta doesn't help us where we need it most in the secondary. That would be leadership and experience (along with the ability to continue to play at this level of course). Dunta, as much as we often hear otherwise isn't a "#1 corner". His best year was playing opposite Aaron Glenn and after one season of this the Texans decided to bring in "The Phillip Buchanon Experience". We know where that went. We also know what it did to Duntas game. He got mortal real quick.

Sign a vet to play opposite Dunta. It should be the single biggest FA signing we make. Then use that first rounder for something else we need. There's no shortage of things we need so it should be easy to find someone to select.

could you elaborate on that ytf?

I mean that I think our draft would be better with a different FS a little earlier. There isn't a Ko Simpson in this draft, Nelson is the closest in terms of tallent, and he appears to be a bon-a-fide top 20. I think the Miami DT has lots of potential, but he hasn't done it before. A little TJ esque for me, but I still think he slides a bit due to that and not having great speed. Weddel is the 2nd best FS not from an SEC powerhouse after Merriwether. I wouldn't be opposed to this draft at all, because Revis is a future top tier CB in the league, but Herv is right, we need an established CB right now because Daunta can't handle #1 and I don't think he is good enough to "teach/mentor" a promising rookie.

Basicly, I just don't know anymore.

the reason why i made those picks was because there was no regard to signing FA's. if we do get a nate clements or an asante samuel, then of course the pick would be nelson or landry, or possibly trading back to get more picks. this is also assuming that these players play up to their abilities.

i'm actually quite high on kareem brown, the dt from miami. only reason why he hasnt started much was because of orien harris being in front of him. he's shown alot of talent, and is alot bigger and stronger than johnson. he's been productive when given playing time, and for a 3rd rounder, i would risk drafting him.

How soon they forget, does the name Buchanon ring a bell?

Ok, I went too far when I said NEVER.

But on physical talent alone, they ALL have it. Top of the line guys for that part. JJ ruined Miami football and their image.

For every Buchanon there is an AJ, ST, Vilma, and Reed. The point is, if drafting for physical talent in the draft to expect top production...you go with a Miami player over any other school.
