The Nnamdi Asomugha Thread

From ESPN:

Nnamdi is being pursued by 49ers and Jets. Houston is going after Jonathan Joseph so looks like the Texans may be falling back a little on the Aso race...

Per jets forum. Have not seen anywhere else.

Was going to post this...maybe they got word that he still is looking Jets and they didn't want to wait.

I'd really like to know what all Andre and Nnamdi have talked about. You know Dre's been a HUGE factor in convincing Nnamdi and McNair/Wade/Kubiak/Smith.

Go Dre!! :fans:

It would be hilarious if Houston got Aso, SF got Joseph, and the Jets were forced to go back to Cromartie.

I imagine, he wouldn't be the happiest person in the world for that first meeting.

Man what's going on its so confusing

You mean..You don't have the Raiders/49ers/Jets/Texans forum pulled up along with ESPN/Twitter? Step up, son!

At least the "Texans in the lead" has been mentioned by multiple "actual" sources.

There's nothing about the Jets Forum quote anywhere.
Plus, the guy sits in section 516 -- nobody in section 516 gets insider information.:kitten:

Until he has a bull on the side of his helmet, I'm not buying the bull. Too many players have leveraged the Texans for me to feel comfortable. I hope Lombardi's on the right track however.

Michael lombardi reports texans in the lead for aso.

Also reported we offered more for weddle, but he stayed in sd.

Were gettin close fellas

I wouldn't be surprised if "we're in the lead" simply means we have the highest offer. Just like Weddle, having the highest offer doesn't mean much to guys that want to simply win. It sucks our reputation is holding us back from improving.

I believe that after offering as much money as we probably have, we will land either Nnamdi or Joseph which either will do for me. I'm just happy to see we are doing what we can for Nnamdi. It really gives a taller tell of why we drafted the way we did.

Damnit....my POS phone is screwed right now and I went to Sprint to get a new one on lunch but the closest store is not a "repair location" so I couldn't just get a new battery or equivalent phone to replace this one on my protection plan as normal.

Now I have to wait until after work, sit through traffic and go to another location. So now I have no texts from 610 for most of the day in case this thing breaks and I can't go online ALL the time at work...

fffffFFFFFuuuuqqqqqqqqqqq...........

Not quite right

Reporter on NFLN from San Diego just now said Weddle took a walk at 3AM the other morning, came back and told his wife they were leaving San Diego. Later that morning Chargers called and just edged out Houstons offer.

I'm tired of reporting from that site and most are looking anyways but Jets board had tweet that said Jets aked him to get other offers and then come back...doubtful. I wouldn't want someone getting out ahead.

Weddle didn't sound like he was put off by Houston in the least during an interview last week. I think the biggest difference though is Nnamdi isn't going back to his old/current team. These are brand new teams in the mix, unlike Weddle, Bodden, etc.

Wow I didn't catch that post by Dx-Tex... really intereston/cool.

Pete Priscoe just on NFLN. Guy literally laughed and stated "With NFL players it is ALWAYS about the money." So dont fool yourself in thinking its about movies, stardom, Tex-Mex....its all about money.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I'm on my lunch break.

From Evan Silva

#49ers have reportedly entered the pursuit of Johnathan Joseph, on heels of report #Texans are favorites for Asomugha. http://bit.ly/kz4JK6

This makes much more sense.

I bet our preference was Weddle and Joseph, then the Chargers signing Weddle changed the game.

If I played football, it'd be all about the Tex-Mex.

More money leads to more Tex-Mex, so in reality it is about the Tex-Mex

@TheBlackAriGold Sad part is that Smith obviouslyknew he could restructure. John McClain made him look stupid by saying that

3 minutes agovia TweetDeck

Lance calling out McClain. Good stuff.

Chargers just edged out Texans in money. Read my post a few pages back.

That's not what I heard. Here's exactly what that guy said:

After Eric Weddle went for a 3AM walk around his neighborhood. Came back and told his wife he was ready to leave town. Likely that was going to be Houston which did end up offering a little bit more than the Chargers. Uh. The Chargers called and they "wowed" him. And they kept him.

I still had that on my DVR and I went back and copied that section down verbatim.

To me, that says that Houston ended up offering a little bit more but he decided to stay with the Chargers.
