MMQB
Projected Trade from NYJ. Texans receive #4 overall, #29 overall, and 2nd round pick in 2007. Jets receive #1 overall pick.
Reason: The Jets know they are going to have a tough year next year, and think Bush is worth getting, to try and be a winner in 2-3 years. The Texans are in love with Carr, but also think Young is too good for this team to miss on.
Note: Bush, Lienart, and Williams, go top 3.
RD1 #4: Vince Young, QB, Texas
Having Carr signed for 3 years gives them a year or two max, to let Young learn, and still have time to trade Carr for something valuable in return. They show alot of love for Carr, and other teams know it will take something to get the vet QB from Fresno St.
RD1 #29: Eric Winston, OT, Miami(FL)
Pitts is going to start LT, and while nobody is really happy with our overpriced Wade, Winston will battle for either bookend slot, as he is athletic enough for LT, and strong enough for RT. With Putzier, and Joppru coming back, along with Bruener, I felt that TE isnt as urgent as tackle.
RD2 #33: Darnell Bing S, U.S.C
Big bodied player, from a big time program. Big will give us another headhunter in the secondary. We need some help at safety, there is no doubt about that.
RD3 #65: Jason Avant, WR, Michigan
I have spend a good deal of time watching Avant, and the boys got hands. He makes acrobatic catches, and puts his body in harms way to make a play. Perfect counter part to Braylon last year. Will be able to compete for the 2nd WR slot. Also the release of Bradford, and Gaffney have made this pick important.
RD3 #66: Allen Zemaitis, CB, Penn St.
I like Faggins, Buchanon, and McKenzie as backups, and nickle backs. But this guy will start game 1, at CB opposite Dunta Robinson. Good size, smart, and a good tackler.
Day 2 explanation coming soon.
RD4 #97: Jerious Norwood, RB Mississippi St.
RD5 #129: David Thomas, TE, Texas
RD6 #161: Frostee Rucker, DE U.S.C
