This staff has a lot of coaches who specialize in DL/pass rush. Kiffin, Burke and DeMeco. Cesaire did a good job with what he had last season imo. Imagine if they added their “Bosa” in Will Anderson… would definitely add some teeth to that defense.

I really want Will Anderson with our 1st pick. But, if the Texans decide that Young is a franchise QB & take him, they can still draft a lot of quality defensive players in this draft & upgrade the offensive line. I took Tashawn Manning (RG) with the last pick. He's a mountain of a man, extremely strong, but not very mobile. He's a brick wall inside the booth that can't be moved. He stonewalled Jalen Carter (by himself) all day long in the Georgia/Kentucky game.

Tough crowd.
Bryce Young alone is a better pick at more important position than first three, together from Texan 2022 Draft.
I’m not the biggest fan of Addison, regardless he would be dynamic weapon for Bryce. He can do more things and create on his own better than Hyatt, Johnston or Njigba only Zay Flowers is a better separator but slighter of frame. Suppose you & OptimisticTexan (huge Tennessee fans) see no problem with Darnell Wright correct? Reminds me of Duane Brown. Except he is a dominant right tackle. PS: I’ve seen Wright as the Chargers selection @ 21. RT has been Achilles Heel!
Howard best fit is RG but has been forced to play out of his natural NFL position due to roster needs. Agree most definitely, upgrading Center but via 2023 draft class, deep enough to pull starter in 4th/5th rd. Brendel is turning 31, played in all 20 games @ Center with only limited experience before at Center position. Texans have the cap space but would prefer to spend on building a young nucleus around franchise QB. Giving them long term continuity. Getting a franchise OT in 2nd is ideal, imo. Would consider other options #12 for sure, but franchise QB & OT is what Texans should be focused on which is reason I said would not have a problem with it. Instead of Addison, be ok changing it to Hyatt, more of a straight line down field boundry threat with plus hands, then bet you like it moreI really like Darnell Wright, but it appears the Texans are sold on keeping Howard. That moves my focus to OC and RG in this draft. I’d also keep another 49’er, (C- Brendel) who’ll be on the FA market…..if he doesn’t re-sign, on the radar.
Addison frame issues are a problem for me Love mme some Wright. He's one of the best OL in this draft. I don't think he lasts until 2-32 and I prefer Schmitz at 1-12.Tough crowd.

I'm almost convinced someone else is going to trade for the #1 pick and they're going QB which leaves Will Anderson available for the Texans - and I find it difficult to believe they will pass him up.Tough crowd.

Frame issues are a theme throughout this draft. Starting @ the top.Addison frame issues are a problem for me Love mme some Wright. He's one of the best OL in this draft. I don't think he lasts until 2-32 and I prefer Schmitz at 1-12.
Here’s easy answer, you wine and dine Jalen, prepare to select him as DeMeco Ryan’s signature stamp on Texans defensive rebuild. Let duh bears chew on thatI'm almost convinced someone else is going to trade for the #1 pick and they're going QB which leaves Will Anderson available for the Texans - and I find it difficult to believe they will pass him up.
Yep he looks like a much better version of Jawaan Taylor from the Jags to me.Frame issues are a theme throughout this draft. Starting @ the top.
Wright is on the opposite side of spectrum, his size leans him as right side only protector (late 1st/early 2nd fair).

A team like the Bengals/Bills are going to have a hard time not picking him late in the 1st rd.
Here's one I did today and I like the overall result:
2. QB - C.J. Stroud
12. WR - Quentin Johnston
33. LB/EDGE - Drew Sanders
65. IOL - Steve Avila
73. LB - Jack Campbell
104. S - Sydney Brown
138. RB - Tyjae Spears
188. WR - Jonathan Mingo
201. CB - Jakorian Bennett
203. WR/TE - Elijah Higgins
207. LB - Aubrey Miller, Jr.
239. DT - Moro Ojomo

Daniel Jeremiah 2023 NFL mock draft 2.0: Tyree Wilson goes before Will Anderson Jr.; Lions take QB
In his second mock of the 2023 NFL Draft, Daniel Jeremiah sees Tyree Wilson -- not Will Anderson Jr. -- as the first edge rusher off the board. Plus, the Detroit Lions nab a quarterback.www.nfl.com
Damn that’s a lot of playersThe I traded down a lot, somebody has to stick, and a ton of draft capital to move up in next year's draft mock draft

And something like 8 picks next year. 1 1st, 4 2nds, etcDamn that’s a lot of players
Keeping it real...And something like 8 picks next year. 1 1st, 4 2nds, etc

Much as I would support Sanders pick #33 recommend changing pick to premier DT to help keep LB’s clean and stuff the run (Eagles really pushed (QB) narrative forward in my mind).I loved how both Brown and Spears looked at the Senior Bowl. Explosive players. I'm hoping Higgins can turn into a Shannon Sharpe style TE. A starting LB core of Harris, Campbell, and Sanders would look pretty good. I think Miller will develop nicely.
"Houston has not only has been bad, they've been boring."
Boring on the field, embarrassing off it. I just know things are getting better.
I'd be okay Siaki Ika or Mazi Smith at the top of the 2nd or maybe Karl Brooks in a later round. Ika is so big and strong I think he'd eat a lot of space on the line.Much as I would support Sanders pick #33 recommend changing pick to premier DT to help keep LB’s clean and stuff the run (Eagles really pushed (QB) narrative forward in my mind).
Can't see DeMeco passive @ line of attack, not coming from that stout 49er front. Hard to pass on Carter if Bears get cute and jump back couple picks thinking he will still be there? However, if that does happen, want to grab a sick bad ass DT no later than #33 maybe even #12 who could surprise and challenge Carter as top run stuffing interior defender.
No, hell no. Don't give up a penny to move one slot. We can do BPA because we have holes at QB, DL, EDGE, WR,...Dumbest prediction so far:

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Bears Trade Back To Draft Will Anderson Jr. and Quentin Johnston
In this 2023 NFL Mock Draft, the Chicago Bears trade back from No. 1 overall in a move with the Houston Texans.www.profootballnetwork.com
FTA: "Texans receive pick 1, Bears receive picks 2, 12, 65, 104, and a 2024 first-round selection"No, hell no. Don't give up a penny to move one slot. We can do BPA because we have holes at QB, DL, EDGE, WR,...
I'm just considering what we could get for number 2 from Carolina.FTA: "Texans receive pick 1, Bears receive picks 2, 12, 65, 104, and a 2024 first-round selection"
I agree I wouldn't give up anything to move from #2 to #1, but I was astonished by the absurd suggestion of giving up three 1st round picks, a 3rd and a 4th to move up one slot. That would be up there among the worst draft trades in NFL history.
To get an offer like that the Texans would have to get a serious FA to put to rest any notion of them picking a QB at #2.I'm just considering what we could get for number 2 from Carolina.
9, both round 2s and 2024 round 1. 2025 round 1.
Nah.. Hook in round 2. Can't you see fans making hooks with fingers or hands? Hook index fingers of both hands or with other fans!To get an offer like that the Texans would have to get a serious FA to put to rest any notion of them picking a QB at #2.

Finally did a PFF mock. In this, I trade up for Bryce Young. I made it fair for both sides, giving up #2, #73, and the 2024 1st from Cleveland. This is the price for Cal & Nick not firing Lovie earlier.
Lol. You mean after Miami was penalized and had to forfeit their first and fourth rounder you wanted the Texans to fire Lovie before the year was over and potentially put the a spot light on them for an investigation to look into if they were throwing the game?
This is after being named in the Brian Flores discrimination law suit.
This is after the Watson saga where the Texans were exposed for renting out a room for Watson to get massages.
This is after the franchise who had to settle with Buzbee and his clients.
This, the city of Houston who has forever been the red headed step child (no offense gingers - love your women) in all major sports and will continue to be.
This, at the point and time it is very risky in the eyes of the public to fire a black head coach after one year and not be labeled racist. (Which we know happened immediately after.)
This, after Brandon Cooks said he was going to expose the Texans when not traded.
Man, arm chair GMs are unique creatures.
I don’t see the benefit of the first pick would be if the Texans would open that can of worms.
Especially not for the smallest NFL QB who people hope will be the next Russell Wilson.
