The missing piece in our superbowl puzzle

Mr Shush

Waterboy
TE/LS Aaron Halterman (Indiana)

Yup, that'll do it.

We're losing the UFA championship horribly.

Then again, with 36 (count 'em) signed so far, the Titans are winning it . . .

Come to think of it, who is our longsnapper anyway? Is Aaron going to "start"? Can I buy his jersey?

HAHAHAHAH. You are joking, right?

What?

No!

Aaron's going to be so big he'll even be a star over here in Merrie Olde England, and I'll be quite the most popular chap in town as the first to own a Jersey with 92 Halterman on the back.

Huzzah!

It would be a sad, sad day if we needed to sign 36 UFAs...

#1. You dont get superbowl players out of the UDFAs.. not unless you are lucky or fishing for olinemen.

#2. We only had 11 possible roster spots open.. so signing more than 11 UDFAs would have been breaking the rules.

#3. The point of UDFAs is not to sign as many as you can.. they arent pokemon.. you try to get the guys that you think could possibly have enough talent to play on your team.. the Titans have signed 36 UDFAs because they are in a really bad situation and need players. They are winning the UDFA battle, but they lost the winning season war.

I hope all UDFA OT's make all the doomsayers feel better. We're addressing the problem with comparable talent to Barron!!!!

 @ the thought that signing 36 players that were passed on 255 times is going to drastically improve your team...Oh no, we're losing the undrafted free agent war, how will we survive?

One of those players listed as an OT, Tim Brown, is actually a Center. Maybe he can come make the team and then with Hodgdon, push McKinney and Washington right off of the roster.

Sounds like a plan to me!!!

I would love that...I'm not going to hold my breath but I'd love to see McKinny as far away from Houston as possible.

I posed the question of how well the Titans would do this season to a Titan fan on a neutral site. I asked what the fans on his home site were thinking as a collective (one of the bigger Titan sites).
He said they are anticipating a 9-7 season. The poster also agreed with this assessment personally. He said they believe they will be much more successful than last season. No kidding, total seriousness.
I politely thanked him, said it was interesting and logged off. All I could say was Wow.

I was a little scared to ask where they pondered their place being in the AFC South this upcoming season after that. I was afraid they could hear my laughter all the way to Tennessee and I didn't want that to happen.

After the offseason the Texans have had in cutting Foreman , Sharper , Glenn and Brown (all starters from the D last season at this time) with zip zilch nodda zero compensation for any of them . Nor did the Texans address their horrific O-line :thumbdown .......Im begining to wonder if its not us , the Texans Fan's that should be laughed at for thinking about a 9-7 record and finishing 9-7 second in the AFC South :heh: ........ I sincerely hope I'm wrong but I feel pretty strongly that the Texans will take a step backwards this season . :hmmm:

Care to explain how losing 13 or so starters in two years with no compensation and trying to fill your roster with 35 UDFA's is cause for celebration while losing 3 starters (one of those marginal at best) with no compensation is reason for doom and gloom?

Really, what hurts more--Samari Rolle lost to a $30.5 mil contract or Aaron Glenn to a $3.5 mil contract. Dyson the other starter compared to--well we didn't lose the other starter. Mason compared to, well we didn't lose a starting WR... etc. Not saying we necessarily win both games next year, on any sunday and all, but c'mon acting like they had a better off-season is reverse-homerism--would that be revomerism?

Um, I'm a little worried that some posters may not entirely have registered a certain degree of irony that was intended to accompany my little post.

The main thing that the Titans are going to do for football this year is provide an interesting case study for those with an opinion on the concept of a "replacement level player" - which is what they probably just signed 36 of. Their team ought to consist of McNair, Volek, Bennet, Bulluck and 50 or so RLPs, and if they go better than four wins their coaching staff deserve awards.

The Titans are winning the UDFA season like the Redskins usually (though not this year) win the offseason - and look what a good team they are.

All that said, you wouldn't have heard me complaining if Shazor had signed with us instead of the Cards.

The Titans signed a boatload of FA's because they have a ton of open roster spots. Most of those guys won't stick and I doubt any of those guys will start a game unless there are multiple injuries.

You can't help but feel sorry for the Titans if the injury bug hits them this season. I mean look what happened to the Texans a couple of years back. We finished 5-11. I don't see the Titans doing any better.

Careful. Jeff Fisher is one of those do more with less coaches and his teams always seem to play hard for him.

Personally, I think the Titans will be improved from last year. All those rookies they had will have a year of experiance and training. Will that translate into more wins????? Possibly one or two with an outside chance at 3 more IMO. I doubt that we sweep anyone in the division this year, but we WILL win one from the Dolts.

The Titans will be wretched. They play tons of man and have one rookie corner and a ton of questionable corners. Their DE's are average at best as well. Offensively Chow is unproven on the pro level and will have to coach up 3 rookie WR's. Roos is a Wand-esque type project at RT. I see 3-4 wins from the meatballs.
