The Coin Flip that Wasn't

Not that it ended up having a factor in the outcome of the game, but don't you think that little kid should have been made to redo the coin toss and not just throw it down? That was a poor beginning for a SuperBowl. :twocents:
Just think of the guys in Vegas who lost $$$ on that 'non-flip'... :hmmm: :shocked

I noticed that as well. The coin just sorta fllew out there like a frisbee. I bet that kid practiced all week flipping coins only to choke on the big stage.

take it easy, regardless both teams get to recieve before and after halftime, i still think regardless New England would of won it and if that had happened the score might not of even been as close as it was, plus philly scored first anyways !

To heck with the gamblers 88.. that was only sarcasm. But the opening ceremony with the flip of the coin is made to be a big deal in games. And when you have a flip that flops, that is just bad.
I wouldn't have thought much of it myself, or probably not even noticed if I wasn't hanging around a bunch of rowdies who carried on about it..
Philly won that "flip".

its not as bad as the coin toss where the ref got confused and they were all arguing about which side the coin had landed on, and i'm sure the kid was nervious, dont tell me people will look back at him in 20 years and still blame him for philly losing the game !

Again, Philly won the (non) flip.

i know so whats really the big deal !
No big deal ..
Before your time ... but in the words of Rosanna Rosannadanna (SNL-Gilda Radner)
.."Ohhh ..nevermind" .. at the end of her misguided rants.
So rant ended. :BananaWav

The coin had 1 flip to it.. well when it hit the ground it rolled and ended up on the other side.. Guess the NFL learned next SB let the ref toss the coin, or someone that is an adult.

It worked out though think we would be hearing more about this if the Pats won the toss.

So let's recap, the kid threw the coin in the air, and it landed on one of it's two sides. Sorry if it didn't spin around enough, but it still accomplished it's purpose, no biggie.

it was a fluke that it even turned one time. Betting agencies to have bets on the SB coin flip. It shouldn't be hard to flick your thumb. That kid is a big game choker

It benefited New England that the Eagles won the coin flip. New England was able to come out of halftime with all of Weis's scripted plays.

well buddy betting is a sin anyways, so maybe they deserved what they got, plus either way one party wins and one party loses regardless how many times the dumb coin flips. Some of you people need to let it go. A big game chocker HAHA he was like 10 yrs old, so i imagine the SB coin toss was his first big game ! I guess ya could say Big Ben is a big game chocker as well.

the flip has been tails 75% of the time in superbowls (even higher after this kid tried to do it)

They should send this kid to NFL europe to hone his skills, because he just can't cut it yet
