yeah I could live with that...

I might go with different players here and there but I really like that mock

If we don't go WR in the first, Spriggs is my choice. I also have Billings as an alternate at 22.

I like Johnson, it's just that looking at the deep talent at the position in this year's draft, I think we can get similar production in a later round. I'd take Hooper in the second.

Mitchell has a history of injury. This year's draft is so important for our team building going forward, I wouldn't want to risk a third on a player who has already had knee issues. I think we need a FS more so than a SS, but I'd go with Killebrew.

We do have a difference of opinion. I am of the mindset that LT is now the weakest link on the team. I have serious doubts that Brown can return and if he does it will be a far cry from his normal play. Brown's injury has been a career ender for many a players. Not only is LT critical but the entire OL could be a sieve this year. The time to address OT was last year or the year before. Not addressing it now will only prolong the agony for years to come and only kicks this can down the road. Finding a franchise LT can be almost as hard as finding a franchise QB. As for Mitchell I still think he may be the best route runner in the is draft. He certainly proved himself at the Senior Bowl and he wasn't to shabby at Georgia with some average and ordinary QB play.

I feel as strongly about the LT position as you. My first inclination was taking Spriggs in the first. We are in agreement on this much.

But after studying the LT prospects, I began liking the prospects of Le'Raven Clark. He is not NFL ready but has everything except the refinement of technique. At the time, I felt he would be available in the second. Now I'm not so sure. I've seen mocks with him going in the bottom of the first. But if we could get him in the second, I felt we could bring him along slowly and give him the year or two to develope. Admittedly, it's a gamble on him being there.

In one week we'll know which direction our Texans will take. I'm comfortable either way. If we go with Spriggs in the first, I'd not take any chances and take Shephard in the second.

Love this mock

The only thing I might do differently is add a bigger DT/DE than Blair in the 4th. (Ridgeway type) I would also add a speed WR later. I think Williams will be gone.

I see Blair as a Crick DE replacement only not as a NT/DT. That's why I have Johnson as my first choice in RD2.

So, my actual Texans draft would've gone as follows:

1. Jason Spriggs, LT
2. Bronson Kaufusi, DE
3. Malcolm Mitchell, WR
4. Evan Boehm, C
5. Alex Collins, RB
5. Nile Lawrence-Stample, NT
