Just curious, if Texans did not keep the "cigar" as evidence or do immediate drug test, what recourse do players have?
I'd like to see if the three players would actually let the league do a hair follicle test on them. Only until then would I believe that they weren't smoking pot.
I completely agree but...all 3 players submitted to voluntary drug tests already. The problem is those tests are easy to cheat. If you are really innocent and want to resurrect a career with potential millions at stake, you submit to whatever tests teams require. Why is the burden of proof on the players? The marijuana slant was started by ESPN. Does ESPN have anything other than speculation and conjecture to back up their claims?

Dishman- Totally off topic but my step son plays flag football in a Cypress little league and Cris Dishman's son is also in the league and the kid is a freaking beast. It's seriously like watching a man play against a bunch of kids. When he gets the ball, he literally will not have a flag pulled. After a while, the coaches take him out because it's just really not fair. On defense, he will bee-line from the opposite end of the field and somehow be the one who pulls the flag. I saw Dishman himself at the game but didn't want to bother him.
Anyways, just saw your username reminded me of that. Carry on...
Because the folks that need to believe these players are in compliance with the NFL drug policy are the decision makers for the other 31 NFL teams. The players can claim innocent until proven guilty, they can provide a successfully passed test they took outside the auspices of NFL oversight, and they could even potentially win a grievance against the Texans, but in the court of the real-world NFL, their innocence (or alternately, their ability to become innocent and stay that way) is 100% at the discretion of other teams who can place that burden upon them if they so choose.
I guess my point is was any evidence provided to ESPN that they smoked marijuana? If not, the players grievance should be with the network. I may have missed it, but isn't it all speculation and rumor? Sure, the 3 "dudes, 1 cigar" story is suspicious and awkward, but so far that's all, huh?
If they smoked no weed, the dug test's will show it. Evidently all 3 did take a test. Why don't they have jobs if they can pass a league drug tesr?I guess my point is was any evidence provided to ESPN that they smoked marijuana? Go to any smoke shop in town and they have a variety of detoxing kits, masking agents, and even synthetic urine. All manufactured for one purpose. I have friends that use these techniques all the time and not one has ever lost a potential job due to a drug test.
I heard the Wood interview today. He sounds sincere, but that, in and of itself, proves absolutely nothing, just like his independent drug test.
As mentioned up thread, the hair test is the one you cannot beat, afaik.
Wood has just been picked up by the Pats.....sneaky little bastards![]()

Pats going Super Bowl now! he's the final piece of the puzzle and will bust out 150 yards against us when we meet.
Belichek is happy to pick up good players we drop. He's giving PT to Chris Jones who's actually playing well and who we stupidly cut and now will definitely make Cierre Wood a useful part of their offense.

In just 6 games Chris Jones is rated 66th out of 67 DT/NT overall, and 67th/67 against the run by PFF(>25% snaps). He has 6 sacks. Earl Mitchell is only 60th/67.
How is a DT with 6 sacks rated as the worst DT in the game?
Probably because he's getting manhandled in other areas. Most DTs don't get a lot of sacks because that's not what they're supposed to do.
But I liked Chris Jones a lot and I was hoping he'd be a good player for us in the future.
The Texans released veteran linebacker Tavares Gooden on Friday and added cornerback Josh Victorian to the active roster.
Gooden, 29, was selected by Baltimore in the third round of the 2008 NFL draft. He played in just one game for the Texans this season and did not record a tackle. Goodens played for the Ravens, San Francisco and the Texans during his six-year career.
I'm watching Eagles crush Packers & they have several cut/free agent/traded former Texan players, Barwin, DeMeco (who is having outstanding game, not like Texans need ILB help) Casey, Carmichael & Maehl. :kubepalm:
so, three of those dudes are barely seeing the field...means and says nothing. Oh, and the eagles are not a good football team.

Rodgers is out 4-6 weeks. Win or not, the Iggles still aren't a very good team.Is Rogers playing? Because if he is not than it should be a win for the eagles.
