You know, it better be more than that. These are first year players... still immature. Fine them, suspend them. But train them, teach them. Not every kid out of college was taught how to be a man.

This organization can't afford to throw away potential.

Hell give them to Ed Reed and let him mentor them. Ed's not doing anything else at this time.

I hate losing players with potential.. But I guarantee they did something really terrible to get cut.

This has been the season from hell. Only thing that will make it tolerable is for Keenum to show enough to be a starter.

Apparently, they were plotting a hit on some guy that was a witness to their last murder and got caught trying to erase the security camera footage while still holding their guns.

That's what I just heard alluded to on The Blitz but I considered the source. If that's the case guys can get the boot for going to a ta-ta bar and carousing wit tha hoes?

The punishment seems a little stiff. :D
 
Just heard on the radio....wow...wonder what they did exactly. Whatever it was this is a dam shame. Was looking forward to seeing Wood get some snaps
 
Damn, when I saw this thread I was hoping it involved Ed Reed,

Ed Reed should be waived just on the simple fact that he's a heartless armed robber.. every time he shows up to get paid he does so masked and holding a gun. The guy won his SB last year and shut it down and retired.. The Texans are simply paying his social security.

This seems like an extreme move. I dont like this zero tolerance policy.

610 is saying that they just smoked cigars in the bathroom after curfew.

Total overreaction by this coaching staff while marciano is still employed.

That was the Rush and they were just joking around. Solomon said he can't comment til he really finds out from sources so I'll give him credit there. But mroe fun to guess that the guys discovered there was no sex in the champagne room so took the party elsewhere...
 
All three had character questions going into the draft. Montgomery was a 1st round guy that fell to the 3rd. Wood and Jefferson were mid-to-late round guys that fell out of the draft.

Not sad to see Montgomery go. Like I said when we took him, it was a horrible pick. He doesn't fit anywhere on the defense.

Jefferson had potential, but I expect us to address OLB next year so does it really matter?

Sucks to see Wood go. I thought he had a lot of potential and could be a long-term #2 for us.

This sounds like a Bob McNair decision and it appears Mike Mayock was RIGHT about Sam Montgomery.

I'm only disappointed with Wood, don't really care about the other two. I was beginning to feel like Montgomery was a failed pick.
 
Not a chance that it wasn't marijuana but I think that that is kind of ridiculous to expel them. But I guess if I was on a business trip and smoked weed in the bathroom I'd probably get canned too.
 
If this is for having hookers in the hotel I just don't get it.

Ok so it'd be a breach of team rules and require some internal discipline etc, but Kubiak goes and shoots himself in the foot, can't help but feel having wood suited up might have been the finite factor needed once our first two rbs went down and we lost by a single point.

Everything I see about this team this season is pointing to needing to move on from smithiak.

Our QB imploding I could forgive him for.

However I feel he's lost his locker room, made a number of shocking offseason moves, stuck by failing players too long, made poor gameday active roster decisions, made poor disciplinary descisions, failed to recognise terrible deficiencies in his oline, and gone on a ridiculous losing streak.

Baring a miracle comeback, the season is over. Might as well ditch a few knuckleheads before they encourage the wraith of the Ginger Hammer

There is so much we don't know about this. We don't know the story from the Texans side, we just have sources from a player who likely wants to ensure he gets picked up by another team. Moreover, we don't know how many violations these guys have had so far.

At least let the story develop before we use it to fit our pre-defined narratives of organizational ineptitude. We don't need this story to prove that point.

NFL players are not cut for smoking tobacco. This is directed to any of you who think players should be given more leniency, why? They know the rules and for two days cannot stay away from girls, booze, or other things that violate team rules? Give me a break. These are not teenagers but young men.

yea, they play nfl football, where they hit and tackle someone with a ball.

these guys are not public school teachers, politicians, the president, or the pope.

Fine them. Suspend them. Cutting them completely from the team is utterly excessive. Especially players with potential upside.

I find your draconian zero tolerance policy just ironic,

I would've cut them too just on the dumbass factor alone.. I'm a pothead who's not allowed to smoke and feel like there's nothing wrong with marijuana use and it's hypocritical for it to be illegal while Alcohol is.. however the "man" won't allow me to smoke and I have to be able to pass the whiz quiz whenever asked, so I don't and haven't for years, but if I could.. I would, I love pot and miss the hell out of it.

but back to the "dumbass factor", while you're blowing your "smoke" please refrain from trying to blow smoke up my ass too, I refuse to believe three grown men had to go into a hotel bathroom to smoke a "cigar".. You were smoking a freaking sweat, trees, or whatever the hell the kids call them now. You probably got cut on the simple fact that you couldn't man up to begin with. "Me and two other guys went in the bathroom to smoke cigars"... In the old NFL weekend update skit... REALLY?!
