I know there are a ton of play off scenarios, but win out and all is taken care of.

Texans 27

Titans 10

Ready for some Texans Football!

Some interesting stats:
The Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans face off on Sunday in Week 16 NFL action.

The Tennessee Titans are 3-11 this season but they are clearly a better and more competitive team than they were a season ago. The Titans offense is averaging 19.2 points and 321.4 yards per game and they are minus 11 in turnover ratio. With Tennessee QB Marcus Mariota out Zach Mettenberger starts and he has completed 67.6 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and five interceptions. Antonio Andrews leads the Titans in rushing with 519 yards and three touchdowns and Delanie Walker is the top receiver with 76 receptions and six touchdowns. The Tennessee defense is allowing 25.6 points and 344.1 yards per game with 10 interceptions, 37 sacks, and 10 fumble recoveries. Michael Griffn and Avery Williamson each have 86 tackles to lead the Titans and Wesley Woodyard has 80 tackles. Tennessee will be drafting high once again this season but they are a lot closer to being a competitive team than they were at the start of the year.

The Houston Texas are 7-7 this season and they are in first place in the AFC South and control their own destiny as far as making the playoffs. The Texans offense is averaging 19.6 points and 345.1 yards per game and they are minus one in turnover ratio. It has been a revolving door for Houston QB’ but Brian Hoyer could play in this one if he passes concussion protocol and if not Brandon Weeden os the lielly starter. Alfred Blue leads the Texans in rushing with 551 yards and two touchdowns and DeAndre Hopkins has 97 catches and 10 touchdowns. The Texans defense is allowing 21.5 points and 320.8 yards with 11 interceptions, 36 sacks, and six fumble recoveries. Brian Cushing leads the Texans defense with 103 tackles, J.J. Watt has 66 tackles and 13.5 sacks, and Whitney Mercilus has 8.5 sacks. The Texans defense is what keeps them in game and with the AFC South coming up soft what they have done appears to be good enough.

Texans win.

Mettenberger has got to be hating life right now. Every time he gets a chance to start he's got J.J. on the other side of the line, who seems to have a vendetta against the QB ever since the selfie episode.

This is the first game this season that we should EXPECT this team to win the game. I thought they could win the game and picked them to do so against Indy, but now it's an expectation against two teams that they have already beaten this year. If this team is to have any chance at and in the playoffs, there comes a point where we must expect a win from them. This is that game.

Speaking only for myself, I will be extremely disgusted if they lose this one, all things considered.

.

I can understand the disappointment, but I don't "expect" the Texans to win. We don't even know who our QB is going to be.

Our defense should keep Tennessee in check, but I'm not sold on our offense's ability to score.

We've got a rum game, but it's kinda hard to explain. When was the last time we scored a rushing touchdown?

QBs can't stay healthy. Our WRs can't catch, neither can our TEs.

I wouldn't be surprised by a win. I'm rooting for a win. But I'm expecting a contested game right up to the very end.

I expect Uncle Rico to throw it down the field more than ol man Hasslebeck. The secondary will be tested a bit more. This defense is starting to shape up the way most of us thought it would. Gonna need it to come up big the next couple weeks.

Someone mentioned a running game. It's getting better. I predict we get a bigger dose of Hunt on Sunday. I hope anyway.

The Titans suck. They suck even more with Mettenberger at QB.

If the Texans cannot beat Tennessee, they simply do not deserve a playoff spot, even representing the garbage division that is the AFC South right now.

My point is that if the Texans are expected by the fan-base to be a playoff team, then we should actually have, you know, expectations. And like I said, I only speak for myself. I'd light to think that I can have some kind of standard for this team that's not related to failure week in and week out.

Mariota's absence reverses the outcome. Hoyer's absence hurts us, but not as much.

I predict that at least two different Texans takes snaps.

I also predict that the defense pitches a shut out, 23-0 Texans

If we do shut them out, then I'll get excited about our playoff possibilities. I mean, I'm already excited about getting there, but I'll start saying stuff about hosting the AFC Championship game & such.

If you remember, Mettenberg in his last game in Houston did a HWWNBM act, being sacked 7 times. By the end of the game, I was ready to offer him a pillow to find a soft spot to fall.

The Titans are 4.5 point favorites in this one seemingly due to questions about who will be starting at quarterback for the Texans.

Most places now have the Texans as 3.5 - 4 point favorites in spite of the murky starting QB situation. My guess is that number assumes Weeden as the starter, and if it turns out to be Hoyer (unlikely IMO), it jumps by half a point or a point.

The opening line was Titans -4.5, although I haven't a clue why, and I'm guessing there wasn't a sports book in Vegas - or anyplace else - where you could have actually placed that bet.

Edit: Just saw they've officially announced Hoyer is out, so nevemind on that.

My assumption is that particular site did not know Mariota was out when it set their line. They discounted for Houston without their starter, but not for Tennessee without theirs.

Doubtful. Everyone and his dog knew there was at least a decent chance Mariota was out by Monday morning. I'm confident that possibility wouldn't have slipped by someone in charge of setting gambling lines.

I'm pretty sure someone put a minus where there should have been a plus. The Titans wouldn't be -4.5 against Clemson right now.

If the Defense/Offense/Special Teams can put points on the scoreboard the Texans should win. The Titans are playing for #1.

Then I have NO Explanation because it makes NO SENSE.

there is no Scenario WIN and Colts Lose to Miami that's it its a Wrap Pass out the hats

As I said elsewhere, you guys win this with me as your QB. Titans are the worst team in the league and its not that close. They are that bad everywhere.

I told ya' the Titans suck and this is a game we should EXPECT a win. :texflag:

Good call. I wasn't expecting them to goof up as early as their first two drives. But they did & we capitalized.

I also wasn't expecting our defense to knock them out of field goal range when we gifted them the ball on our 25.

I was wrong. I'm ok with that.

I rarely get good gut feelings about games, but this was one of them. Certainly not trying to gloat or anything. :)

No seriously, I did. The aliens sometimes give me omniscient powers without telling me. They think it's pretty funny when I'm thinking it's the weed and freaking out. ******* bastards.
