Texans VS Jets....Lets Predict ;)

They have to win this game. It is pivotal for the season.
IMO: If they lose badly to Fitz, they will open up a big can of quit
the rest of the year.

Offense is going to struggle to score with Yates, no running game and vs, the #4 defense in the league that will be well rested. The defense will cave due to all the 3 and outs. Jets in 17-6.

This game has ugly written all over it. No running game, TJ, TE's suspect and that's too bad because I think the TE's will be the key to this game. They need to win some one on one matchups. The D, obviously needs a repeat performance. A pick 6 would go a long to getting the W Sunday. This team has won 3 out of the last 4, gotta keep it going.

I'd take another 10-6 win, but I just don't see it.

This game really doesn't phase me. Next weeks game though, BoB and RAC meet their creator. Possibly the first most important game of the Obrien era

I think it will be a close, 'ugly' game, but the Texans come up short due to the lack of consistent offensive production.

Obviously, I want the Texans to win, but just don't have the confidence in the team that they will win.

Exactly. I want a win, what I expect is a loss. But maybe we'll get a nice surprise this Sunday. :)

Loss. Their crappy QB is better than our crappy QBs. Ivory is far better than Blue. Unless our staff finally figured out that Blue is horrible

I don't think our line is that bad these days at pass blocking, but they seem to suck donkeys at opening holes in the running game. That and Foster, who is the one guy that could find a hole in a perfectly working water proof container, being out is just killing us. Yates will have to get it done... I suggest Hopkins all day long.

I don't know how many schematic problem it causes, but I would love to see the old "I" formation in short yardage situations again. Keep the spacing wide enough that the entire middle won't clog up and use the numbers advantage. The defense HAS TO commit to stopping the run so the fakes are more effective even if you wind up on the edge or passing.

But there has to be a reason it isn't used any more.

Some of you guys have no faith, the Bengals were better than the Jets and we beat them in their house. It's possible Yates comes in and lights it up, not likely but possible.

Yates likes to throw interceptions... Revis likes to catch interceptions...

I know I give him a hard time, but I'm rooting for OB. I really am.

Texans 11
NYJets 9

I find it humorous when we had Fitz everyone around here bitched about his being 'barely a game manager' and saddled him with colorful nicknames like 'Pickpatrick'.. etc etc

Now, all of a sudden ivy league boy is gonna take us to task.
I giggle.

Here's what's gonna happen. Yates (read as.. our starter... even after this week) will coolly manage our pedestrian offense to somewhere around 30 points.

Our defense has a taste for victory and will hold the Jokes to 9.

Side note: I do not wish injury on anyone but if Fitz makes it out in one piece... I will be amazed.

Houston 4
New York Jets 3

This may be the first ever 4-3 game on two safeties over one field goal.

We're not going to be in first place any longer after tomorrow.

Look, there's no way the Colts go into Atlanta and steal a win. The Texans either win and are solely on top of the garbage pile or lose and are tied for first with the Colts and Jags. Either way, first place baby!

Vinnie, when you proclaim absolutes like this is typically when the universe butt-fuggs me even harder. I blame you solely for this loss and a colts win. :littlelol:

On a slightly different topic, where is the half-assed game day thread? That thing was good luck last week, let's keep it going.

Can we use this for savage, or was he never on the 53. Have we used it?

Starting in 2012, the NFL and the NFLPA reached an agreement allowing one player placed on injured reserve to be brought back to the active roster.[3] Provided that the player was on the final 53-man preseason roster (A rule exempted for the 2012 season), and that the injury is deemed to keep this player unable to practice or play football for an estimated six weeks, the player may be allowed to practice after Week 6, and be activated to play after Week 8.[4]

The players has to be designated for return at the time of being placed on injured reserve.

IMO, either the injury was serious enough that Savage was not going return to health (plenty of discussion about that from doc) or
that even he could return to health with the frame of the season the Texans would rather use this as unofficial "redshirt" year than even having the potential of Savage playing for a half year of less.

That is IR-Designated to return, which I believe was used on Ryan Griffin.

I am expecting Yates to go back to a pumpkin...Jets 24-7...in a game not even that interesting...I more than welcome being wrong in the Texans favor
