Can't block downfield because you don't know if Stroud will pass. Plenty of things to criticize Tunsil about, but not this.
Kenyon Green says hold my beer. Can't block downfield because you don't know if Stroud will pass. Plenty of things to criticize Tunsil about, but not this.
Moron... much as we're paying him he should be able to see out the backside of his helmet.
Is it scheme or lack of talent that we can’t seem to cover anybody? Dinks still killing us..Positives:
1. C.J. is still C.J.
2. Nico is a top tier WR
3. Dare showed up big in the 4th
4. The D held up well on the last few drives
Negatives:
1. The defense allowing wide open deep balls
2. Virtually no pass rush
3. Poor halftime adjustments
4. Poor run game
5. Numerous O-line penalties
6. Stevin Sims
Add DP and Jordan to the listDell had no receptions. Because he was injured. Again.
Stroud missed one right before the half.Trevor Lawrence missed two TD passes.
Not every lineman is meant to be a zone blocker, just like every RB is not meant to be a zone runner. We have some square pegs being forced into round holes on the O-line.OL run blocking is terrible. Its either coaching, physical ability or a bunch of low IQ guys on the line.
I want to know how Pederson was getting his best WR (Kirk) lined up with Pitre covering him!?! I remember several times all I could see was Pitre's name on his jersey chasing Kirk!Negatives:
1. The defense allowing wide open deep balls
Because Christian Kirk is often utilized as a vertical slot receiver and the nickle/slot corner often lands that player in their coverage.I want to know how Pederson was getting his best WR (Kirk) lined up with Pitre covering him!?! The Line needs to show some damn pride and get mean! The penalties, obviously need to be fixed.
And the 2nd down and 9's and 8's are getting ridiculous. Almost takes me back to the days when ButtChin ran the ball up the middle on almost every 1st down!
Collins is a monster. He's playing the position better than anyone thus far in 2024.Collins.. see his YAC!
NFL Week 4 Recap: Houston Texans 24, Jacksonville Jaguars 20
The Jaguars fell to the Houston Texans, 24-20, in Week 4 after an impressive game-winning drive led by C.J. Stroud, Nico Collins and Dare Ogunbowale.www.pff.com
I really think the Texans nickel CB (Lassiter) is playing outside because the Texans don't have a 2nd outside CB.Because Christian Kirk is often utilized as a vertical slot receiver and the nickle/slot corner often lands that player in their coverage.
I think they’re trying him there to see if he can make the transition as a boundary cb…but we could very well see them go cb in the 1st again next draft b/c I think Ward is gone after this year & Pitre slides back to safety.I really think the Texans nickel CB (Lassiter) is playing outside because the Texans don't have a 2nd outside CB.
We have seen many who have grabbed the fat new contract and then sat on their laurels but this young man seems to be fighting to show that he was worth it. He is!Collins is a monster. He's playing the position better than anyone thus far in 2024.
I can see Nick trading down from late round 1 to pick up extra pics.I think they’re trying him there to see if he can make the transition as a boundary cb…but we could very well see them go cb in the 1st again next draft b/c I think Ward is gone after this year & Pitre slides back to safety.
You're probably the only oneI now think CJ is definitely missing Noah Brown.
I didn’t know he had a yak
Thanks. I really respect your opinion. You're probably the only one
I know you doThanks. I really respect your opinion.
Thanks. I really respect your opinion.
Maybe, but at the same time most teams don't have a second outside corner of Lassiter's quality. In fact some don't even have a starter of his quality.I really think the Texans nickel CB (Lassiter) is playing outside because the Texans don't have a 2nd outside CB.
The week before Murray was covering JeffersonI want to know how Pederson was getting his best WR (Kirk) lined up with Pitre covering him!?! I remember several times all I could see was Pitre's name on his jersey chasing Kirk!

Pederson is a good HC, he's just stuck with Lawrence.Because Christian Kirk is often utilized as a vertical slot receiver and the nickle/slot corner often lands that player in their coverage.
Safety and DT appear to be the strengths of the draft. I would be happy with either one of those positions. Barron at UT is playing very well outside this year.I can see Nick trading down from late round 1 to pick up extra pics.
You call yours what you want to and he can call his what he wants to.I didn’t know he had a yak
Yes but if Burke continues as he is did last season, I have to take him if he's there in round 1. The dude is amazing. Also the safety from Notre DameSafety and DT appear to be the strengths of the draft. I would be happy with either one of those positions. Barron at UT is playing very well outside this year.
After Action ReviewWhat does AAR stand for?
That could very well be. Texans only played two corners, whole game. They won’t be able to hold up this pace either.I really think the Texans nickel CB (Lassiter) is playing outside because the Texans don't have a 2nd outside CB.
I wouldn't go that far. he had some really questionable calls late in that game....like calling a timeout before a 4th down try and then coming back with a qb sneak out of a formation that was so obvious, even the commentator called it out before the ball was snapped. ............... & his decision to pass the ball not once, but twice on that last drive which stopped the clock for us and gave us plenty of time to go down and get the go ahead score.Pederson is a good HC, he's just stuck with Lawrence.
We need more of that, especially if we're going to be playing behind the chains so much.Love Dare coming out of the backfield.
Then this needs to be fixed. That was my pointBecause Christian Kirk is often utilized as a vertical slot receiver and the nickle/slot corner often lands that player in their coverage.
I'm not sure it's that huge of a thing. Slot receivers get schemed open. It's actually a lot less about who's on them and more who is playing overtop. They get open because they naturally occupy the zone spaces that linebackers and safeties/nickles occupy. Unless you want your corners standing in the dead center of the field and getting ready to get run-blocked into oblivion by a lineman or a tight end this is the sacrifice that needs to be made. Then this needs to be fixed. That was my point
Other teams do not have to worry about our offensive linemen run blocking cornerbacks into oblivion.I'm not sure it's that huge of a thing. Slot receivers get schemed open. I'm already mentally preparing myself for the teeth gnashing and anger for when slots like CeeDee Lamb and Amon-Ra St. Brown get catches against us and the complaints start rolling in. These guys are really good. Their offensive schemes revolve around getting them touches - it's going to happen.
Right now they miss a 3rd CB. I know many people disagree with this, but they really miss a healthy Okudah. I wonder when Okudah will be healthy? If he cant get healthy, then trading for a competent vet CB at the deadline should be job 1 IMHO.Then this needs to be fixed. That was my point
True, getting Harris back will help in covering this part of the field.I'm not sure it's that huge of a thing. Slot receivers get schemed open. Big ups to Calen. I’ve been impressed with his play. The small details
Doesn’t sound like we’ll be getting him back soon.True, getting Harris back will help in covering this part of the field.
