This game is on Youtube. Maybe slept on this game over the years watching it again today as background noise around the house this seems like it should be a much bigger deal in hindsight for the history of our franchise.
-Dolphins were loaded with talent, favorites to contend for AFC Championship in preseason. Finished that season with 3rd ranked defense with future HOF'ers Jason Taylor/Zach Thomas/Junior Seau and a talent loaded secondary(only allowed 16.3 points per game). Ricky Williams had over 1,300 rushing yards
-Crazy this was over 20 years ago now, 21 years actually
-Our first ever HOF'er Andre Johnson making his NFL debut as a rookie in the same city where he played high school and college football, taking on an elite NFL defense.
-Jason Taylor the Dolphins DE led the NFL in Sacks in 2002 with over 20 plus sacks while our rookie QB that year David Carr set all time NFL record for GETTING sacked. Shockingly the Texans o-line keep Carr untouched and he has a great game, 266 yards with 1 touchdown pass 0 int's a 94.3 passer rating against 3rd best defense in the NFL that season.
-Also worth noting this was a rematch of Carr vs Junior Seau, who feasted on him in like the Texans 2nd game of the 2002 season vs San Diego.
-Texans overcome a 14-6 halftime deficit on the road in Miami to win it 22-21 on a last second field goal, Andre has some clutch catches to help us win the game, this loss pretty much ruined that Dolphins' team whole season really looking back(they finish 10-6 and barely miss the playoffs). Wow.
Yeah I'd have to say this was one of our all time best games so far in our first 22 years right? We really started off that inaugural season off with a huge win over Dallas but damn, we started off our second season with a pretty huge upset on the road against a stacked HOF defense.
