RB PROSISE [ILLNESS].............NEW............JUST BECAME SYMPTOMATIC IN THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS.................AS WITH ANY ILLNESS, SUBSEQUENT GAME PARTICIPATION IS NOT PREDICTABLE.

P ANGER [RIGHT QUAD]...............HAS BEEN NURSING THIS INJURY WITH ONGOING INTENSIVE REHAB............SHOULD BE THERE SUNDAY.

CB LONNIE JOHNSON [KNEE].............NEW..........GRADE I MCL.................HAD A SIMILAR INJURY IN PRESEASON LAST YEAR...................BARRING A SET BACK, WILL LIKELY PLAY SUNDAY.

DT ROSS BLACKLOCK [ILLNESS]............NEW............SEE COMMENTARY ON PROSISE.

FB GALASPIA [BACK].............THIS IS BECOMING A CHRONIC BACK PROBLEM..............WITHOUT A FULL WEEK OF FULL PRACTICE, IT IS UNLIKELY THAT HE SEES THE FIELD SUNDAY.

OT ANTHONY CASTONZO [KNEE]...........NEW.............SUFFERED A GRADE II MCL IN WEEK 12............HE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY SUNDAY.

OT CHAZ GREEN [BACK]............."NEW"..............THIS IS ACTUALLY A RE-INJURY LAST GAME................HE ORIGINALLY SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY IN WEEK 5 AND MISSED WEEK 6 AND WOULD HAVE MISSED WEEK 7 HAD IT NOT BEEN THE COLTS BYE WEEK..........ALTHOUGH UP TO LAST WEEK, HE ONLY HAD SLIGHT ISSUES WITH HIS BACK, A RE-INJURY HERALDS THE PROBABILITY OF A CHRONIC BACK ISSUE THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON..............RE-INJURIES TEND TO TAKE MORE TIME FOR RETURN THAN THE ORIGINAL...................EXPECT HIM TO BE ABSENT SUNDAY.............IF HE DOES PLAY, HE WOULD NOT BE EXPECTED TO BE EFFECTIVE.

LB BOBBY OKEREKE [ANKLE].............SUFFERED A GRADE II LOW ANKLE SPRAIN IN WEEK 11, AND HAS HAD A DIFFICULT TIME WITH HIS REHAB.............HE MISSED LAST GAME AND I DOUBT THAT HE IS ABLE TO PLAY SUNDAY WITHOUT A VERY QUICK TURNAROUND.

QB PHILLIP RIVERS [TOE]............NEW...........GRADE I TURF TOE.............HE'LL RUB A LITTLE DIRT ON IT AND BE OUT THERE SUNDAY.

S KARL WILLIS [BACK/QUAD].............NEW.............BACK IS MUSCULAR AND THE QUAD IS SOME TENDON FRAYING, BOTH SOFT TISSUE ISSUES..............HE WAS BEEN VERY BEATEN UP IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS, HAVING SUSTAINED BRUISED RIBS WEEK 10, THEN A SHOULDER LABRUM INJURY WEEK 11.............WITH THE NEW ADDITION OF A LOWER LIMB IN COMBINATION WITH A CORE INJURY, HE WILL NOT SEE THE FIELD SUNDAY...............AND WILL LIKELY REGRET IT IF HE TRIES.

***THE MORE IMPORTANT INJURIES ARE ALL I HAVE TIME FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON, UNLESS SOME TIME INTERMITTENTLY OPENS UP. IF I HAVE TIME AND SOMEONE HAS A PARTICULAR PLAYER INJURY QUESTION THAT HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED, I WILL TRY TO ANSWER.

Have you heard anything about Sanchez.

Is he going to be able to play? Prognosis?

If no, who have they signed to replace him?

The type of cancer has not been reported, but it is evidently not a skin cancer such as basal cell or squamous cell cancer or even melanoma since from what I have been able to determine it caused him significant pain. This presentation would point to a deeper origin. I have found out that he did undergo a major surgery and further treatment may be necessary. There is no chance he plays Sunday, and this season is likely over for him. As far as his replacement, the Colts have been contemplating this since the cancer was discovered a week ago.

Here is a list of the potential replacements.

We probably haven't heard who the replacement is and won't until the punter clears the COVID-19 protocol.

Losing Sanchez may also complicate the FG holder situation.

David Johnson has not been on the Injury Reports because he is on the designated to return 3 week pre-activation window (which began Dec 2) after being removed from IR his for concussion. From everything I'm hearing, we can expect to see him out there Sunday with Duke.

Evidently, during the Thursday limited participation practice Rivers totally ruptured his low grade turf toe tear which I previously commented on Wednesday, making it a grade III. Playing with that injury would not have only been painful, but could not have not significantly affected the questionable mobility he already had.
