*********WILL TRY TO COMPLETE IF / AS TIME PERMITS

*********KEEP IN MIND, THIS IS ANOTHER NONCONTACT WEEK........TAKE ALL PRACTICE LEVELS WITH A GRAIN OF THOUGHT

HOUSTON

Tyson comes off concussion...........suffers knee and ankle injuries.........consistent with studies showing post concussion players at significant increased risk for lower extremity injuries.

Howell sustained a hamstring injury while thinking about playing.

McKinney has gone from foot to heel.........sustained the foot injury in the Eagles game..........with the new heel designation, I don't believe it is a new injury, just one that is further characterized..............the injury transition points to plantar fasciitis.

Watt has added an elbow to his knee injury...............
From the Jags Game Day thread during the game:
Watt has indeed suffered a right elbow hyperextension. Even with a 'mild" hyperextension, ice, rest, elevation, compression and avoiding elbow movement (sling) for at least several days should be instituted. Watt bypassed most of those measures and immediately returned to play. This is not helpful in recovery from such an injury.............especially when dealing with a shortened week.
Range of motion of his elbow will be limited by inflammation, swelling and pain...........and the brace. He will be treated with antiinflammatories...........most likely Toradol. But with the neighboring acute inflammatory tissue changes, there will also be some weakness involved when pushing, pulling, deflecting and utilizing the swim moves.

Hopkins is still dealing with both foot and ankle issues.

JJo still nursing his neck injury

Coutee likely to see action Saturday........will remain high risk for re-injury

INDIANAPOLIS

S Clayton Geathers (knee).......has been dealing with a knee issue most of the season..........missed the last 2 games for this injury...............missed 2 games in Oct for a significant neck and concussion injury..........Dec 2016, sustained a neck injury which required offseason cervical bulging disc surgery...........began 2017 season on PUP...........then activated in Nov, but the neck bothered him the rest of the season............2017 offseason, he underwent surgery on his knee for an undisclosed injury............wasn't activated from the active PUP list until the beginning of Aug.

WR T.Y. Hilton (ankle)............sustained week 14 and has essentially not practiced since, but has not missed a game for it.................says that he has felt much better recently, because he is going to play Saturday in his second home.......................sustained a groin injury....sustained last game..........before that was dealing with a groin injury.....and before that, he was dealing with chest and hamstring issues this year...........the hamstring tear occurred in week 4, and he missed week 5 and 6

C Ryan Kelly (knee)..........sustained a left grade II MCL during a week 11 practice and missed 3 games..........week 16, sustained a neck injury and missed last week against the Titans.........MRI revealed no fractures............has been feeling better and is expected to play Sat.

WR Ryan Grant (toe).............sustained a turf toe last game and left the game............unlikely to play Sat without being significantly limited................originally sustained an ankle injury week 6 and missed several games........re-injured his ankle Dec 12 and actually still had issues up until the toe injury.

DL Tyquan Lewis (knee)..........sustained the injury last game .................sustained what was initially reported as an undisclosed foot injury (which ended up being a severe turf toe) the beginning of preseason and missed all preseason games and 9 regular season games (would have been 10 if not for Bye).

WR Zach Pacal (knee)............sustained mid Dec............played through the injury, but despite playing most of the snaps in the last game, he was not targeted once since he could not gain separation.

S Malik Hooker (hip)..........suffered a hip labrum injury week 10 [probably a re-injury......see below] and missed 1 game................has been dogged by his hip ever since.......................week 7 suffered an MCL tear and only missed 1 game because of the Bye...............Oct 22, 2017, he sustained an right knee ACL and MCL rupture and missed the final 9 games of the season, undergoing surgery on November 10.............Jan 23, 2017, sustain a hip injury and underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip after his final season at Ohio State..........Jan 16, 2017, underwent bilateral shortly after his final season at Ohio State.

Keke is full go. Figured they were keeping him safe for the playoffs.

What are the odds that he is STILL not healthy but the staff is gonna try to give him a go since it's the playoffs?
Won't give odds, but................from Injury Thread:

As has been alluded to by above posters and my extensive postings on the subject, Coutee initially suffered a severe hamstring tear the 1st week of preseason practice, Aug 3.............he missed the 4 weeks of preseason and 3 weeks of the regular season (7 weeks total)........was brought back and managed to play 3 games before sustaining a retear................missed only 2 weeks and the Bye (3 weeks total)...........when a hamstring re-injury is usually handled with longer rehab than that required after the first.............he made it through 1 game before sustaining his 3rd hamstring tear.............since then, he has missed 5 games.

If he plays next week, which is likely because the Texans will try to pull all stops when playing the Colts, this is still considered a short rehab period for his hamstring injury history this season.............he will undoubtedly return as a high risk for retearing.............we'll all be holding our breaths hoping he makes it through wherever the playoffs take us.

Man hopefully Coutee can at least run 5-7 yard shallow drags as a decoy for a half before pulling another muscle.

Howell plays hard on special teams. If you think you cannot get hurt when you run all out and throw your body like the kid does, well, that is football. He played good ST for us and I hope he can go.

He must not look good carrying the rock, not a whiff

DE Tyquan Lewis and WR Ryan Grant will definitely not be playing Saturday.

Those expeted to play in place of Lewis would include fellow rookie Kemoko Turay or Al-Quadin Muhammad. Grant played 14 regular season games for Indy this season, starting 10, and had 35 receptions for 334 yards and one touchdown. Possible replacements would be Zach Pascal (was very "unused/ineffective" last game) and Daurice Fountain (who has his own problems with his ankle).

Another Colts safety JJ Wilcox is doubtful after spraining his ankle in practice yesterday. Doubtful designation seldom results in game day play.

Geathers, Hilton, Inman, Pascal, and Sheard will be Questionable.

HOUSTON

I can't see Howell playing this soon after a hamstring that was sustained only 6 days prior to Saturday game.

Coutee will be put out there because it is playoffs.........but re-tear remains a high risk......higher than the other 3 times.

INDIANAPOLIS

[See my 2 last posts above]

Hilton will be out there even if there is no ankle left to brace.
