EllisUnit

Vote RED!!!
Let's be honest who cares about the score. But oh well

Texans 27

49ers 13

Mallett shines
Bonner shows he belongs
We see the depth of our secondary and how good even 2nd and 3rd string is.

BAM footballs back folks !

Not a score Per Se, but I think we have some good depth and the Second Half winds up better than the First Half. It would not surprise me if Savage outscores the starting QB.

Numbers will be on the score board at the end. Other than that I hope guys understand their assignments, veterans get warm without getting hurt, youngsters acclimate to the wtf speed of live bullets, coaches gain some insight, and Colin Kaepernick finishes the game with a severe taint rash.

I'm not going to predict a score.

* Hoyer plays 1st quarter, Mallett plays 2nd, and Savage plays the 3rd. And after it's done, people start talking about a 3 way battle for the starting job.
* Hilliard shines.
* McKinney shows himself to be a 3-down linebacker.
* Hal kills it.
* Mumphery has a great game.

Mallett and Hoyer both throw for over 200 yds and multiple TD's, JJ plays only 1 down but manages to get two sacks, knock down a pass and get a fumble recovery. And his one play was as a TE.

Seriously, I expect to see the depth on the Texans shine. I'm really looking forward to seeing the WR's, TE's and DB's in action.

I predict we'll all be very disappointed before the day is over. Chicken Little will run rampant around here. I may be at the front of the line with him.

I think our OL is going to look horrible, which will lead to poor running & poor QB play. We're going to be reminded how thin we are at LB, both onside & out as none of them will make a play worth mentioning when the first & second team is on the field. Jj Watt will play maybe half a dozen snaps, other than those 6 snaps, we'll be sorely disappointed.

Everything we've done so far to rationalize our off season & get behind this team will be destroyed in the three hours it takes to play the game.

We win 42 to 10. We over hype the team and get beat next week.
you may be closer to the truth than you know. What's really going to bake everyone's collective noodle is both QBs will look good against the depleted Niners so O'Brien STILL won't make a decision.
:)

2015 preseason is here, therefore I am back! I hope the Texans do very well this season and exceed my expectations.

I hope that the Texans win tonight, but my gut feeling is that they won't. No big deal, because it is preseason!

Looking forward to watching my team this season! Go Texans!!

Hmmmph.... I was wrong. no reason to panic just yet. OL looked aiight. If XSF isn't who we though he was, or if he's hurt, I'd be interested in seeing Ferentz at center with Jones back at LG.

All three QBs looked good. Nothing flashy from any of them. Nothing to say one was clearly better than the other. Tom Savage looked better than I expected. But the whole team looked better than I expected. This time last season, there was a lot of confusion even on the first team. This year, even the thirds & fourths looked properly prepared.

I was somewhat disappointed with the running backs. They looked better as the substitutions increased. They've got a long way to go before the season starts. I still think the talent is there, the reading & ability to play off those blocks is what's lacking. A little speed would have been nice, but it is what it is for now.

LBs not impressive, but fairly solid. I expected to see more out of John Simon & Mercilus, but Whitney dropped into coverage a lot more than I expected. ILBs... can't really say without Jj & Vince up front. The young corners looked good.

Far as I know, no injuries.

In the spirit of TK:

I'm not going to predict a score.

I expected Hoyer to play more. But at least I was right about him starting. I meant to write "Savage plays the 3rd and 4th", but whatever.

Savage did play well.

* Hilliard shines.
* McKinney shows himself to be a 3-down linebacker.
* Hal kills it.
* Mumphery has a great game.

And on every other point, I was completely wrong.

Texans 20, 49ers 7. (What I predicted before the game but didn't get in in time.)
