Texans rule out hike in ticket prices

After last season’s disappointing 6-10 season, the Texans are not increasing ticket prices for the first time since 2006.

“We have a great relationship with our ticketholders, and by holding the prices, we want to show them how much we appreciate their support,” Texans president Jamey Rootes said Friday.

The Texans have sold out 90 consecutive games – every game in franchise history. Last season, their average ticket price ranked 16th in the NFL.

In accordance with a league-wide ticket-refund policy established in November by commissioner Roger Goodell, fans will be able to get refunds for preseason or regular-season games that are cancelled because of a lockout.

Unless the owners and players agree on a new collective bargaining agreement, the players are expected to be locked out on March 4. If the lockout extends into the preseason and regular season, fans having tickets will have the option of being reimbursed in the form in which they paid for their tickets or for future tickets.

Refunds will be paid with interest no later than 30 days after the NFL determines how many games will be played in the 2011 season.

True, but the texans FO sold it that Kubes was coming home and we were taking an important step forward as an organization.

In this case, it is clear to everyone we took a step back. Plus in this economy, raising prices after a pitiful season may piss off your season ticket holders more than keeping Kubes ever did.
