texans record

whats everybodies predictions for our season coming up? as far as our win/loss column is concerned

The optimistic side of me wants to say 16-0. The pessimistic side wants to say 16-0.:chicken:

i, as well as many on here, predicted 8 wins before preseason started. after preseason, it appeared as if we would only win 4 games, but we won just 2. im going to hope for 10 wins. preseason will give all of us a better vision of where this team is going. i know preseason is preseason, but last yr it wasnt pretty for the texans and it continued into regular season.

This is my opinion: Link

I think preseason predictions are kinda ridiculous but the link has a lot about some of the strengths, weaknesses, and mostly questions about the Texans.

My projection is 7-9 or 6-10. As a new Texan fan I have hope that this year will be better than 2005 due to the new Coaches/system, Carr coming into his own, the offensive line getting better and the defense doing its part.

BT

I think this is a better team than the one we had two years ago and they went 7-9. I figure that makes us good for 8 or 9 wins.

6-10
Wins: Tenn., Jax., Buff., NYJ, Oak., Clev.
Losses: Philly, Indy (x2), Wash, Miami, Dallas (it kills me to type that), Jax. NYG, New Eng., Tenn.

The start of our schedule is brutal, I think 0-5 is a real possibility. If we get off to a slow start I
hope things don’t snowball.

Overall I would be real pleased with 8-8.

I want to say 6-10 or 7-9.

The team is infinitely improved from last season but we are a brand new team - again. We have a tough schedule to play, during which our team needs to develop chemistry. We are also weak everywhere on defense, except for the line, and could do a lot better at RB. I think we finish at 6 or 7 wins and will be upset to see us finish with less than 5.

I think everyone on here can at least agree as long as we beat the COLTS for the first time that would be great, and see Peyton Manning getting life flighted out of Reliant after Mario gets a hold of him.......:fireball: :crutch:

I'd rather us go 6-10 and lose to the Colts twice than go 1-15 and beat the Colts. And I can't sympathize to your wishes of any player being life flighted out, much less hurt at all.

Tough question, but here is my answer:

We will be a heyll of alot better than the 2-14 that constituted last season.
:shades:

1.WE WERE NOT a 2-14 team talent wise last year.

2.Lost 6 games by 3 points or less? something like that right?

3.We are a better team this year by far, from coaching and by FA/draft............11-5

Talent wise?? I'd say we were definetly a 2-14 team last year. Talent only goes as far as coaching can make them go. And I think we just failed to execute...

Wouldn't that just be the greatest thing in NFL history for us to have an undefeated season all the way into the postseason? It would shut up the guys at ESPN, thats for sure.

7-9 here. Tough schedule even though we are supposed to have the easiest..... guess that is the price of being in the AFC South.

Yea and maybe Dom and Pendry should still be here we would be better off. Like I said talent wise we were not the worst team in the NFL.

No, that would only fuel it more.

"See what this team is doing now? Imagine if they had Reggie Bush!"

"Well, they are undefeated going into the playoffs, but their roster lacks a leader who has a championship. Perhaps they are second guessing themselves for taking Mario instead of Vince Young!"

How do you manage to go 11-4? Cancel a game?

1. WE WERE a 2-14 team last year. Scoreboard, man. Talent level is not kept in record books.

2. First 6 games without a single lead...first time since 1933. That ain't right...

3. Completely agree! This is a while new era in Texansland, and I have no doubt that we'll have a winning franchise.

:texflag: 11-5 would blow my mind

My prediction is 8-8, but the the above (10-6) is very possible.

When you've got a good pass rush and you know how to use it, **** happens. :)

Actually, I think beating the Cowboys is probably our number 1 must win game this season.

While I'd love to finally grab a win against the Colts, we only get a chance to whip the Cowboys every four seasons.

Agreed. Sure would be good to take the Colts too, though. I think we may be ready for our home game against them. Manning better pack a lunch.

I'm thinking realistically 5 to 7 wins, but I'm hoping for at least 8. Anymore than that would be great, but I think we would have to have alot of luck ("ball bounce our way," no major injuries, unknown players stepping up, etc..) to win more that that. But that's ok. Like someone posted above, "Rome wasn't built in a day." :gotexans1

Anything is better than 2-14, also look for a few good upsets, the Texans might pull off, some teams still believe we are still the same old losing team we were last year...............:fortune:

This is before the first preseason game? Regular season record will have us at 10 wins. Give or take a few so between 8-8 and 12-4. My perception is based on very little thus far but high hopes currently glide me.

I agree with your prediction 100%.

Fine w the 11-5,

So are you telling me the better team and more talented team wins every sunday?

1 | at Buffalo Bills | L | 7-22 |
| 2 | Pittsburgh Steelers | L | 7-27 |
| 3 | |
| 4 | at Cincinnati Bengals | L | 10-16 |Lost only by 6
| 5 | Tennessee Titans | L | 20-34 |
| 6 | at Seattle Seahawks | L | 10-42 |
| 7 | Indianapolis Colts | L | 20-38 |
| 8 | Cleveland Browns | W | 19-16 |
| 9 | at Jacksonville Jaguars | L | 14-21 |Lost by 7
| 10 | at Indianapolis Colts | L | 17-31 |
| 11 | Kansas City Chiefs | L | 17-45 |
| 12 | St. Louis Rams | L | 27-33 |Lost by 6
| 13 | at Baltimore Ravens | L | 15-16 |Lost by 1
| 14 | at Tennessee Titans | L | 10-13 |Lost by 3
| 15 | Arizona Cardinals | W | 30-19 |
| 16 | Jacksonville Jaguars | L | 20-38 |
| 17 | at San Francisco 49ers | L | 17-20 Lost by 3
So we lost 1 game by 7, 2 games by 6, 2 games by 3 and 1 game by 1.
So 6 games we lost by less then 7, we pull those out and we have 8 wins with a sorry scheme, just think what we will do with the scheme we have now.

I love the 11-5 record...........

I have to agree, you may even have twice as many wins as you did last year. :stirpot:

I'm just gonna throw somehting out there. I hear alot of folks talking about pass rush and how we will be much improved, I agree, personally though I think the pivotal games this year will be about run stopping. teams like pittsburg, philly, etc. face it we got killed by 7 to 15 yard runs last year on 2nd down/ 3rd down. if we cant stop the run we wont have to worry about our pass rush. I think our front 4 will do ok with smith and weaver but our LB corp i think is still a question mark. hopefully ryans and cowart will be the beasts in the middle we need. but I'm a little nervous about that. thoughts?

REALLY I believe DeMeco is going to turn a lot of heads, Morlon is fine for now I guess untill Wong is healthy and I believe Orr is going to do a good job...........Now those are no Ray Lewis types(I dont think) but all you need from your LBs are to be tough smart guys that just play football, I think those 3 guys do just that.

But really Morlon scares me in coverage, a lot! Hopefully it was just the scheme which I believe hampered the team more then people think last year.

switching defenses to a 4-3 should help alot. I think Buchanon will be the corner we all hoped he would be because now teams won't have as long to see the field. If the offense can stay on the field a little longer that should also help. I think Ryans will be the next Zack Thomas if not better. Good job of making our defense more respectable. My prediction for next season 7-9.

By the end of the year Coach Kubiak will be the biggest
offseason pickup by any team in the league.
The Colts will fall off this year and the Jags can't repeat
last season. This will be a breakout season for the Texans
as they take the NFL by surprise.
Even with a tough schedule look for a 12-4 record and
a shot at the superbowl.

I'm going to go the safe route and say the Texans go 8 - 8 or better, but 7 - 9 is the minimum - I wouldn't be mad at either of those records. Either way I hope they exceed my expectations.

8-8. Better talent that we had two years ago and with new coaching we'll have a better team.
We upset the Eagles, all things are possible. Gonna wait on this see what evolves in camp. A lot is going to ride on the Wand /Spencer battle. That hasn't even start yet. I'm with Texas Sam at this point. Just can't see 'em getting off to a 4-2 start with that opening schedule. Brutal.
