Texans re-sign Keenum

true but we faced a tough ravens team.

They may be a tough team, but the Ravens offense performed horrifically today...our defense gave the offense, what, 5 drive starts inside Ravens territory, and the offense punched it in the end zone once on a trick play. This win was entirely the efforts of the defense in conjunction with some major futility by the Ravens.

Lol Ryan Fitzpatrick, go home, you're drunk.

it wasnt entirely 100% on the defense even though the defense was elite. ravens were getting frustrated with the quick throws and mixed up plays to keep them off balanced.

you can criticize case for everything lost last year but give him no credit on anything for this win is BS.

case's pocket presence and blitz awareness was light years from last year.

Yeah it was! Impressive, lots of credit to Keenum

No doubt but hard to say Keenums 0 TD day was better than Fitz 6 TD day, i mean we did kick 6 FGs and Foster threw the only TD, BUT i give Case credit he didn't make many mistakes.

That's all this team needs from qb to be a viable team

For basically coming off the street, you're right, the guy deserves credit. Part of the red zone woes may have been conservative play calling in the red zone. With the way the defense was completely shutting down the Ravens offense, BOB may have been happy stacking field goals today. I'll be curious to see how Keenum plays against a very tough Jaguar front line next week. I think the biggest problem today was 22 incomplete passes, but 1 INT in 42 throws was pretty decent. Heck, the guy looked better than Flacco today!

i'm not saying keenum is the answer but coming in with these circumstances was excellent for case.

22 incomplete passes has to do with keeping the deep ball in check. they made passes deep and used the wildcat and trick plays to keep the the ravens elite defense in check.

This is 100% spot on. Defense and ST won this game. Flacco had more completions to our team than his team just before half. Our offense was in neutral most of the game.

Fitzpatrick has the exact same game today and this MB would be calling for his contract to be shredded.

What are you talking about? Fitzpatrick has been complete trash and an absolute liability all season.

Give keenum some credit. He had to relearn the offense in such short notice.

Fitzpatrick has had all season and still plays like a scrub.

been a fitz supporter all year. but he lost his job and is responsible for last weeks lost.

i'm glad case was able to come in off the rams PS and contribute to the win. last week both fitz and savage contributed to 3 pts only last week with a loss. they've been on the team all year.

give Case some credit, this wasn't an easy game.

And if Case had been born in Arizona and played college ball in the northeast people wouldn't turn every blind eye.

IF i was bill gates i would buy the texans, IF i were to buy the texans i would have the best seats in the house, IF i have the best seats in the house i would be king, IF i were king i would.....

IF only....

IF, IF, IF, IF only

I've watched Fitz. In the meat of the schedule, he failed. Great against the dregs of the league. Against good teams, he's over matched. Which is why he was benched (at least a game too late, IMO).

I don't know who the QB for the Texans should be going forward. I don't know if that QB is on the roster. I do know that QB is not Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Now, let's give Case Keenum his thread back. He deserves it.

This one or the all encompassing one?

Keenum wants to play for the Texans, so if there's any way possible, he'll be back next year. I'm happy as hell to see him finally get a win. As a Houston player. He pretty much looked like Keenum, some good stuff mixed in with a lot of inconsistency, and hopefully he can get past that.

Yep. I'm happy for Keenum.

Keenum was not impressive today. The offense was designed to shield him, but he couldn't ever convert in the red zone. You could feel that he wouldn't. Okay, everybody who wants to, start shooting.

Who has the better defense, Baltimore or Jacksonville? We'll see how Keenum does one more time before the off season. As much as I would love to see Keenum succeed, he still looks like a back up.

Maybe another offseason and training camp with the Texans he can improve. If he even stays with the Texans.

The only QB I'm truly excited about right now doesn't have a name because he isn't on the team yet. Whoever that might end up being. I liked Mallets one good game, but it was, after all, just one game.

Yep, coming out of college Gary was the only guy that
saw value in Case -- and Case isn't going to forget that.

I'm guessing when BoB decides, yet again,
that some washed up vet like Fitz is better than Case that
he ends up reunited with Gary as a backup at BAL

If you don't tear up looking at this, you're not a Texan fan.

Technically BAL didn't have a chance, because STL got first
shot because of their draft order.

And no one was going to make a roster change super late in the
season, so it was a calculated risk for STL to PS Keenum when they
did..

Keenum would not have been available except for injuries outside
of the QB position that happened to STL later in the season
forced them to PS Case.

No, they had a chance after we cut him and didn't sign him. I still don't think Gary is high on Case. May like him, but not as a qb.

Why past tense? He's still a good person, was just a crappy head coach.

Past tense as in when he was here i liked him as a person, he is no longer here though. But i still like the guy, hell i wish he would come be our O.C !

Guess where Keenum ends up next year if it's not the Texans.

He'll probably end up back in St Louis..... where Kubiak will take over for Fisher.

Or New York. Can you imagine the Jets & Kubiak after Rex? Culture shock.

St Louis cut him to put him on the practice squad. If Kubiak wanted him, he could have got him. & like us, could have got him any time Case was on the practice squad.

Can you imagine this place if Kubiak and Case take the Jets into the playoffs? LOL

I am all about second chances and Case proved himself today. To come in on Week 16 and win, facing a tough Baltimore defense. Unbelievable! Texans O-Line protected Case with zero sacks by Baltimore's defense. Case played like he was here all through the regular season. Congrats Case!

Kubiak could make a recommendation, but Ozzie Newsome makes the personnel decisions in Baltimore.

and Case showed absolutely nothing prior to today to even be in the discussion

He showed nothing today imo other than he can manage a game. I mean how many times was the offense in the redzone and settled for a FG. I know play calling played a small role, but come on

Proved himself? Hahaha some people have serious addiction problems. Put the pipe down.

actually, some people root for anyone that's at qb. I rooted for fitz, mallet, savage, and now case.

it's called loyalty to our team. Texans only beat the bills and browns who have winning records, with the bills being the only good team, and now beat a hot ravens team. give a little credit case isn't the solution but he most likely go 2-0 with a possibility (small) to go in the playoffs.

Oh I totally agree, but prior to today, nothing.

A few teams out there could use a good game manager as a backup
