I have to appreciate and commend not only the amount of kool aid flowing through your veins but also how far seeing it is.
Kudos, my friend, kudos.
Let's be honest. 2012 made that stat, for whatever its worth. Matt Ryan has been impressive in that stat for years....not sure I would label him "great".
yeah, good points. And I had no idea that Ryan had so many game winning drives.
27 since 2008. What a badass!![]()
PManning said he always hated that stat. Said if he has a "Game winning Drive" it means he didnt do his job the first 3.5 qtrs of the game....
I've heard that quote from Manning, as well. I understand his perspective, but at the same time, I do think it is one of the good metrics for analysis of a QB among others. I'd rather have a QB that can finish strong as opposed to one that starts strong but cannot consistently finish the job.
Or a QB you can count on when you need one last drive....
Ha ha...I admire your imagination....there's about a billionth of a chance that this happens....

Peyton shouldn't be ashamed of that stat. Sometimes it's out of the qb's control. The defense could of given up a score in the final minutes. Doesn't mean Peyton could have done something before that could have prevented that.
OK, probably the 6th seed winning the 2 playoff games won't happen, but it is not about realistic possibilities, just mathematic ones. Still, I would like to see it happen - mostly for the crapfest that would ensue when the Texans starting cancelling PSLs for people that they told "there can not be a home playoff game".Ha ha...I admire your imagination....there's about a billionth of a chance that this happens....
Same here. I said from the start we had no chance and obviously I think we don't, but I love the kool aid drinkers, and I'm not kidding.
Yes... I'm going to be that guy. Playoffs still not out of the picture.
Obviously, we MUST win the next two games. Tall order with whoever we throw out there at QB, but crazier things have happened in this league.
What needs to happen.
Week 16:
Steelers over KC in Pit
49ers over Chargers in SF
Week 17:
Browns over Ravens in Bal
Patriots over Bills in NE
49ers over Chargers would be a minor upset, but a very winnable game for SF. Browns over Ravens in Baltimore will be extremely tough, especially if Manziel plays as bad as he did today. But the Jags almost pulled off the upset over Baltimore, so who knows?
Week 16
49ers over Chargers
KC over Steelers
Week 17
Bengals over Steelers
Of course Texans win out.
That doesn't quite workout. Ravens & KC are the wildcards with 10-6 records.
I don't think we can avoid requiring the Browns beat the Ravens in week 17.
If we win out, steelers lose out, chargers and bills split. Of course KC loses week 17
Once again I was proven wrong... thanks! This works. Since the Chargers must split, and KC loses in week 17, that means Chargers must lose to the 49ers in week 16.
Just to recap:
Week 16:
KC over Pit (in Pit)
SF over SD (in SF)
Week 17:
NE over Buf (in NE)
Cin over Pit (in Pit)
SD over KC (in KC)
OK, since everyone wants to know:
Fred Koolaid Recipe:
1 bottle of Everclear
Battle Red Food Dye #2
Open bottle of Everclear. Add the same number of drops of Red dye as JJ Watt had sacks last week. Enjoy!
We need a good quarterback, perhaps even an elite quarterback, if we ever expect to win a Super Bowl or actually defeat the Indianapolis Colts on the road for the first time in franchise history (0-13 now).
Making the playoffs is nice. We've done it twice before and even beat the Bengals in a couple of wild-card games, but I'm tired of not being a realistic Super Bowl contender. Until we find that special talent at the quarterback position we'll always be in this same situation. Wondering, hoping, relying on the next draft or free agency to sort of save us. Our franchise is only respectable right now because of J.J. Watt's MVP caliber performance this season. He's had one awesome year to say the least.
All we need is quarterback who can kick ass and take names. A lot of teams are in the same boat as us. Those teams, for the most part, don't typically go to the playoffs or reach a Super Bowl. Bill O'Brian is a heck of a head coach. I'd argue he's the best head coach in the AFC South, even better than Chuck Pagano of the Colts. But Pagano has Andrew Luck he can lean on. We don't have jack-$hit at quarterback if you know what I mean. Pardon my frustrations. I hid it with a dollar sign.
How can you become a Super Bowl contender without being a playoff contender first?
Non sequitur. Are we eliminated?
His underlying point is that making the playoffs doesn't matter to us anymore if we're not going to contend for the Super Bowl. Well, you can't make the Super Bowl if you're not in the playoffs and there are 10 teams every year that make the playoffs but don't make it to a Super Bowl. I'd gladly be one of those 10 teams every year regardless given the choice of being one of those 10 teams, and not being so.
More "if you ain't first, you're last" nonsense from the modern day sports fan mentality.
The way I see it, if you're a Super Bowl contender, you're in the play-offs every year. If you're a play off contender, sometimes you make the play-offs, sometimes you don't.
Even though you're on my ignore list, I checked to see if you replied to me because I knew you'd misunderstand me----as usual. Sure enough you did.
Really bad liar.
As opposed to a really good professional liar?
ps READ WITH HUMOR!
go 'niners! 0-14
edit:
0-21
btw the gamecenter on nfl.com is broken, or is it just me?
I know I shouldn't get my hopes up.......
Sigh. Go Niners.
Here is the game report I would file:
Dominating first half by Frank Gore gave SF a commanding 21 pt lead at halftime. However, an even more dominating 3rd quarter performance by Jeff Tripplett got San Diego within one score. San Diego will need someone besides Tripplett to step up if they are going to win, though. (35-21) with 9 minutes to go.
Kaepernick while extremely athletic plays with very low football IQ
I would take him over what we currently have.
I would take him over what we currently have.
Our 4th string qb off the street?
Yup.
I would take him over what we currently have.
Kaep is worse at reading defenses than Keenum. He is just a faster VY

Need a miracle! Hard to imagine SF winning this one.
