Texans are interested in Mexico City game. May happen in 2016. What do y'all think of this? Doesn't really matter to me, as I only get to attend a game every couple of years.

I thought the intent of international games was to attract new fans, not subject them to abstract misery! The most natural match up in the league for a Mexico City game would be Texans v. Jaguars.
Now the Texans can suck in multiple countries!!
What better place for crap to spill into than a crappy country like Mexico? And it's local. Low shipping fees. LOLAfter seeing all the crap on the field this season...... you HAD to expect it to spill over and land somewhere.

That sounds like a good idea. If memory serves, the Oilers played a game there once.Texans are interested in Mexico City game. May happen in 2016. What do y'all think of this? Doesn't really matter to me, as I only get to attend a game every couple of years.
How about trying to improve the on the field product 1st?
If my team looks as bad as the Texans current trainwreck and I were McNair I would want to take my team to another country too.
I'm against God'ell's greedy globalization of the NFL. Fans in the U.S.A. have made this game our national pastime and God'ell is willing to sell it all for a couple of extra pounds/pesos.
HK and now this, yep McNair is all about the $$$$.
The games here in London attract a sh!tload of US expats and military personnel living in Europe. I for one have been very grateful for these games. 6 teams come over every year for three games, so not sure how McNair is any more greedy for wanting a Mexico game than the other owners who have teams coming to London.
Next Saturday is NFL on Regent Street which takes place right outside my office. Huge street party with all kinds of interactive crap. Best part will be the Ohio State University marching band performance.

FFS, McNair didn't have a choice on HK.
You know this for certain?
I remember McNair saying that he wanted his team on HK and now we are starting to see more results of putting marketing over winning.
On the bright side atleast he got HK out of the way when he knew there was no chance of winning a SB with the QB's on the roster.
Yes. The rules are public. Of course he tried to spin it.
Back in the Kubiak years he lobbied hard against it. There are two possible conclusions - OB wanted it or he ran our of steam in avoidance and so tried to make the best of it. The latter is most likely.
Everything is not evil. Geez.
I hate this article. Not because the Texans are trying to expand their market. That's what businesses do.
I hate it because this is apparently the only 'good' news in Texansland. Not winning. Not acquiring some young up-and-coming QB with unbridled potential and deep passion for the game. Not dominating our division.
It's more myopic focus on expansion of a brand with absolutely no admittance to that same brand being in the middle of abject failure.
It sort of reminds me of when McDonalds opened a franchise in Moscow. Woohoo! Now Russians can eat crappy American fast food, too!

The Texans are a marketing org with a football division.
It is what it is.
I think they should be interested in winning and finding a competent quarterback and forget about adding layers of stress they cant handle.
Hey McNair, when you get done with Mexico and England and whatever worthless country you can think of, how about you think about us in Austin for once? Bastard.
If he stopped the marketing, do you think the winning would start? It's two totally different operations working on parallel paths. One just happens to be producing better results than the other. That's all.
But I guarantee you there aren't any thugs in the marketing department either if that makes you feel better.
He focuses more on the marketing side than the on the field product side and for good reasons.
Just to get this straight. You're not one of the guys who says he muddles too much in football operations, right?
No he muddles in both, he's just better at the marketing side and frankly he should stick to that side and hire a competent football man.
If you had to guess, who is the next Jimmy Johnson/Bill Belichick? It looks to me, that's who he is trying to find.
If we sell the Texans to Mexico City, can we start over with a new expansion squad?
Nate Newton & Michael Irvin love El chapos idea.El Chapo says don't bring that chit in my country , bring Cowboys vs Packers .
No. We'd have to hope another owner of a losing team will want to bring his franchise to Houston; St Louis, San Diego, & Oakland are in the mix, I think.

Rumors floating that the Titans are unhappy with their stadium. Now that Bud is gone, bring that franchise back to Houston and they still own the Oilers name. We'll forgive/forget the 2 decades they whored themselves out to Tennessee.
It's been a very long time since it has been done, but I wonder what we could do with a merger of the two teams. Would we get to select the best from each to fill up a roster? Would we choose to name one organization as the top dog and retain their FO or wipe the slates clean and begin again?Yes we will,
There are people in town that would pay big $$$$ to bring the Oilers back to Houston and develop a ring of honor for all of the former Oiler greats.
