how does it impact us? Doesn't push a player to us that I can see.

More resources for any afc south team will always be a problem. I'd love to have 3 2nd round picks. How bout you?
yea, but I rather have deshuan. only way we would be in position for that top happen is to not have traded for him, in which case we would be drafting a qb instead of trading back for one.
3 spots in the first round vs 3 second round picks. This trade favors the colts I fear.
The Texans are sitting on "Texas Tea" in RD3 and RD4. RD3, they have the 4th pick and in RD4 they have the 3rd pick. If Texans have multiple targets still on their board in both rounds, those could be some sweet spots for teams desperate to move up and possibly target some of their desired prospects.
Gaine and Company hopefully have "shrewd" flowing through their veins on draft day. No telling what they could obtain pick wise on a couple of savvy trade backs.

Don't you think it's pretty clear that Kaepernick wouldn't sign here and McNair wouldn't sign Kaepernick? Flying in to witness McNair's deposition is the cherry on top.We do need a back up quarterback that’s has the same mobility as Watson. He should at least get a tryout.
I can’t think of a reason why not?

No. I think you'll figure it out on your own.No it’s not clear. Please elaborate.

Maybe you're being intentionally obtuse? Then why did you ask the question?
Maybe you're being intentionally obtuse?
Why do these threads seem to always turn out like this?
I was looking for a change from the usual back and forth that happens between you and infantrycak.
Please resume telling us how the Texans org does things wrong.
Gaine hasn't done a bad job this off-season. But if you notice he's working on a shoe string budget, while other teams in the division are spending money.

No he's not. Players have just decided to go elsewhere.
There was a peak of sunshine in your post and I will take it.
Some would say the Jags and Titans have over paid this off season while the Texans have made the most of each dollar spent.
I would like us to get a tackle, a tight end, and kick the tires on Demarco Murray to see if he has anything in the tank for a 1-2 year deal in the event Foreman can’t make it back.
Solder is an east coast guy and chose to stay. That doesn't reflect on the Texans organization.Ok.
If the Texans money is no good and the best Fa's don't want to play here, then this org has big problems.

Honeybadger signing for well below what I thought he’d get changes my mind on the best FAs not wanting to play here.
IMO the only person we missed on was Solder and it seems that had more to do with family than $ or team culture.
The others (Butler, Norwell, Lewis) it appears just got paid more than where the Texans had them valued.
My point is, when is the last time the Texans were players for too tier FA's and have they really wanted to be players in the FA market?
This year. Wooo, went way back for that one.
Too many times the "winners" in FA are picking top 10 in the following years draft and are in cap hell at the same time. IMO, the Texans have addressed their needs and made competitive bids for top FAs. How many times have we watched the tAcks and Jax spend big money in FA and still be 3rd and 4th in the division? More often than not.You have to go way back. That's the point. Mathieu may be that guy if he can stay healthy. But the reason he came cheap is because he's had issues staying healthy. Spending money on top tier FA'S is something the McNairs don't do.
To say otherwise is being disingenuous.
Not to be a stickler but the Cards offered him 8m to stay. Personally I think he went where he could get the best deal and still showcase his skill set for next FA.Matheu took the best deal he could get and the Texans got him cheap. These are the Smart type of signings I like. However there's a reason that Mathieu came cheap. Let's hope he can stay healthy.
My point is, when is the last time the Texans were players for too tier FA's and have they really wanted to be players in the FA market? History says, not so much. Meanwhile the Jags /Tacks have been players in the market and have passed the Texans up. Coincidence? Probably not

This is so true!FA is for patching holes, not for buying a new boat. That's what the draft is for.
The bulk of your money should be going to re-signing homegrown talent. That's a proven championship method.
Big FA spenders almost always end up in cap hell and end up forced to let some of their good guys go down the road because they can't get out of bad deals.
I'm just saying in general. For instance do you think they will spend the money to get Suh? Not a chance that's going to happen. But the Tacks are rumored to be having him in for a visit.
Tell me when is the last time the Texans signed a top tier FA? JoJo 10 years ago.
Through the draft, for the most part. Look at NE. They are very rarely big players in FA, yet they are always SB contenders. Same with the Eagles and Steelers. Good teams draft well and retain those players. The Texans lost out on Bouye last year and you're still butt hurt about it. We get it.Well then, look at the final 4 teams in the playoffs last year and tell me how they were built vs how the Texans were built.

Personally, I'm happy that the Texans appear to being selective in which player(s) they're willing to throw big money at. They made a good run at Solder but he chose to stay on the East coast. His choice. Not sure any guard is worth what Norwell is getting paid and I haven't heard if the Texans were ever in serious contention.
Brock Osweiler. You're wrong.
And how many of those guys were big splash signings? BB is absolutely brilliant at getting the most out of players. Hogan, Amendola, Welker, etc. were not highly sought after FAs. Yes, they do occasionally make a splash signing but, by and large, it's a lot of under the radar guys that only become "really good" after spending time in NE.Wrong, Cooks trade
Amendola fa
Gilmore fa
Chung fa
Lewis fa
Gillislee fa
Burkhead
Hogan
Harrison
Do I need to go on and on?
Look at Philadelphia /Jags/Minny and how they were built and get back too me.
The Browns are an enigma to me. I do think they will be a much improved team now that they have a new general manager. The Jags and tAcks made the playoffs for the 1st time in years and they did that more through the draft than FA, especially the Jags. Look at how many times Jax has picked in the top 5 and how many defensive players they've drafted. Bouye certainly didn't take that team over the top. All those top defensive picks did.Where or How do the Browns fit within your parameters?
Jags and Titans made the playoffs.
