Hey fellow Bullpen members, here is a letter we just recieved from Holly Schweitzer from the Texans on next season's future plan for the Bullpen.

Dear Bull Pen Members,

We want to thank you for your enthusiasm and support for the Texans. You add to the overall excitement and atmosphere on game days, providing the team with an exciting Home Field Advantage. Going forward we would like to make the Bull Pen even louder and more spirited and we will need your help to accomplish this. We will be asking for your feedback regarding your vision for the Bull Pen. During the off season we are working on creating a new logo, developing Bull Pen merchandise, launching a Bull Pen webpage and much more.

We encourage fans in the Bull Pen to have a great time and show true Texans spirit and pride, but to also be respectful and mindful of others. During the inception of the Bull Pen we have encouraged you to stand throughout the entire game, sing, and cheer and otherwise support the team in an enthusiastic manner and therefore this section may not be a good fit for children or families. If you prefer to sit or watch the game in another section please contact our Ticket Office at 866.GOTEXANS (866.468.3926) and a Customer Services Representative will be more than happy to assist you in attempting to relocate your seats. If you decide to sell or give away your tickets we encourage you to find a Texans fan. If you sell your seats for most home games we would like to relocate you to a general seating section. We would love to look at the Bull Pen and see the Home Field Advantage. If we notice disruptive behavior within the Bull Pen we will give a warning and then you could possibly lose your season tickets.

We are very excited about this year and our vision for the Bull Pen. We will be corresponding with you frequently and continue to update you on all the Bull Pen news. If you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to contact me at 832-667-2039 or hschweitzer@houstontexans.com. We look forward to working with you and making 2008 exceptionally great!

Please leave comments guys on what you feel will make the Bullpen even better. I'm going to email her a link to this section so that she can see all of our responses.

My #1 complaint- Corporate seating/ticket brokers-selling opposing seats to visiting team fans and the corporate people only coming down for a quarter and then vacating their seats. I can name a few seat locations where I see different people every game, or no people at all.

This should be copied and taped to every seat owned by Ticketmaster and/or other corporate seats...

Thats funny Bill. That was the first suggestion I thought of when I read the letter, and will definitely be the first suggestion I send to the events coordinator. Until they do something about the AMOUNT of corp and ticketmaster seats, nothing will change. Nothing would thrill me more than to be surrounded by hardcore TEXAN fans. BUT, this has been going on for almost 7 years now, so, I guess we will see if the TEXANS are truly serious about helping us give the Bullpen the home field advantage. IMHO, it's up to THEM!!

I'd like to hang out in the Bull Pen, if even just for a game. But those brokers want too much dern money. I'm a working man and have a tough enough time paying face value of my goat herder seats!

Good luck, y'all! It is good to see the Texans being pro-active about it. Hopefully it'll translate to the regular season.

Nothing wrong with those 'goat herder' seats...I've had mine since the beginning and love sitting in the nose bleeds...

I never said anything was wrong with them. Goat herders unite! :cowboy1:

I just wouldn't mind hanging out with our Bull Pen friends sometime.

Glad to see the Texans wanting to improve the BullPen. I am a new PSL holder in 115, so I am almost in the Bull Pen, hey maybe that should be my sig? I am going to have to crow surf my way over this year.

Move the BPPB back to the Bull Pen, only not hidden in the back. Or maybe in a neighboring section closer to the rail where we can still be seen and they can get some microphones for our 2 songs per game. I was told by Scott MacKerron that this is the main reason we were moved.

The sideline seats have their perks, but I miss being up there in the thick of all the fun.

BTW, I do NOT speak for the whole BPPB, just little ole' me. I probably shouldn't complain, because I'd never be able to go to games at all if it weren't for the BPPB.

You mean no one is willing to hook you up to sit in the Bull Pen?

Now that seems a little sad...

I fully believe that this issue needs to be addressed with signage and better education for the staff working in that area:

To me it looks like they MAY have gotten the message. To me if you are going to promote a section to be the place for the rowdy fans you have to let them be a little more "enthusiatic" If my getting thrown out of the Bull Pen, and all the stir it caused with my friends, means they are actually going to put a greater emphasis on the Bull Pen being a special place like the Dawg Pound or the Black Hole I am glad it happened. I know alot of Y'all had my back. Thanks for that.

Seems to me the fans just won this little battle.:splits: Good for us! And good for the Texans for listening. Now it is up to them to implement the ideas and the fans will have won the war.

Congratulations, Bull Pen - so far, so good. A little late in coming, but we just might have a real, bonafide Bull Pen this year!

It is really nice to know that the fans can make a difference when we get together and bombard the Texans with emails/phone calls. I just love happy endings. So, Texan Office - you go and make this a veritable Disney movie.:texflag:

It's a done deal DB. After the sch comes out, we'll work on a game that will bring your happy goat herder butt right on down to the front of the bullpen. I love sharing my seats with diehard Texan fans! Stay tuned!!:)

It would be an honor, my friend! :cowboy1:

I take the stairs down too, thanks to BPA :)

I walked those steps way too many times in the year and a half prior to the stadium opening up. I like the ramps. I lean forward, put one foot in front of the other, and then momentum and gravity do all the work...

That is a great plan. I pondered that sometime last year but I didn't have enough for his group. Check with me and I may be able to kick in two more for the TDC. It would be good to have them visit us down there.

Actually, I wonder if the Bull Pen can handle that many "hardheaded" fans in one area at a time.

Man, y'all rock! Let us know what to do and who to pay, because that'll be a blast. I'm sure we'll be tailgating with the Blue Crew that game, too! :thumbup

Now DB...a visit to the Blue Crew I could understand...but are you going to abandon your Yellow Lotters for an entire tailgate? I've heard that is considered a crime in many states... :)

Sweet! We plan to leave our voices in the stadium, as always. :redtowel: :texflag:

We'll be good Yellow Lot ambassadors. :shades:

And besides, we have to enjoy the Blue Crew at their present location while we can, since they might end up with us if the parking prices keep increasing!

Your brothers on grass,

The TDC :fans:

Careful being on grass..... :shades:

The other part about moving out of Plat. Lot may be true. A very, very sore subject for a lot of us...

Ehhh, I don't think I can get up any earlier than I already do. I'll pay the extra $100 or $50 (how much ever more we pay).

Nor do I have a desire to have to fight for tailgating room....

I agree...If there is anyone from our corner that is thinking of leaving...

Get with us first to see if we can help keep things in our corner....

Ditto what these guys are talking about.

We need to keep the Blue Crew, Blue Crew. I know some people that will take a spot if someone gives one up.

I hope I didn't step on anyone's toes with my casual remarks. I'd hate to see the Blue Crew move, as well. But, I can't help but wonder if the Texans FO wants to cater to the corporate crowd and push the DIY (do it yourself) folks out to the perimeters. As mentioned before, it seems like the FO wants the platinum lot to be for the 11:45 arrivals, so they've got their assigned parking and all that jazz.

But hey, they listened to the fans about Bull Pen policy, as many of us put our letters of protest with you. So maybe we can do the same for the Blue Crew if they try to price you out of your historical spot. Some things just ain't right, and keeping football accessible to the little people should be something they never lose sight of in the end. Blue collar football fans has always been what this city is about. Us goat herders/yellow lot folks have your backs, too. I know you'd do the same for us if the show was on the other foot (unless it was hobie's shoe, since his high heels are custom made for his teeny-tiny feet).

Obviously, things won't be changing anytime soon, so let's just have fun one season at a time. :) :texflag:

I think it is supply and demand. I think there are people who want platinum but couldn't get in. If they raise the price, then it may free it up for those willing to pay the price and make more money.

But that would be bad for the character of that lot. I do think that people should politely email fanfeedback about the price increase at platinum. Those of us who enjoy it won't enjoy it so much if the fun people leave because it is way more than the other lots.

That's probably the nail on the head. It's probably just hard for people to believe, as the vast majority of Platinum parkers don't arrive until 10:30 or later. While we see a mostly empty lot for most of the morning, I think it's that ability to roll in just before kickoff that makes the lot worth the extra money to people.

I think what TC and Yank said is very true, but, I don't understand why they can't move their elite parkers over to red, or Teal, and shuttle them over if they are to lazy to walk, and want to get there 10 min before the friggin game starts! There are other options than running a diehard fanbase out of the space they have been in since the beginning. It really ticks me off!!

DB! You are absolutely correct. You have our backs, and we will have yours!! There is power in numbers and I do believe the FO will listen, IF we all stand together, and give them legit, workable alternatives. Besides, there are areas in blue and orange that are much more desirable than the far corners of platinum. Designated parking can be set up anywhere they choose, they don't have to price us out of our corner. JMO!!

Well GMA, think their choices were to put Platinum in Red or Blue to be next to the stadium, and well..... The rest is history...
