Texans are not ready for prime time.

Not being funny, but do you really think we'll beat the Colts? Either home or away?

I do. The colts have had the advantage of having a last place schedule. **** they've been outscored by 37 points. We aren't losing to them once, and definitely not twice.

Well just earlier you were what-IFing away our wins so I am surprised.

I didn't say we deserved to win or anything, just that not even luck was on their side today. Those two plays (The TERRIBLE P.I Call and the Kareem Jackson fumble) made it 21-0 and that is pretty big.

I'm not going to fret too much about it though. 11-2, most of us would have taken this before the season.

Totally agree with you there, but in a moment like this it's understandable if we tend to ignore the bigger picture.

Hopefully we'll all begin worrying about Sunday instead of tonight's game soon. :glasshalffull:

There's no question we got our asses kicked. I think his point is still valid. We let the game slip away and then panicked. There's no question though that we have to play better. The refs are always gonna rob us a few times a game. Nonetheless, you gotta make plays. We didn't execute, but those little things early on set the tone for the game and we pretty much mailed it in at half time.

Listen, if we are so fragile that a few bad plays early on in games is going to lead to an embarrassing blow out then we got what we deserved.

The texans took a safety on the first play if the broncos game. Teams have come out and had us reeling quite a few times this year actually.

1) that's a trend...a bad one

2) we do it to ourselves and we cant afford to do that against good teams

It'd be one thing if we lost a competitive game. But this is the second ass kicking by a top team with a top qb.

From every angle the texans look like pretenders.

And I don't buy into the what Ifs. Don't do it for wins and won't do it for losses.

Really? Because a loss in a competitive game still puts them in the same position they're in right now.

If they take care of business and there's a rematch, they'll meet under much different circumstances(hopefully).

And again, I don't think they were pointing those out as "what-ifs" to justify that they could've won the game. I saw it more as trying to identify what went wrong.

But I certainly agree with the two points you listed.

I never what if'd a win.

What I said is that in those wins there were signs of deficiencies we had.

And besides that, weve had some narrow margins of victory.

You can't what if away this kind of ass kicking.

There is no bright side. No saving grace.

Pathetic showing tonight from the top down. Period.

Not sure what game you are talking about?

They almost beat the Ravens. You make it sound like they were blown out and embarrassed when it was anything but. A few mistakes by a rookie 3rd string QB cost the Texans a trip to the AFCC game.

Actually I'm almost positive that you knew the EXACT game that I was talking about, because you just referenced it without me even saying what game it was.

I also didn't say anything about that Ravens loss being embarrased and didn't say anything about being blown out

I in your words "made it sound" like they bit it.. and the did in that game. We gave that game away through some of the same self inflicted wounds we saw today.. your point is?

There is little bright side to this loss, we'd all agree on that.

There are chinks in the armor. Lack of pass rush, run game looks bad at times, secondary hobbled...but every single team has chinks in their armor.

They still have two losses and still in position to have a memorable season.

My point is that game (The Ravens playoff game) was and is NOTHING like today's game.

One game they showed heart, fight, and came out to compete. Mistakes by Jacoby and a rookie 3rd string QB cost them the game.

Tonight was NOTHING like that game. To even reference that game and this one is to kinda imply that they wet the bed all the same. They did not, they just lost to the better more experienced team last year...tonight they were embarrassed and kicked off the field.

No a loss in a competitive game means we are closer to being competitive with top teams.

If you get into a fight and you get your teeth knocked into your ass that's a loss right?

If you get into a fight and it's competitive, but you still probably lost because...well the guy landed a few more shots and you're a little bit more bloody than he is...

Which person are you going to be more confident against next time?

The guy who you had a good tussle with or the guy you couldn't touch once and he knocked your face inside out?

I'm not a player on that team. All I can do is voice my displeasure and observe what I see. And what I saw was a team that was outclassed for the second time this year against an upper echelon franchise.

Can they come back and beat then in the play offs? Sure. That's why I'll be watching...because anything can happen...

But am I confident that they'll take it to the pats if they meet again...fvk no...

If you guys are...good. I'm not. I've seen them play all year and ive seen schaub and kubiak since they've been here. I think I know how this one ends, but I'll hope for the best.

Yeah I get your point. But I get the feeling a loss in any form would call into question this team and coaching staff's competence against the cream of the crop by most on the board.

And yes, I've been watching this team since it's inception as well. I guess I just have more blind faith and am more of a masochist than you are. :choke:

It's all good...

I did post before the game that how we played was going to be very important though and not really a win or a loss...

I won't say we won't or can't win the superbowl, but if I had to put money on it id bet no...because unlike the texans tonight, I like to win....

Zing. :)

Yes you are,:cutthroat: but I appreciate your positivity.
Seriously, I see nothing positive out of this loss and the one against Green Bay. Both showed the Texans are lacking when facing an elite team.
A competitive loss, where your team's somewhat in the game, I can live with.
But a flat out embarrassing azz whoopin, where your team looks like the B string junior high team, eats me alive.

Very well said!

Just let all the band wagon fans jump and hang themselves.

True colors are starting to show.

Now proceed to Academy and get a refund for your Watt jersey.

Mistakes cost them a chance to win against the Ravens.. self inflicted wounds cost them a chance to win against the Ravens. The score doesn't even matter and the only reason why you say they "played with heart" is because the Ravens aren't that great and can't capitalize on mistakes like the Pats can. The reoccuring theme here is when this team has to step up in competition.. they bite the bit.

I'm sorry, but give me a ____ing break. Are you trying to say that I'm a bandwagon fan? I've been here since the inception and there ARE NO BANDWAGON FANS ON THIS BOARD! Bandwagon fans may buy a ballcap or a jersey.. however they aren't so emotionally invested where they register on a message board and post for a decade.

Speaking of bandwagon fans (if there is one here and if you want to fire that gun), that's weak coming from someone who joined this board during a season that was a franchise best. You're sitting in the back of this "bandwagon".. I've been riding shotgun since day one.

It's funny seeing the only people throwing the "bandwagon fan" label around are ones who have been posting here no more than a year.

They didn't come out and fight that game? Well we just have to agree to disagree then, respect your opinion though.

I just give the Ravens some credit. Who got that INT? It was Ed Reed,he has been doing that all his life. The Jacoby mistake was just Jacoby, it really had nothing to do with the team. Why do we seem to forget that this team beat the Broncos, the Bears who were a elite team when we played them, and smacked the Ravens around when they were healthy?

The Broncos were not this Broncos team when we played them.. atleast not the team we faced in the first 3 quarters. The team we saw in the 4th.. they've been that team the last 7-8 weeks. The Bears lost their QB against us and might miss the playoffs.. as well as the Ravens. And Jacoby on another team under another coach is the best kick returner in the league with Holliday right behind him.

The Broncos and Peyton actually played just fine before we saw them. We made them look worse than they were, and in the 4th they started to attack a zone and less aggressive defense. Still won the game though. Whether they will be better if we see them again is another question.

The bears lost one game then and everyone was talking about how their defense was just legendary. I remember that week well, all I could hear about was how amazing their defense was and how their defense could score more than some teams offenses. Cutler was taken out by our guys, hey and we've had some injuries too if we are going to start counting his injury as to whether our wins are quality or not.

Jacoby just dropped a punt. While I agree our special teams have not been great this season, the coaches have nothing to do when a player just drops a punt like that.

I have to agree with Car Bombed here. When the Texans faced the Broncos (3rd week) Peyton was not yet back to his old self. He is now so we will see if the Texans face him in the playoffs.

I'll give you Chicago although I don't think they are a top tier team.

When the Texans played the Ravens they had lost Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb. Pretty big losses.

And the rest of their wins:

Titans twice-they suck
Jaguars twice-they suck
Dolphins-they suck
Jets-they suck
Bills-they suck
Lions-they suck but do have Megatron

And of course they were blown out by a good team with a great qb Green Bay

The trend for the Texans seems to be as so many have mentioned is they struggle against teams with really good qbs.

I don't know what to think...

I've always teetered on schaub as a top qb and maybe we can win in spite of kubiak...

But I'm doubting both those ideas right now.

But I do think if kubiak had a better qb he could do more with his offense.

Yeah, it would definitely take John Elway to make that gameplan happen.

I don't quite know what kind of gameplan they had last night. Something like run Foster right at Wilfork. Limit the throws to OD and Casey and only target Andre more than 4 yards down the field.....

....speaking of 4 yards down the field, it's 3rd and 8 lol. Definitely need Manziel to hurry up and graduate. If Bob wants a bigtime QB, that's about the closest shot the Texans are going to have.

I don't give a **** WHAT Peyton Manning was or wasn't "back to" in our Week 3 matchup. We were dominating that game and they grabbed a touchdown or two later in the game to make it seem closer than it was.

I don't give a **** about anybody OR their injuries anymore. Not after last year.

I understand the angst over losing in primetime to the Pats, especially with the playoffs in the horizon.

I am here to provide neutral perspective.

1) 11-2. That alone is worthy
2) Wins over Denver, Baltimore, Chicago and a gutsy win on MNF against the Jets after losing Cushing. I don't care how those wins came about. I see "Denver hadn't gelled yet." Baltimore isn't what they seem. Maybe its because your team had something to do with it.
3) If there is a rematch, it will, in all likelihood, be in your house. I for one hope you get it.

Every team usually has one forgettable game that either is the hiccup or bump in the road. You just had yours, and its better to have it now then in January when there is no do-overs.

I do. The colts have had the advantage of having a last place schedule. **** they've been outscored by 37 points. We aren't losing to them once, and definitely not twice.

I'm not gonna count any chickens yet. Sure, they've had some breaks but having lucked into Luck they've got 4 or 5 come from behind wins.

That and the fact that we've yet to win one in their house. I sure hope that changes this year. It HAS to if we're going to get to where we all want to be.
