6 games vs 2014 playoff teams. Get New England at NRG. Get the NFC South. What's not to like?

I know it's too early to tell but that schedule now looks even easier than this years schedule they just finished!

I really don't like getting my hopes up, what with this franchise's history. But I'm feeling good about that schedule--10+ wins good.

Not one road team on that schedule scares me. Honestly no reason to not go at least 6-2 on the road. Of course, you know, schedules on paper don't take into account our perpetual lack of luck.

Carolina had a down year but their defense is no joke. Who knows what you'll get with Cam though.

Hoping our ground game can just punish Atlanta. But Matty Ice could tear up our secondary if it ends up being that kinda game.

Buffalo plays tough. I don't think they were ever really blown out this year.

I thought we played Indy, Jaxs and Tits last year and this year. What's up with that? Don't we play then every year?

Who makes these frigging schedules?

Home:
Indy - win
Tennessee - win
Jax - win
New England - loss
Ny Jets - win
Tampa Bay - win
New Orleans - win
Kansas City - ?

Away:
Indy - loss
Tennessee - win
Jax - win
Carolina - ?
Atlanta - loss
Buffalo - win
Miami - win
Cincinnati - loss

Looks like 10-6 or 11-5 to me if we stay healthy, and Mallett can come in and perform.

And if Mallett turns into one of those quarterbacks that can win games for the team rather than just not lose them, those question marks have a better chance of being wins.

I can realistically see 10-11 wins and possibly winning the AFC South. Indy's schedule isn't quite as friendly in that they have to face Denver (home) and Pittsburg (road). That Denver game will be interesting seeing as Peyton will almost certainly be back, and we all know he's the regular season champion of all time.

Luck, Brady, Brees, and Ryan are the only "prolific" passers the Texans face next year. Newton is the only dual threat on the schedule.

Schedule is set up for the Defense to get a lot better. The last few games this year it was awesome, it can only get better next year imo.

I'm liking 11-5.

I wold almost bet the Patriots game will be Prime Time. Teacher vs Student: Brady vs Mallett, BOB vs Bellicheck.

He wont say it openly but you know O Brien will be fired up

I see a couple road trips in my future... FINALLY!!!

- Jax for sure
- Miami
- Atlanta, possibly.
- Carolina, depending on schedule

Excited to finally be back in the US.

Texans 2015 opponents breakdown
Code:
NRG STADIUM OPPONENTS
Division Team	2014 Record	2014 Road Record
AFC South
                *Colts 11-5 5-3
                Jaguars 3-13 0-8
                Titans 2-14 1-7
AFC East
                *Patriots 12-4 5-3
                Jets 4-12 2-6
AFC West
                Chiefs 9-7 3-5
NFC South
                Saints 7-9 4-4
                Buccaneers 2-14 2-6

TOTAL 50-78 22-42
In 2014, the teams coming to NRG Stadium struggled. They struggled overall, finishing with a combined 50-78 record. Just a pair of those squads were playoff teams, in this weekend's AFC Title finalists Indianapolis and New England. The Chiefs finished 9-7, the Saints were 7-9, and none of the other five were able to muster more than four wins the entire year.

Further, the Patriots, Colts and Saints were the only teams coming to NRG Stadium that were .500 or better on the road in 2014.

                Jaguars 3-13 3-5
                Titans 2-14 1-7

                Bills 9-7 5-3
                Dolphins 8-8 4-4
AFC North
                *Bengals 10-5-1 5-2-1
NFC South
                *Panthers 7-8-1 4-4
                Falcons 6-10 3-5

TOTAL 56-69-1 31-32-1
On the road in 2015, the Texans get just three playoff teams: the Colts, Bengals and Panthers. Carolina won the NFC South despite a 7-8-1 record. Unlike the home slate, the road slate is a bit tougher. Five of the eight opponents were .500 or better in 2014. The combined home record of the eight the Texans face was 31-32-1.

5 of the 7 worst rated teams in offensive efficiency (Aikman Ratings) (Jac, TB, NYJ, Buf, Ten) and the 5 worst rated teams in defensive efficiency (NO, Ten, TB, NYJ, Atl) (Texans were #1).

Of course, none of that means anything in 2015.

On paper this seems easier than this past season. If the NFC South is as weak as it was last season, then it's almost a guaranteed 3 wins. I'm saying this because I think we can take 3 out of 4 in that sorry ass division, with the Aints being the only loss.

They're going to look better by virtue of not playing both the AFC North & the NFC West.

If I know the FO, they're not going to get a top QB. Mallett will turn out to be a 1-game flash, but it will be discovered too late. Record 10-6, wildcard spot.

Why do you even bother if you're so sure we're so bad and won't be able to change? I think we're on the brink of greatness and you think we're always on the brink of disaster. To each his own I guess.

We've got to find a way to win the division next season. Then kick the Colts out of the play offs, if they make it was a Wild Card.

We've got to stop this "roll" that Andrew Luck is on. Nip it in the bud. We need to make him the next Phillip Rivers. Great QB... just not great enough.

I see a "doable" 11-5...if we can find a top-14 QB, Arian stays healthy for 1/2 season and our DBs aren't all on crutches by week 12..

49ers at 4th I think struggle.

Browns at 9th, ouch.

Patriots at 22, Eagles at 23... nice.

Remember when the NFC West made for an "easy" schedule? It's never as easy as it looks.

True, but these days you never truly know if you can project the future based on past performance (unless a team has a HoF QB, of course).

I think the Cardinals will definitely continue their upward trend, but they do need a QB. Arians is a great HC and I think they will become the dominant team in the NFC West within a couple of years.

The 49ers will probably have a huge drop off with a new coaching staff and it remains to be seen if Kap can be consistent enough to carry his team. I have my doubts based on his current trends.

And the Seahawks have some challenges, both from rebounding from that SB loss and potentially having some major roster decisions if Lynch retires and they have to give Wilson a big contract. Without Lynch, that offense is going to struggle, even with a solid QB. His dynamic is dependent on a consistent running threat.

And the Rams....not too worried about the Rams. They need an offense.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but it is too bad we didn't already have a 2015 season prediction thread out there. This is as close as I could find.

Which games turn from losses to wins because the Texans have moved on from Andre and freed up all of that salary space? Such a strong move in the Patriot's style must have immediate, tangible results - probably a couple more wins in 2015 and at least three in 2016, right? No more right track blather!

If we're going to change this into an Andre Johnson thread, all I'm going to say this team is better with Andre than without.... as it stands now. We'll have to see what they do with that $8.8M savings.

Not that it really matters, but...

At least we'll see Gary. lol.

Texans Pre-Season.

Week 2: DEN
Week 3: @ NO (Primetime)
Week 4: @ Dallas

Preseason schedule released:

Week 1 San Francisco
Week 2 Denver
Week 3 @ New Orleans
Week 4 @ Dallas
Kubiak Klash and the Cowgirls back on on the preseason schedule. It's possible to attend all of the preseason games. I like it.

Well, isn't that last game usually a Thursday...hoping to be there.

Man I hate that last game. It's usually on a Thursday, so I have to take off work to get there & I know I won't see the guys I really want to see & I had to pay full price for the ticket...

So what? Can't remember which team but one of them halved preseason tickets this year...and guess what, they did exactly what I said they would and bumped the regular season tickets so it was all a wash.

Yeah, I couldn't care less what the face value says. I'm counting ten games... & for all I care, they all cost the same.

If I had my way, they'd get rid of the last two preseason games & go to an 18 game regular season.
