Tedy Bruschi

How do you break a blood vessel? I've heard of them rupturing but not breaking. Anyway I hope he makes a full recovery.

They keep using the word "break", but I don't know .. isn't break or rupture pretty much the same thing?? .. no MD here.

They should know more tomorrow about his condition. Hope he will recover. Hope it's not career ending like some reporters have been hinting at.

BOSTON (AP) -- New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi has a broken blood vessel in his head and might have had a minor stroke, according to newspaper reports.

Bruschi was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday with unexplained headaches.
He's having blurred vision, numbness on the right side of his body," his wife, Heidi Bruschi, was heard telling a dispatcher on a tape of the 911 call.

The possibility that he had suffered a stroke was reported in Thursday editions of The Boston Herald, which cited unidentified sources. The story also said Bruschi suffered lost vision.

The Boston Globe, citing an unidentified team source, reported on its Web site Thursday that Bruschi had a broken blood vessel in his head and suffered from partial paralysis that has since gone away. A broken blood vessel can cause a stroke if it deprives the brain of oxygen.

I hate to say this, but a lady I work with had a daughter who had a vessel break in her head. She died from it. She was only 22. She was born with a weakness and there is no way of knowing, I have been told.
I think football may be over for him.
May GOD watch over him.

Yea Sassy I guess when you think about it break and rupture would be the same thing. I've just only it termed a "rupture". You learn something new every day.

I hope he recovers. They said on MSN he suffered a mild stroke. For some reason you don't think of that ever happening to a young athletic person.

I'm not one to believe everything the media puts out. This report needs a little more "tweeking" before I believe it. I guess spending 38 yrs of my life in the medical field makes me a little skeptical of this report.

I've read several places online (MSN, etc) where he suffered a "mild" stroke.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. I keep forgetting to watch ESPN to see what they are saying.
