Tear down the astrodome

Should we destory the Astrodome

and turn it into like a Sports bar and grill / Fun zone / a place were we like keep Texans Hall of fame and history stuff
 
I think it'd be cool if they convert it into a multi-use complex. A Sports Hall of Fame thing like you mentioned plus shops, restaurants/sports bars, and apartments too (rent or own or some for hotel type use). That'd be cool but probably wouldn't be cost-productive.
 
I was for the idea of turning it into a hotel/casino. I think that would have been awesome and add some much needed business/tourism to our city. I'm tired of everyone going to Louisiana and throwing there money away. I'd much rather see them go broke here. :shades:

How about making it a lake, completely stocked with bass, perch, catfish, crape, etc? That'd be freakin awesome!
 
Seriously what ever we did with it, it should be something that makes Houston stand out, and makes the texans home a one of a kind football experience! Since we are the number one tailgate in the NFL maybe it should be tailgate related like a Huge Tailgate party for all who dont have there own tailgate partys Like a mardi gras or state fair every sunday!

I so agree with this and I was thinking about that forever. One could walk back into the dome and remember all of the good or bad times in there.

i dont care what we do with it, just dont tear it down. watching astroworld go, and seeing landmark stadiums get demolished around the nation just hurts. it's going to take more money than anyone wants to spend to accomplish anything with the dome, but it's just plain wrong to me to parking lot what was once a modern wonder of the world in our home town.

Also be careful if that happens we may lose games to places London, and Alpha Centuri. Can you imagine the the jet lag effect on players traveling light years, but I digress........
 
Blow the thing up.

And DO NOT sell the seats to the fans like some stadiums do before the end. Every bit of bad energy needs to be exorcised from the area. If they sell the seats then there will be pieces of that damn place all over the country.

While I have great memories of going to the Dome the damn thing is a Church dedicated to the worshipping of bad karma. For some reason I feel like a dark cloud will be lifted from the city once it is finally gone.

I take back the seat thing though. One can be saved and it should be taken and buried under the 50 yard line up titan land.
