Jeff Fischer has history in Houston. He coached our Oilers when they left. He coached the Titans, a team in our division.

His coaching ability has been questioned (& defended) here many times. Now that he is outside our division, do we care anymore? I think it would be nice, to put our opinions on the line right now.

Let's look at what he's got in St Louis as far as talent goes & what we know of their FO to predict how he'll do over the next few years.

Are the Rams contenders next season? How long will it take Fischer to "turn it around" in St. Louis?

The Rams finished 2-14 in 2011 (& the second pick in the NFL draft).
-2010: 7-9 (a disappointing season)
-2009: 1-15
-2008: 2-14
-2007: 3-13
-2006: 8-8
-2005: 6-10
-2004: 8-8
-2003: 12-4

So it's been 8 years since that team has known success.

Talent wise, they've got Steven Jackson, Sam Bradford, Chris Long, & James Laurinaitis...... am I missing anything?

My opinion, he's going to need 4+ years to turn that franchise around.

what do you think?

So this is Fisher's 3rd season in St. Louis. How do you think he's doing?

Interesting "stat" I heard the other day: Three of St. Louis' wins are against the Seahawks, 49ers, & Denver Broncos. Surely that's got to say something.

all I know is the RAMS wipped our ass last time we played and they did it on the road

Steven Jackson is in Atlanta and Bradford has started 7 games in 2 years. They have a young, but talented defense (especially up front) and they have a pretty talented O-Line with a bunch of young skill players. They don't have a QB though. Bradford was showing progression last year but he can't stay healthy.

The fact that they're 4-6 with no QB speaks to the team's overall talent level. The Saints have Brees and the Falcons have Ryan and both teams are 4-6. Imagine the Rams record if they had either of those guys.

Jeff Fisher is always lauded as being able to make salad out of ****, but it doesn't really matter because his teams always finish mediocre and the offense is always hard to watch.

His defenses seem pretty legit no matter where he goes.

Living near St. Louis for the past couple months, I got a chance to check out a rams game. St. Louis is a QB away from becoming a team like Seattle. Jeff Fisher has started to open up the offense more it seemed from what I remember him as.
