T.J. Slaughter

keyfro

Veteran
with the ravens signing tommy polley today do you think after the draft we will be interested in signing t.j. slaughter who will likely not be re-signed by the ravens...he could provide quality ILB depth for us

actually we only signed one we re-signed a couple...most of the guys we re-signed didn't make the team but were on the practice squad or are guys from the other football leagues that are coming here to try and make it as OLB for us...the only ILB we signed is chamberlin who has never played in the 3-4 defense...i honestly doubt he makes the team when he has to go up against monk, polk, dunn, evans, and bell as competition...not to mention we will probably draft an ILB somewhere in the middle rounds

Greenwood came over to fill the inside line backer position. He played weak side in a 4-3 while starting for Miami. I dont know if that qualifies as an inside backer but he did not play on the line with his hand down.

Greenwood came to fill ONE of the inside linebacker positions. Who plays the other? At the moment, indicators point to Wong, which is a bit scary because 1) he wants to play OLB and 2) we're in trouble if Peek doesn't work out.

Houston Texans: The Texans re-signed reserve linebackers Troy Evans and Shantee Orr.

Evans, a four-year veteran, has mostly played in special teams in his three seasons with the Texans. He finished with 16 special teams tackles in 2004, second on the team behind Antwan Peek.

Orr has played 10 games, four last season, for the Texans since Houston claimed him off waivers from Green Bay in July 2003. He spent much of 2004 on the practice squad before being elevated to the active roster for the final month.

This might have already been posted, but I haven't seen it yet.

Correct me if I am wrong. But you know they plan on using Greenwood as a starter inside linebacker otherwise why pay him that kind of money. The question is who will start as the other inside linebacker position and who will provide us the depth.

It also looks like we just resigned two more LB Evans and Orr. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8380038
