As an aside, did anyone notice that Alltarp was not empty?:shocked

Ha ha.

I sent my other half to a Super Bowl party without me. I just don't enjoy the Super Bowl or MNF. That, and I just couldn't take watching the Patriots squeak by yet gain. They are the Ohio State (a few years ago) of the NFL for me. I'm watching the game on and off - I just didn't want to make a 5-hour commitment to it.

At least the Eagles stopped that drive. That early turnover was why I didn't want to watch.

He looks strong. I know he didn't come to the Eagles just to sit on the sidelines for the Super Bowl. I'm glad he's playing.

There were 2 illegal contacts by the Pats on LJ Smith's TD. None were called. Freakin pats get away with so much. But 7-0 EAGLES!!!!

Yeah, and when T.O. caught that long pass the refs missed a huge illegal pick bt Mitchell.

Let them play!!

What an awesome half time show compared to last years fiasco.

Potential controversy though. I believe the song Hey Jude is about Heroin, with Jude being Heroin.

...why is it we got stuck with that trash for halftime last season? This is so much better.
Because the NFL let MTV put on that joke of a halftime show. Don't think that's going to happen again

Chicken wings never happened. There was a 2 hour waiting period to get them. Which may of been a good thing cause the 50 chicken nuggets from McDonalds are still doing a number on my stomach...

I changed your first word...I find it offensive...

Maybe for people outside of the target audience...Last year's halftime entertainment was better focused to the target audience...

I'm 20, I knew every song word for word, I guess that makes me lame

Rodney Harrison is my MVP, 2 years in a row.
I do not want to see the Pats in Detriot next year

With Charlie and Romeo gone there is a distinct possibility that they'll be sitting at home come Super Bowl time. If you want to ensure that they'll miss out on the SB next season then I suggest that you go 'Tanya Harding' on Tom Brady.

I'll tell you what, The Patriots are right now what I want the Texans to someday become. They're a complete team. In this age of parity I don't mind seeing a team earn the "dynasty" label if they deserve it. The Patriots deserve it. Their "stars" are mostly good, solid, everyday players. I'd rather have Tom Brady as my QB than Peyton Manning for example. When it's all done Manning will have his records and Brady will have his rings. While Brady might wish he'd thrown the ball more and set a few records he won't lose any sleep over it. Manning I'm sure will be willing to trade a bunch of his records to have just one ring.

Being a former Oiler follower I had my fill of seeing teams full of talent vapor lock in the playoffs and watching star studded rosters fall short. Give me a solid team that knows how to play together any day. Watching McNabb tonight I was thinking "I've seen this before". I swear he looked more like Warren Moon in a high pressure game than anyone I've seen since Warren left town. The tighter the game got the worse he threw the ball. It was uncanny.

There were the Eagles with their high priced free agents all amounting to another year of coming up short. Kearse was a big addition (so was Wilbur Marshall when the Oilers brought him in back in the day) and Owens did his part. Adding those guys wasn't necessarily a bad move and I'm not saying that it was. Adding them wasn't going to push them over the top though. Whatever that intangible thing that turns a bunch of talented players into a team that wins the big games though the Eagles don't have. They didn't have it before those guys got there and they don't have it now.

Sure they got one step further than in the previous three years but then McNabb had three years to practice winning the NFC Championship game. If the Eagles can get him to the Super Bowl another two or three times he might eventually figure out how to win a Super Bowl but I don't know if he'll have too many more chances.

I'm not a Patriots fan, I'm a 100% Texans fan but I like what I see in the Patriots. I'm glad they won this game because they've settled the question of whether or not you can build a dynasty in the modern NFL. You can. You just have to be smarter than the other guys and right now they certainly look smarter than the other guys.

I can't, thats a conflict of intrests. But I guess he would never see it comming if I was in all of my Michigan gear before I did it.
Anyway, if I miss, he'll kill me, he is much bigger in person.

Straight up the coaching played the biggest part, deon branch was the second, blitzing 3rd which goes back to coaching.....

I thought the halftime show stunk! Paul McCartney needs to stick with making records, where they can cover up his horrible voice. He sang flat, no emotion, and my 5 y/o grandson has better dance moves.

In comparison to last years, IMHO, they were about equal. BAD!!

Truthfully, I wish they would leave all the mega-stars out of it! These fruit-loops probably watch football one day a year, SB SUNDAY, and only if they can get on the show!

I thought it sounded alright, but then considering last year's "wardrobe malfunction" that continues to (unfortunately) define Houston's Super Bowl, almost anything is preferable. Honestly when I referred to it as trash in my earlier post (now deleted) I meant more the overwhelming media attention to Janet Jackson's chest not the music itself. (Though I still find Paul McCartney preferable to Janet Jackson)

To me the best thing about the game was this:

Freddy Mitchell- 1 catch, 11 yds

ilove it when guys that spend half their time tooting their own horn go out and stink the joint up.

UPS(United Patriot Service) delivered. FredEx did'nt. :loser

Owen's performance was nothing less than remarkable! Anybody who ever played football knows coming back in a month and a half after suffering
that kind of injury and play as well as he did is really something. I honestly thought the guy would go on the field, limp thru one pass route just so he could say he was in a SB, and leave the field for the rest of the game. Instead, h e was such a factor you gotta wonder why Philly didn't throw
him more passes, they might of won the game had they done that.

I have to admit, as much as T.O. is a sham, I have a newfound respect for what he did that will never go away.

"I bet none of you in this room thought I had a chance to go out there and do what I did" said T.O. to the media...and he proved it.

A late afterthought....

Kearse was being owned by Matt Light all game...

If you all remember the Vikings-Eagles MNF game, Madden would comment on how Jim Johnson would use Kearse as a Joker-a DE who would move around the line like a LB and blitz from random spots.

The thing is, I never saw Kearse being blitzed as a Joker all game long, especially when it was obvious he could not do anything vs. Light.

What was up with the under-utilization of Kearse?

The Eagles are my second favorite team. That TD drive at the end was excruciating. If you are incapable of running the "2 minute drill" then at least down the ball every time you get a first down in bounds. They wasted so much time in the huddle.

Just picked off of SI.com/ESPN.com ....

Seems Mrs. McNabb paid too much attention to Westbrook trying to sneak away some wings....

Rumors flying around that Donovan was sick towards the end of the game..... which would explain why the Eagle no-huddle was non existent....

Tainting the Patriot win, or just an excuse?
