Super Bowl Week

YodAa

Rookie
Well I was really bored and I started comparing the NBA All-star weekend to the the NFL Pro bowl and I thought "Thats the only thing the NBA beats the NFL in" So I began thinking of ways that that the NFL could beat in that area and I finally found one. A SuperBowl week! It could all be in one city but it would be more than than just the SB so not only would it be more entertaining but it would also benefit the SB city economically. Let me know what ya'll think and also add your ideas.

Sunday- Super Bowl week opening ceremony and the RookieBowl(self-explanatory).

Monday-ProBowl (John Madden could do this game which means one more week of MNF!!!)

Tuesday-The Press day thing with the SuperBowl Players also site seeing and small events

Wednesday- PickBowl- The two teams with the worst records in the conference would play to receive the first pick of the draft and an extra pick 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Thursday- The new Hall of Fame class could be named and then there could be some shows or some concerts.

Friday-Mega Bowl- This could be a game between the 2 runner up teams from each conference (sorry couldn't think of a better name)

Saturday-Site seeing and small events so that the stadium can have a day to prepare everything.

Sunday- SuperBowl. Need I say more?

Logistically, it would be a nightmare to hold all of those events in the same city.
And it would not be pleasant for superbowl participants that are in the probowl.

But I think the idea has definite merit.

This whole idea of the media spending 2 weeks to disect the Superbowl (which half the ime isa blow-out or a borefest) is going to eventually encounter a backlash in my mind.
Doing something other than the MTV all-star game in the week of the superbowl is definitely needed.

Well I tried to spaceout every game by 1 day or so instead of more days so the stadium had time to prepare but also so it wouldn't be over 2 weeks and then make the SB boring feel like its being dragged along because with 1 week alone it felt a little bit dragged.

Also the probowl players could have the option to not participate if they felt it would hurt their SB chances. And the reason the Rookie and ProBowl don't have a day inbetween was because no big changes would have to take place on the fields because both endzones would say AFC and NFC and the only thing needing to change would be the middle logo. Also for the rookie bowl there could also be some sophmores who barely began playing in their 2nd year and other players like that.

As for the PickBowl I chose to have the winner get the 1st pick so that that team actually did 1 good thing to deserve instead of just screwing up everywhere to get it.

The MegaBowl would just be played to see what conference was better, who would've won the SB had those two teams won, for fun, and maybe for a cash reward or an extra franchise tag or draft pick in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I have been to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii, and I have have been in the same city where the NBA ALL Star Game is being held (Oakland 2000), and the Pro Bowl is by far the better of the two as far as being there in person! A lot goes on around the ProBowl, they just don't have a big television deal like the SlamDunk contest and the 3 point contest!

Great idea. The only problem is that none of the rookies or pro-bowlers from the Super Bowl teams would be playing in the Rookie Bowl or Pro Bowl. They would need to concentrate on the Super Bowl and I doubt they would want to risk getting injured.
