Rd.1 Neal OT, Alabama
Rd.1 Davis DT, Georgia
Rd.2 Sam Williams DE, Mississippi
Rd.3 Dylan Parham C/OG, Memphis
Rd.3 Jalen Armour Davis CB, Alabama
Rd.4 Jeremy Ruckert TE, Ohio St.
Rd.6 Velus Jones WR, Tennessee I would trade up into the 5th to get him if need be.
Rd. 6 Master Teague RB, Ohio St.
Rd.6 Reed Blankenship S, Middle Tennessee
Rd.7 Jequez Ezzard, WR Sam Houston St.

Fixes the OL/DL, adds a much needed TE that can both block and catch. A CB that I think can start early in his career. 2 of the fastest WR's in this draft. Both are great ST's guys and last but not least a RB that started for Ohio St. 2 yrs ago. He got beat out by a Freshman Henderson, who's the 2nd best RB in the country. IMHO No shame in that.

This one I really like. Can't fault it.
Thoughtful mock steel.

your flipping, back and forth, from Neal to Walker back to Neal, is that your final answer?

have no issue with Jordan Davis the prospect, but he is a 3-4 nose, did Lovie change his defensive scheme, I must have missed it, from a 4-3?

how does Sam Williams fit in the Jack Easterby/Nick Caserio culture?

Parham would settle in and take over starting Center role

honestly have not paid a lot of attention to Jalen Armour Davis, he is ranked #299th on PFF big board

Ruckert is polished, far more than Brevin Jordan

Velus Jones is a steal this late, brings running dimension to WR group

Masters Teague, the Ohio State, power back, runs upright, north and south

Reed Blackenship looks like a Cowboy, recovered from gruesome injury

Jequez Ezzard, excellent late round special teams returner

Neal- no flipping, just don't think he will be there at #3. Still my #1 rated guy.

Georgia ran a hybrid 4-3 and Davis has the athletic ability to play in any scheme. The coaches just gotta get it out of him. You want to fix the worst run defense in the NFL? Drafting Davis goes along way to solving that issue. I think he can be taught how to rush the passer.

Williams - I'm hoping Calhoun let's Caserio draft the way the Pats did when Caserio was there. How do you think they got J. C. Jackson? Williams is one of the most talented pass rushers in this draft. You're probably right about the McNair's not letting this happen. But I hope things have truly changed down on Kirby.

Parham- played og last year and looked good playing it at the Sr. Bowl. Hopefully after next season he can take over the C spot. He surprisingly weighed in at 315 lbs at the Sr. Bowl. He's very athletic.

I've got Armour -Davis rated higher. But the 29th rated CB should be there in the 3rd Rd.

Kailon Barnes- fastest CB in the draft, He's a long CB too, has the ability to tun into a CB1. I was debating between Barnes and Armour Davis in Rd.3.

Ruckert- will be lucky if he falls to #108.

Jones- agreed, probably going to have to find away to trade up to the bottom of the 4th-top of the 5th to get him. I would do this in a heartbeat.

Teague - my pick as a developmental RB. Dude's big fast and rarely gets tackled by the 1st guy. Should be a great GL/ short yardage guy. If you like Spiller in the 2nd you should love Teague in the 6th.

Blankenship - didn't know that he got hurt, is he ok? Love the way he plays the game.

Ezzard- very talented but underrated guy Agreed.

JC was undrafted and we know db's is BB strength. I agree with you about Davis. He's quick powerful, so I don't see this as an issue.

BB was allowed to bring J.C. in. Hopefully Calhoun allows Caserio to do the same thing.

Updated. Give me Kailon Barnes @ #107.

I read up on Barnes and watched some highlights. His biggest asset, 4.29-40. Before that run, Kalon was a RD6 or RD7 DB in the draft.

I like Barnes, but like Kareem Jackson, he has to be moved to FS where he can play the game facing the offense. He could better utilize his speed facing the play b/c he’s just not capable of covering receivers with his back to the play.

Man, that would break the bank!
One good thing is you would have to hit on quite a few of them!
The QB's are just camp arms, with the hope that one of them shows enough to be our 3rd QB, or at least enough to make the practice squad. One of the RB's is bound to make it, but all three have the potential to be good. I think all 3 WR's will be future starters. Calvin Austin and Danny Gray should be our slot guys for years to come, and could also fill in as our deep threats. I think Rambo will be a solid contributor, and possibly our future #2 WR. The OT's I picked are really OG/OTs. I wasn't paying attention, and missed getting the C I wanted. With DE Karlaftis and DT Davis, I think our DL will be solid. I don't know much about the LBs in the draft, but I like what I've seen of Chenal. Safeties Pitre, Brisker, and Bell, are versatile enough to play S and nickel CB. From what I've seen of Bell and Brisker, they look to be pretty good in the run game. They seem to diagnose runs well, and have no hesitation attacking the RB, and are sound tacklers. I don't know anything about the Michigan Safety. He was just there, and there wasn't anyone else at that spot I was interested in. The TE's are both projects. Overall, I think I picked several keepers, and a few possibles.

Another interesting mock here. I much prefer Neal to your current (?) infatuation with Walker, even if I'm not over-the-moon with Neal. That said, Neal does offer franchise OT potential, so he's worth a shot... just not my preference.

Big fan of Davis. He's the guy who makes that Georgia D work, I think. He has his limitations, but the value he brings for the downs he will be on the field is too great for me to overlook.

Williams is a heck of a pass rusher, but that's about it. Its a pretty good trick to have, but I don't know if I want to spend two of my 3 early picks on specialists (and I'd rather have Davis than Williams.

Parham seems to be a solid fit here. I'm guessing you think Salyer will be gone?

JAD is a solid developmental CB. He's got a pretty high ceiling, but I'm questioning how long it will take until (or if) he gets there.

Big fan of Ruckert. Good size, good blocker, good hands. He's not Gronk or anything, but I think he's a TE that gives you 10 solid years.

Jones is a player I have a hard time with. I think he's worth a shot this late, since he has the traits to make it as a ST guy.

Teague... man did he test well or what?! The good is that he showed he has athleticism, he's big, he's a willing blocker, and he doesn't have much wear on the tires. But I worry about his on-the-field play- why was there so little wear on the tires? I'm definitely good with taking a flyer on him this late, but I'd hope that the FO does their due diligence there.

Blankenship- I don't know anything about him, but I like going safety at some point this draft.

Ezzard- Meh, I don't know much about him. Seems like the pick could be used elsewhere (seems redundant with Jones).

All in all, I wouldn't be unhappy if this was the haul. It covers a lot of the positions I think the Texans need, and I think you are getting a couple Day 1 starters to go with a couple more guys who can contribute throughout the season.

I am absolutely with you on Walker - his draft stocks have skyrocketed and yet I can't see him being better than Thibodeaux, Hutchinson Karlaftis or Jermaine Johnson for that matter.

Neal is my #1 guy Walker is my #2 guy. Sauce is my #3 guy.

I dont have an infatuation with Walker. I just see how many double teams he draws and how his athletic ability contributed to the overall success of the Georgia defense. With this said I really do hope Neal and Dvis fall to 3 and 13. The 2 biggest and baddest guys in this draft. IMHO, 2 guys that kick azz and take names. This is something the Texans have been missing for yrs.

Williams reminds me so much of Justin Houston coming into this draft.

I'm hoping Salyer falls to 68 but I doubt it happens. Parham and Strange are my 1. A/1. B options. Both are really solid players.

I'm really hoping Ruckert falls and would consider him at #80

I think Jones can play inside or outside. If Skyy Moore falls to say #60, I would use # 68 and this pick to trade up for Moore.

Teague is a guy I would package a couple of 6ths and move into the 5th for, he got nicked up last yr and lost his spot to Henderson, who's a stud. Teague was very good 2 seasons ago. He solves the short yardage issues and is good in pass pro.

Blankenship is a very heady player who is solid in coverage and is a very good tackler.

Ezzard- I think Jones can play outside or the slot. Ezzard is very talented and at this point in the draft I'm looking for talent over positional need. It certainly wouldn't hurt a thing to draft 2 talented upgrades at the slot position. Plus he's got great value as a ST's guy.
