Texans trade DW4 and a 2022 3rd to the Jets for Picks 2/23/34/Quinnen Williams/Sam Darnold and a 2022 1st
Texans trade Sam Darnold to the Washington Redskins for pick # 19.
Rd1/2 Zack Wilson, QB BYU- Most like Mahomes in this draft, can make all of the throws/great accuracy/toughness. Needs to show he can do it against top competition.
Rd.1/19 Zavien Collins LB/DE Tulsa- This guy can rush the passer very well and has the ability to cover too. Bednarik winner does all things well and his best football should be ahead of him.
Rd.1/22 Ifeatu Melifonu- Big rangy CB with great length/speed. Gets his head around and play the ball. Great at defending the 50/50 balls.
Rd.2/34 Jabril Cox- ILB LSU, Great leader, can defend both the pass and the run. Has the speed to be the perfect MLB in Lovie's scheme.
Rd. 3 Ellerson Smith DE Northern Iowa- Tall rangey slim DE with great 1st step. Reminds me of Jason Taylor coming out of college.
Rd.4 Keith Taylor CB Washington- Another big tall rangy CB with good speed. Plays the deep ball well and is very sticky with WR's. He will get beat on slant routes by quicker smaller WR's. Doesn't have good hands 0 career ints at Washington. I would trade up to get this guy if I had too, he really impressed me at the Sr Bowl.
Rd.4 Anthony Schwartz WR Auburn- Fastest guy in the draft, Malzahan used him like Reid uses Hill, Screen/Jet sweeps/deep balls etc... He's got surprisingly good hands. A threat to score every time he touches the ball.
Rd. 4 (Trade alert using the high 5th and high 6th) Kylin Hill RB Miss St. Well rounded RB that can catch/block as well as run hard. Was 1st team all SEC 2 yrs ago.
Rd.6 Bryan Robinson RB Alabama- Big bruising RB that's surprisingly agile. Has a nose for the goal line. Questionable pass catching/pro skills.
Rd.6 BJ Foster S Texas- Top tier recruit coming out of HS. Herman screwed him over but the talent is still there.
Rd.7- Grant Hermanns OT Purdue- Has played LT/RT at Purdue, fairly nimble for a big guy. Developmental OT, has had injury issues in the past but has talent.
Texans roster
QB's Wilson/McCarron
RB's Hill/Robinson/Howell/Phillips
OL Tunsil/Scharping/Fulton/Howard/Heck/Hermanns/Qvale/Johnson
TE's Akins/Brown/Fells/Warring
WR's Cooks/Cobb/Hanson/Coutee/Schwartz
Defense
DE's Ohmenihu/Ellerson Smith/J. Martin/Watkins (Watt is traded or Cut)
DT's Williams/Blacklock/Hall/Alufohai
LB's Cunningham/Cox/Collins/Adams/Kalambayi/Greenard/Emannuel/Cole
CB's Roby/Melifonu/Taylor/John Reid/Gaines/Brandon Williams/Crossen
Safties- Reid/Murray/Foster/LoJo
This team would be so much faster and if you hit on Wilson you would be set up in the next 3 yrs to be true contenders.
