1. Jason Spriggs Ind., OT 6'6 301- Duane Brown's if he cant make it back replacement policy. Spriggs feet are as good as any OT in this draft, including Tunsil. Since the Texans aren't winning a SB next yr this is an investment in the future. Will Bob/BOB/Rick use good judgement?
2. Chris Jones Miss St. DT/5 Tech- Chris is very athletic and knows how to turn power into speed. People question his desire, I dont, he was double teamed alot but if you put him on a DL with Watt/Wilfork you will see what Chris Jones is all about. A violent punch combined with great quickness. Put Jones around Watt and Wilfork and you will have an eventual pro bowler. An instant upgrade over Crick.
3. Graham Glasgow Mich, C- as I said before protecting Os is job # 1, Glagow is a 10 yr starter who not only is a leader, he has great movement skills and will fight to sustain the POA.
4. Tyler Higbee West Kentkucy, TE- This guy would be rated much higher if he had remained healthy all yr. He can stretch the seam and is a matchup nightmare, too fast for a LB and to physical for a safety. He's an adequate blocker who should get better with a yr in a S&C program. A faster OD, Higbee compares to Travis Kelce who is still scoring TD's against the Texans sefense.
5. Charone Peake Clemson- WR, Has the speed that his predecessors Watkins/Bryant have. I'm a Peake fan because he not only has speed but is a wiling blocker. He's not quick in and out of his breaks but if used right he can be a very productive WR. I would have him only run a fly/back shoulder fades and curls. The good thing about Peake is he's physical enough to be a presence in the redzone and has a good vert. Peake was trained by Sweeny who was a WR so I consider him NFL ready. I would trade up to get him even though his previous knee injuries are a cause for concern.
5. D.J. Reader Clemson- DT, Reader is a huge man who has great quickness, he made Lawson/Dodd look good because he was constantly demanding double teams. Country strong and a guy Wilfork can eat BBQ with/show the ropes on how to become an NFL player.
6. Micheal Caputo Wisconsin- S , Caputo is a big S who is very smart, can cover the TE and will knock the crap out of TE's coming across the middle. He immediately upgrades the ST's. Underrated athlete who was a team leader. Only reason he falls this far is due to concussions.
Guys I couldn't find a spot for Tyler Earvin RB who is a playmaker who would make a great gunner on ST's, Daniel Braverman who I think can be another Welker and Marquez North, who I consider one of the most talented WE's in this draft. He's a big physical fast guy who's quick in and out of his breaks for a man his size.
I know this draft looks alot like Bah's draft and we can only hope Rick does this well.
